Ambiance - clean not too neat. Booths, tables, and patio dining available. Lots of locals were eating here with screaming kids. Fortunately, they came in as we were leaving. Service - Charlee was our waitress. She seemed more interested in talking to the other waitresses than serving us. After she delivered the menus she did get our drinks quickly. After the food came out, she did not check on us, but she did get me a refill on my drink. Food - lots of fried food. Fried coconut shrimp, French fries, fried corn fritter (that was really good), and two small hush puppies. The sweet and sour sauce for the coconut shrimp was good. The coconut shrimp was good, not overly sweet. I would order it again if I could get other non fried sides. This place is still the fast food version for seafood. The potatoes were delicious and we were given a lot of shrimp/sausage. - Seafood boil for one: I'd stick to the former option. We got Cajun seasoning and medium spice, but it was just pretty buttery and not very spicy. The crab was a good portion, though - Grilled whitefish platter: good serving of fish but it was super salty. The green beans were also very salty (seemed canned?) but the shrimp slaw was amazing and so was the potato salad. I'd still recommend the lowcountry boil as the best item. read more

We ordered food to go and I got the blackened catfish platter and my mom got the grouper sandwich with sweet potato fries. The portion for the price was well worth it and the food tased hearty and well made. For sides I had cheese grits (so good!) and green beans, a classic that tasted just how I like them. They were definitely understaffed but everyone in the kitchen and the servers were all hustling hard to get orders out. It was a long wait, but when I was waiting at the bar customers seemed happy and were enjoying their meals. The inside is small but the patio is perfect for an evening meal. read more

Stopped here on the way from Destin to gulf shores. We always loved the shrimp basket but this location was awful. Waitress was slow and we were there for 2 hours for 2 people who ordered the second we sat down. I got the coconut shrimp basket and it was not good, very greasy and the sauce was overly sweet. My mom got a shrimp poboy and she could not eat it. We got beers and thought the glasses were chilled but it was just a white film on the inside of the glasses that we scrapped off with our nails and could not finish our beer. We like eating here and the food and waitstaff are all so nice. Last night it was a Wednesday night at 5:30 and for some reason everyone was waiting for their food. We were looking for a pet friendly restaurant during a recent vacation in Navarre Beach, Florida and found one at the Shrimp Basket. The outdoor seating was busy but we were seated within a reasonable amount of time once a very large party left. I had the shrimp po-boy sandwich while my husband had the seafood sampler. The food quality was good and the service was friendly. While my husband was not too crazy about the Gulf shrimp on his platter, I thought they tasted great and I really loved my po-boy sandwich. Ordered food to go at the counter on our first visit. Came back the next night for dinner. Sat outside as it was too loud inside.Drinks were quick and most enjoyable...even the mocktail! Lots of good food for your money. We had the Red beans and rice and the gumbo. They were some of the best I have had outside of Louisiana. This wasn't hard at all to find. It also wasn't packed at all. We got in and seated right away during dinner hours. We came here because we wanted some raw oysters and we saw that they had it. I tried their seafood boil on Cajun sauce. It wasn't bad at all. It wasn't too overly seasoned and had crab legs, shrimps, corn, and potatoes in the bag. I also tried their gumbo and I think that and the oysters were my favorite thing here. I liked how the rice in the Gumbo wasn't too hard. Actually, it stank. It stank up our car so much we could still smell it on the next morning. We had to dump it. We also ordered a stuffed crab shell, which had no taste whatsoever, being totally bland. Also ordered boo-boo shrimp, which was good, our only consolation. There is a couple of these down here, but, i swear it is unlike any chain there is. We got lucky and have a guy training under a lady who were we happy to trip up with "we's good, how is youins?l" the food is amazing, as you can tell by the pics. My great grandmother made the same greens as pictured, and i swear she made them! If you see a fritter and hush puppy by my beer, it's because they hit the floor, 5 second rule does not apply. We placed an order successfully, but it didn't show when the order would be ready! How were we to know? So we called the restaurant and they said about 20 mins. We were already at the restaurant so we just waited until 20 minutes had past and picked up the order. We got shrimp two ways: grilled and and blackened, and honestly I couldn't tell the between the two. The fries were soggy and not y memorable. Stopped for dinner with the family had a great time. Our server Brady was very efficient and courteous we had three young children with us. The children had the kids meals, two whitefish meals and one shrimp baskets. Plenty of food for each of the children in the baskets they had. My DIL had the shrimp po boy and again plenty of food and also very tasteful. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. My wife had the chicken basket and again cooked very well and plenty of food. Our son had the shrimp basket and once agin plenty of food in the basket. I had the endless popcorn shrimp and order twice plenty of shrimp and it was hot and cooked perfectly. Drinks were plentiful and refilled regularly. We had a great time and really enjoyed our meal and time at the restaurant. Keep up the great work.
