Great food buffet, the paneer was incredible. Especially with the naan and rice combo. The service was friendly and great. The atmosphere was clean and very nice. Comfortable seating as well. The management was kind and courteous with us even after we just slightly lingered after our meals after they were closed. We didn't feel rushed at all and they even let us know before they were taking the buffet food away in case we wanted a last bit of anything else. If you are interested in trying a vegetarian Indian experience, Shree is a great restaurant to do so, in my opinion. This has been the second time I have been to Shree and left very satisfied. Went on a Saturday for early dinner, I saw just couple of tables filled in. But by the time we were leaving families were pouring in non stop. I hardly go to a vegetarian restaurant but this place had so many great options it was stupid to ignore. We ordered aalu tikki and Thali with additional pudina laccha parantha. The server was sweet but lacked knowledge on menu items. Straight face and rushed. Food was average. Aalu tikki had channa and chutney. (Description in the menu says yogurt but there was no yogurt. It wasn't wow OMG but close enough. I was expecting a better tasting parantha but it was very dry and flaky so kinda bummer. Pathetic experience. Went in for a dinner on Friday evening at 6 PM and were told that they only have the buffet and are not taking any orders. This was because their regular cook was out on some marriage party. Since we were short of time we decided to eat buffet. Almost immediately I realized that almost all food items were stale. I had some medical condition in next 4 hours. Advice to customers before going over call and ask if their cook is available or not. Advice to management better turn away customers and say NO rather than feeding them stale food. read more

Good place for family dinner. If you are very hungry, I recommend the Thali. Good value for money and filling. The Chana Bhatura and Poori Bhaji is tasty but not a very healthy option. Not a huge fan of the mango lassi served here, it was not fresh and tasted like the packaged drinks you get in Indian stores. The Janeman dessert came across as an experimental dish, though served beautifully, is not something that you can enjoy and share with everyone. I went considering the innumerous reviews they had on yelp. As per Yelp this is supposedly the best south Indian restaurant in Naperville. Both my Dosa and Samosas were average. The Sambhar especially was disappointing. Update. There is no doubt the service of this place is awesome. The people here are great and know their service perfectly. Now having visited the resturant atleast 5 times, i can without doubt say that this is the best indian food serving restaurant in the naperville, aurora area. The touch in their cooking is very 'Punjabi' and it is excellent. everytime we have been there, we have ordered their naan (shree special) which is a huge naan in itself and of excellent quality. easily serves 3. I dont think there is another indian restaurant in the area which matches the food quality like theirs (except sher-e-punjab has matching quality naans). Glad we noticed this place driving by. It's a little far from home to visit often, but I think we'll make the trip again. The atmosphere is really warm and comfortable, and we received a friendly welcome. All of these things are somewhat unusual in my experience at Indian restaurants. All of our food was delicious...they were generous with the paneer, which is often not the case at other restaurants. The breads we tried, batura and butter naan were both very satisfying. The bathroom was clean. What a bonus! My only semi-complaint is that there was very strong incense burning when we arrived, but they toned it down when I mentioned that it was bothering me. First time here.. Really liked the aloo kachori. The bhaturas were dry good and it too oily. However the chole was different that what we were expecting. It was the dark brown chole and we have had better. But overall it was a rich dish. The shahi paneer came in a yellow gravy and was rich too. I personally would like to try a red paneer curry next time. The dosa was crunchy and tasty. The chutney and sambar were fresh and tasty as well. I really liked the dosa. We had channa bhatiura, paneer makhani, and also tried some medu wada. The channa was quite good and had a distinctive flavor and the family gave two thumbs up for the paneer. The medu wada tasted a little stale. The portion sizes were on the smaller side and no rice was served with the main dishes, it had to be ordered separately. The food was average. We ordered Aloo Kachori, Idli, Mango lassi, salted lassi, Chana bhatura, and paneer handi. The aloo kachori and idli were ok. Nothing special about it. Lassi was little watery. I would rather call it Mango shake than Lassi. Chana bhatura were exceptional. They make the butter tandoori roti differently so make sure you ask for tandoori roti with butter on top if you are used to having regular butter roti at other north indian restaurants. I called and ordered Chick peas gravy and when I went to pickup, the person who took the order has Paneer Makini and I asked why it is Paneer and not chick peas, he said there were 3 types of chick peas and I didn't order correctly. ok, if there were 3 types of chick peas why I didn't get one of them and instead of his own wisdom he choose paneer dish. I am writing this review in hopes that the management will see this and improve on this establishment that was once very good. We used to love coming here, especially for the dosas. We have not had a chance to come here for the past several months until today. Not sure if they are under new ownership or what, but something is amiss. It seems they now have a buffet during the day and night (menu option still there). That is fine, and food was decent, but the selections/variety could be improved upon. The most disappointing thing was that they were not serving dosas for lunch even though it is on the menu. This restaurant was known for their dosas. We came to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday as he was craving dosas from here. Please bring back dosas all day everyday and improve the buffet experience if you are going to continue having that option. Dals, veg biryani, vadas, idlis, and at least plain dosas are some items that would be nice to include in the buffet. Also, there was only one person handling all the tables today. He was ok, but realistically, for a weekend, you need more help as the service was slow. If things improve, we will be back and tell all our friends and family to come, too.
