A group of us were meeting at Wild Ride for food and drinks. I chose here because my friends nachos looked yummy. He got a large nacho, and let me tell you, it's large! I chose to get the burrito bowl with carnitas. They were quick to take my order and made it up for me right there quickly instead of getting a beeper. It was a very colorful bowl with fresh ingredients. I really loved the pickled onions on it, I'm going to start doing that now. The only thing I would say is that they could use a little more sauce on it including the lime crema. Also, it's a little over priced when a lot of the bowl is rice and beans. This is a good truck in the Wild Ride Brewing parking area. There are 4 food trucks. We chose this one because it had one of the only healthy options--essentially a burrito bowl. The other food trucks have pizza, fried foods and burgers. For $14 you can get a good-sized bowl with all of the burrito basics (4 meat options) and pickled onions, iceberg lettuce, and guacamole. The best thing about it was the variety in the bowl. Lots of colors, textures and food groups. It wasn't particularly special, but it was filling and did feel healthy. (I got chicken, hubs got pork.) I've had the yakisoba bowls a few times now all with varying satisfaction...but I am officially done now. 3x and it just got worse and worse. To add insult to injury, I got it with the $ upgraded Carne Asada, which tasted like boiled beef. It was chewy, bland and lukewarm. If you are going to charge extra for something, at least have it be edible. Staff here have been reluctantly friendly....never rude, never outgoing, never very helpful. read more

Yum! Fast, friendly and huge servings. We ordered the loaded nachos, French fry basket, quesadilla, and the burrito with extra veggies. The French fries are the best I've had. Obviously hand cut, cooked to perfection with the right amount of what I'm pretty sure is quality sea salt. I'm frequently not a fan of "fry sauce", but Shred Town's version is light, tangy and I really enjoyed it. The nachos could have fed the 3 of us alone, and had all right goodies on top. The burrito with extra veggies, is one of my favorite truck foods to date. The veggies fresh, cooked just enough to absorb the flavors, but still a good level of crisp. I greatly enjoyed the peppers, zucchini and broccoli. I compare them to Island Noodles, which are far better. - Chicken tacos: also OK, also a little bland. Dumping Sriracha on helped but they need pico. Or something. There are too many great tacos available for me to rate these any higher. - Vegetarian taco: excellent, or so says the resident vegetarian. - Lemonade: This was from the food cart. I almost never write reviews but I can't stop thinking about the pulled pork sandwich I had. And it wasn't even mine! It was my kid's and I made her give me half because... well she insisted it was the best sandwich ever. I'm no barbecue snob, but my god, this sandwich was absolutely divine! I am beyond disappointed with this food cart. We just spent $24 for a bowl of noodles and cold sad nachos. First of all the lady at the window couldn't be bothered to look up and greet us when we were standing there. The Yakisoba was a little spicy but the veggies and tofu were very good for my wife and the Chicken bowl was great except the rice was under cooked which made it hard. This place has been on my radar, but I hadn't had a chance to try it. Lucky for me they were at the Rubbish Renewal fundraiser as few weeks back, so, perfect opportunity. I had their mac and cheese and it was lovely. Full of flavor, creamy, bacon, what more could a girl ask for? I know they are located on Galveston, so stopped in there the other day with my daughter. She was disappointed to not see the mac and cheese on their menu, so we decided to go elsewhere. I was i the neighborhood today and was hoping the mac and cheese was on the menu, no luck. So, tried their asada rice bowl. YUM! Great flavor and a health portion. Great menu with nice options, vegetarian included. The young man who owns this place couldn't be nicer. Great prices, great service, great selection and did I mention, the nicest guy who owns the place. Located on the property with Aspect Board shop. We're in town from PDX and came here when we yelped "vegan options." It did not disappoint! They were easy and crazy fast to make my bowl vegan and the veggies were super fresh, cooked perfectly and not soggy! The best part was it was so flavorful and delicious!!! Not bland because your forced to leave the sauces off as most contain dairy - not here, their sauce is vegan and they have a spicy sauce they offer that is also vegan. Went for a Cuban sandwich, ordered it to go. The guy who took and made my order was aloof and seemed annoyed that I was bothering him by ordering lunch from a food cart at lunchtime. Finally got my order, went back to my place and opened the box to see a few handfuls of stale tortilla chips (it was supposed to come with fries) and a burned sandwich. Two stars because the sandwich was still mostly edible despite being burned, but I paid $12+tip for stale chips and a burned sandwich. I don't really care if your employees hate their jobs, but I still expect to get what I ordered and paid for (fries instead of stale chips) and have that order be properly prepared (not burned). read more

During a short trip to Bend, I went out of my way to visit the Shred Town Food Cart not once, but twice. I strongly considered a third visit, but didn't want the guy behind the window to think I'm a stalker. This cart is that good. It's a pretty common Matt Fact that I love breakfast burritos, and this morning-time miracle was on the top of my mind. Shred Town delivered the goods and then some. To say this burrito is ample would be an understatement. This hefty brick of deliciousness came out piping hot, chock full of eggs, chorizo and a bunch of other goodness. I was in heaven. THEN I entered Super Bonus Heaven. Why? Because the owner walked up with a pan of shredded meat and offered us a sample of their carnitas. Let me tell you, this is some of the best carnitas I'd ever had! So, of course we came back the next day. The carnitas burrito did not disappoint! So juicy and flavorful! So filling! So amazing! Equal in heft to its breakfast sibling, this burrito is definitely a gut bomb, but I didn't care. I just consider it a slow-drip of fuel for my active day of hiking and kayaking! So, I guess this place serves things other than burritos, but I wouldn't know about those. What I do know is that this place serves up delicious, high-value burritos, cooked up by friendly dudes. In all honesty I wasn't expecting anything special here. However, in our continuous quest to try every food cart east of the Cascades, we decided to try Shred Town this evening for dinner. We ordered the pork sandwich and the asada bowl as both seemed to be safe choices. The proprietor recommended the bowl as probably their most popular dish. Okay, at least I'll have a fair basis for judgment, right? We sat down next door under the big BEER sign and about 15 minutes later our food arrived. Huh, this looks pretty good - plating like you'd see in an upscale lunch place. Certainly not the typical food cart presentation of 'we've thrown it haphazardly into a styrofoam box we stole from Lucky Dragon Noodle House." And hot damn, the food lived up to it. The pork sandwich was as promised - a heap of pork with a juicy slice of fresh pineapple and some gorgeous sauce, all in a perfectly toasted cubano-style bun. Fries were lightly breaded and quite tasty as well. They came drizzled with a honey chili sauce which, though pretty good, I probably would've preferred to have on the side. The asada bowl...mmm. Great chimichurri on steak cooked exactly as we asked, surrounded by a generous pile of rice, beans, greens, and even a few pickled onions. The bowl also came with a side fruit and bell pepper salad (?!?) which at first glance seemed to be a 'you're trying too hard' preparation but I must say it was spot on with just the right blend of citrus, sweet, and crunch. With all the food carts in Bend you have a lot to choose from, but Shred Town is by far the BEST! The Owner/Chef Kurt was both Friendly and an excellent chef. He was not impatient with all my questions about his menu like some other carts, Eventually I settled on his Rib-eye steak. The little time i had to wait for a proper steak was amazing. When he handed me the plate it looked as if it was from a five star restaurant. Finally i got to dig in.....It was Amazing! The steak was cooked and seasoned perfect. The flavor from the steak, tang from the sauce, and The crunch from the sweet potato was the holy trinity of flavor and texture. Then i cut into one of the two croquettes that was on the plate. It was cheesy ricey goodness and brought a whole other element to the plate. After devouring the steak and croquettes i was left with the wonderful mix of rice, peppers, and broccoli. I was an awesome side dish with its own complex flavors and spicy goodness. Almost licking the plate clean and leaving with a full stomach of steak dinner I was well satisfied with the 12$ price tag.
