I've been here many times and have been happy and content every time. The 6 piece sampler is my go-to, where you get a variety of pirogies of your choice, with sour cream and onions on the side. All the pierogis are good but the meat+cheese ones just hit different. I have to resist going back for round 2 even though I'm already full, haha! The service is really good. The young lads working are always polite and helpful and the food comes out fresh, and honestly quicker than most of the other options at Podski. My late grandma was polish and used to make pierogis. Eating the ones from Big Ski's has always reminded me of her in a great way. Its awesome to see a dedicated pierogi truck in a place like Bend. read more

Yummy pierogi spot in Podski! Came here for a bach party and the bride kept saying this was her favorite spot so I had to try! I love that you can get combos and mix them to try different flavors. They came out nice and warm with a generous scoop of sour cream and onions. I tried the O.G., super O.G., Bob father, and chive me crazy. I really enjoyed all of them! Ok, so I'm Polish, and my mom and grandma gave made pierogi's all through my childhood into my present and as much as I love them, I have always secretly craved an American twist on this tradition. In comes Big Ski's! My sister lives in Bend and she insisted I try them out and I was not disappointed. In fact, I finally got to try a bacon ranch cheddar pierogi and it was what I have searched for my whole life! I ordered the sampler or 6 different styles and they were all amazing! The T-Rex, off the premium menu, was so good! Chuncks of steak and grilled onions and something else I'm forgetting, it was one of my favorites. The pepperoni and mozzarella was an obvious spin and do not disappoint. Some spicy options with Serrano chilli were hot but not uncomfortable. I was told to go try the pierogis "they are the best" that advice was NOT GOOD! The filling was bland and the texture was mealy? The service was slow and the person taking the order acted as if I was an inconvenience to them, odd. The dough was good firm with a little bite again lacking any real flavor? I was expecting a lite slightly crisp dough stuffed with a pillowy potato filling. To be honest they tasted old, not bad old like spoiled, but not fresh today or yesterday? The wanna be pierogi (a ravioli and dumpling, if they had a baby, lol, funny description)....it's a polish/Eastern European style dumpling. Lack in flavor and authenticity (perks on for a revision/remix of them). Definitely a bit overpriced (online prices not updated too, slightly upcharging). Seems like Bigski needs a little competition (since authentic polish food is PNW limited), coming from a similar background, but grew up in Poland for 5 years and east coast Philly knowing the food quality. 10/10 RECOMMEND If you haven't been to Big Ski's Pierogi's then you need to head over there right now because you've been missing out! The first time I visited Bend I stumbled upon Big Ski's and I was thrilled. I'm Polish and grew up making pierogis with my family every Sunday before Christmas and when I tried Big Ski's pierogis it took me back to those memories. I'd recommend trying The O.G. for starters, that's the most similar to the traditional pierogis I'm used too. Beyond that the sampler is a good option to try a variety of the other pierogis. I can't lie though, my absolute favorite were the Hells O.G. I love love love spicy, which is typically not included with pierogis, and the O.G. mixed with the habanero and serrano is delicious. We tried the BCB and the BGT and those were great as well. Overall, you can't go wrong with whatever you order here. I'm in Bend at least 1x a year and I can't wait to come back here again next time I'm in town! read more

I just want to say that these pierogis are epic! Served nice and fried up with a crispy exterior and stunningly made fillings! We did a sampler with The OG, The BGT, The Pollo del Fuego, The BCB, The Dre, and The Bobfather! We also ordered a Kielbasa as well. There wasn't one pierogi that I regretted ordering. Loved them all but the BGT stole the show for me. The Kielbasa was ok. Wasn't the best or the worst but it was a nice meat palate cleanser in between pierogi bites. Highly recommend! read more

Was visiting Bend a couple weekends back, nice little getaway with the wife. Was out walking around and saw the sign for pierogis. I don't typically pass up an opportunity for Pierogis so I ordered one. These Pierogis were hands down the best I've ever had. The owner running place was super friendly and we talked for a bit about where we are from and things to do while in town. I will be back to Bend if not just for Big Ski's Pierogis. They are amazing. Stopped in after a bike ride and split a sampler with my wife. We're no strangers to pierogi, making them at home periodically, but were excited to try the variety at Big Ski's. In order of my preference (tough to decide though!), we ordered: Briski - brisket wonderful flavor and onions added nice sweetness Piglet - super tender pork, well seasoned Pollo del Fuego - pleasant level of heat, great flavor BCB - pretty straight forward, but good Chive Me Crazy - I'm sure many people will love this one, unfortunately this one won't make our next sampler order The sauteed onions were lightly caramelized and added a touch of sweetness to all the pierogi. The onions were well don and browned evenly. I think I may ask for extra next time. They were so good! Big Ski's is a solid choice (and great value) among all the great carts at Podski! Pierogis are hard to come by. Great pierogis are even more difficult to come by, and at Big Ski's they serve GREAT pierogis. I don't think I am influenced by the fact that I normally eat a mostly ketogenic diet either. Pricing is fair, especially given all the work that goes into making them. We were in Bend for a few days and ended up here twice. It's probably a good thing we don't live any closer. Over our 2 visits, we tried 6 different types of pierogis. Here they are in order of most to least favorite, keeping in mind that even the lest favorite were still very good. Super O.G. - bacon, onion, potato & cheese The O.G. - potato & cheese Bob Father - pepperoni, mozzarella & sauce Popeye - spinach, sundried tomato & feta Pollo Del Fuego - chicken, cheese, tomato & serrano chilli Green Monstah - chicken, pesto & mozzarella Pierogis were sauteed perfectly both days. There was a better quantity of sour cream the first day & the onions were browned a little better, but I wouldn't complain about anything really on either day. Its been pretty much a year to the day that I came and tried Big Ski's Pierogis and good gawd, I want some again right now! I don't remember the exact flavor combos I got but luckily between my friend and I we tried 3 and I asked for recommendations from the owner . Happy with all of it! Great pierogi all around. Many options with interesting fill combinations. It's part of a food truck courtyard with tables, a fireplace, stuff like that. Great community feel. Unfortunately, I did end up having to pick just 1 food truck to eat from, and this was the one. Green Monstah and Bob Father were my favorites, I got the variety option so that I could try as many as possible. OG really solid as well. When I go back I'm getting a dozen. Not any of this 4 or 6 stuff. As somebody from the PNW I'm guessing our sports interests clash a bit as I saw some BoSox/Patriots garbage there (I saw that in jest) but even a die hard Hawks fan like myself is gonna give that a pass in this case. The best pierogis I've ever had, and I've had a LOT of pierogis on the East Coast at places run by Polish people. I loved that the pierogis at Big Ski's are pan fried with butter. It takes the dumpling to an entirely new level! The fillings are all fantastic, but "The OG" (filled with potato and farmer cheese) is by far the best of the vegetarian offerings. The one filled with sauerkraut isn't bad either; compared to other pierogi spots, their sauerkraut isn't as pickly and is more fresh. The "Hells OG" is not for the faint of heart, it's definitely got a habanero kick, but with enough sour cream anything is doable. Super great pierogies! We got the OG, super OG, and Dre. My favorite was the Dre even though I can't really remember what was in it- I believe onions, bacon, and beef? All of them were very tasty. I always love this place. I have had them fresh at the Podski and I have also taken them home (they are definitely better eaten on site). They have a good selection of vegetarian pierogis, which are fine if you are a vegetarian (my wife is), but I definitely think they do a better job with the meaty pierogis.
