In all honesty I wasn't expecting anything special here. However, in our continuous quest to try every food cart east of the Cascades, we decided to try Shred Town this evening for dinner. We ordered the pork sandwich and the asada bowl as both seemed to be safe choices. The proprietor recommended the bowl as probably their most popular dish. Okay, at least I'll have a fair basis for judgment, right? We sat down next door under the big BEER sign and about 15 minutes later our food arrived. Huh, this looks pretty good - plating like you'd see in an upscale lunch place. Certainly not the typical food cart presentation of 'we've thrown it haphazardly into a styrofoam box we stole from Lucky Dragon Noodle House." And hot damn, the food lived up to it. The pork sandwich was as promised - a heap of pork with a juicy slice of fresh pineapple and some gorgeous sauce, all in a perfectly toasted cubano-style bun. Fries were lightly breaded and quite tasty as well. They came drizzled with a honey chili sauce which, though pretty good, I probably would've preferred to have on the side. The asada bowl...mmm. Great chimichurri on steak cooked exactly as we asked, surrounded by a generous pile of rice, beans, greens, and even a few pickled onions. The bowl also came with a side fruit and bell pepper salad (?!?) which at first glance seemed to be a 'you're trying too hard' preparation but I must say it was spot on with just the right blend of citrus, sweet, and crunch. With all the food carts in Bend you have a lot to choose from, but Shred Town is by far the BEST! The Owner/Chef Kurt was both Friendly and an excellent chef. He was not impatient with all my questions about his menu like some other carts, Eventually I settled on his Rib-eye steak. The little time i had to wait for a proper steak was amazing. When he handed me the plate it looked as if it was from a five star restaurant. Finally i got to dig in.....It was Amazing! The steak was cooked and seasoned perfect. The flavor from the steak, tang from the sauce, and The crunch from the sweet potato was the holy trinity of flavor and texture. Then i cut into one of the two croquettes that was on the plate. It was cheesy ricey goodness and brought a whole other element to the plate. After devouring the steak and croquettes i was left with the wonderful mix of rice, peppers, and broccoli. I was an awesome side dish with its own complex flavors and spicy goodness. Almost licking the plate clean and leaving with a full stomach of steak dinner I was well satisfied with the 12$ price tag. Wow. That was THE best pork sandwich I've had in years. Full slice of fresh pineapple on a toasted and pressed toasted roll. Seasoning perfect. And awesome fresh cut fries. Crispy goodness. Fresh lemonade, too. Try this place. Nicest guy! Update: we got burritos for breakfast here this morning and were blown away! He diced all of the ingredients inside which made it so easy to eat. Oh my goodness... I stopped by here today to try out a taco to see if it was worth coming back. I had a chicken taco and my oh my it was the best taco I have ever had! The sauce, cotija cheese, chicken and veggies were stuffed to the brim and so delicious! I can't wait to go back and try their grilled broccoli and order more tacos! Just ate at the shred town here in Redmond at the Wild ride and the bbq pulled pork was amazing. It went well with the pineapple cider.

I rarely Yelp, but this place is awesome, it is a one person operation, so it can take a few minutes sometimes, but the food is fantastic and the service is fantastic. This cart is tucked a bit off of Galveston and away from the hustle of The somewhat overrated offerings of the lot. I've had breakfast and lunch here on multiple occasions and each meal has totally blown me away! I highly recommend the asada bowl, the tacos or breakfast burrito. Sometimes we treat ourselves with a Shred Town breakfast burrito after dropping our kids off at school. So delicious! I haven't tried much else from their menu but after reading these reviews - I think that I should. Would highly recommend this great food truck! My only note is that hours say they open at 8am and I go by after 9 some days and am disappointed that they haven't opened yet. Not a knock on the business - just a bummer that they're listed as opening at one time but my experiences seem to be different. read more

Their loaded nachos are $16 and everything was cold.... the meat was cold, the shredded cheese minamally sprinkled on top was cold. When paying that much for nachos I expect them to at least be warm when I pick them up... these were a cold, soggy mess from the start. read more

So disappointing. We were at Wild Ride for our company gathering and had several people that were ordering. First off, the guy behind the counter was beyond rude. He acted like we were a terrible inconvenience, complete with eye rolling and heavy sighs. We ordered several burritos, tacos and chips/salsa/guac. The burritos were not edible. The rice was uncooked and crunchy. Beyond that, they were lacking any flavor at all. One of our party returned the burrito and got yakisoba which was bland and greasy. This cart needs a major overhaul of food and lessons in customer service. Go elsewhere. read more

Had sass when we ordered, Gave us nachos without chicken but convinced us it had chicken on there. I brought them my plate and with a lot of sass said I will give you some more. So much attitude that was uncalled for. We where nice about it and all we got was attitude. I have been here a few times but now will not go back with treatment like that and will stop recommending them. We hired Shred to feed our wedding guests in Sunriver. Then we got a foot of snow, ice on the road, and temps around 5 degrees...and Kurt still made it all happen! He made it there on time (ahead of many of our guests!), brought propane heaters to keep everyone warm, and cooked up some rockin' good food. Our guests were happy, and we are too! read more

I've eaten here twice. First with my son who had the pressed sandwich. I ordered the asada bowl. The tri tip was a bit underdone for my tastes but I can't hold this against Shred as I am mostly a non meat eater. A tad too much sauce--again, personal preference. Other than that, delicious flavor. I love brown rice and purple cabbage. My son loved the sandwich--just wanted a bit more pineapple coverage. The fries were really good. Priced ok for Bend. Wasn't fast but worth the wait. The second visit was with my husband. He had the sandwich and I ordered a veggie taco. My taco (one) wasn't super filling--I'm watching my calories--but very flavorful and included mushrooms. Yum. Just about everything comes with a mysterious orange sauce that is quite addictive. The customer service is friendly. We heard some funny conversation between the three young men who were working there on the second visit. And they had a connection and Isaac made his meal with out the sauce this time and even came out to our table and make sure he liked it. I was hoping for some authentic Mexican at another place, but my wife had this place recommended to her, so we decided to check it out. We thought maybe we'd have something there and then pick up a burrito elsewhere for comparison. We left too stuffed from shred town to do that. Some other time. The food is really quite good here, definitely got a foodie touch to it. The house sauce is really good, tasty on the pork sandwich and the fries, also tasty on the asada bowl. Meat was really good, and the ingredients were super fresh and tasty. Service was nice, one chill and helpful guy running the place. They have just a few items, but if what we sampled holds true for the whole menu, then it's all going to be yummy. So, in sum, I didn't get the authentic Mexican food I was craving, but u got some really tasty stuff that is Mexican food inspired. My wife and I ate at Shred Town after some friends recommended it to us. We both had the Asada Tacos and added their nectarine habanero sauce and they were amazing especially for $7/3 tacos. Had a breakfast burrito here. I'm generally a vegetarian so I ordered two without bacon. I got two WITH bacon. Not sure if the guy didn't hear me, or just forgot in the 10 minutes it took to make them. I ate it anyway since I'm not super strict on the vegetarian front. In Redmond we tried their "yakisoba" noodles and they weren't yakisoba noodles at all. They were more like udon noodles which are much thicker. Also, we got about 3 little bites of shredded plain chicken on it. The worst part was that they were just slightly lukewarm. All for $13. We felt ripped off. Shred Town is tied for my #1 favorite food truck in Bend with Bend Soup Company. Both are excellent. We've tried the asada bowl (an amazing mix of steak, cheese, rice, veggies, beans and other great stuff) and also the tacos. Both are phenomenal, so much better than what you usually find at even good food trucks. We can't wait to try the rest of the items on the menu. Also, the owner is a great guy and very willing to make modifications for restrictive diets - our friends were eating strictly paleo and he was super nice and accommodating. The location's also perfect- the place next door has a great selection of beer! A hint: if you don't like spicy, let them know - the bright orange sauce on the asada bowl may be a bit hot for some and it's liberally applied. read more

Found myself on the Westside this morning and I see this brand spankin' new red cart that almost sends you right back to yuletide season all over again. I stop by and check and the menu and an energetic voice greets me. "You looking for some breakfast?!" (with a smile) I reply, "most definitely". I get the full scoop on the menu and ingredients used. Like I mentioned before I chose the breakfast burrito for $5. Generous portion of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and cheese. Kurt even threw in some avocado for extra fuel. This is your one stop shop in the morning with a cup of coffee for just $1. If you are on your way up to the mountain, passing through, or a Westside resident, you'll leave feeling better for stopping by. I highly recommend this place to anyone.
