First, The place is so loud, you have to raise your voice just so the person next to you can understand you. Orded two eggs over easy, toast, hash browns and sausage. Took 30 minutes to get and the place half emptied out as soon as we sat down. Table next to us, sat down right after we ordered. Table of six that got theor food in 10 minutes. Same server. Eggs were half raw. The rest was good. Then right as we were fixing to leave, A bag lady walks in off the street and runs right into my chair? Food - I had the special, a beef brisket omelette with their brioche toast and a side of hash browns. The omelette was delicious. The brisket was tender and well seasoned. They added a cheddar cheese to the brisket and served it with bar b Que sauce. I didn't use the bar b Que sauce because it was too sweet with no real spice taste. Obviously a bought sauce. But the brisket in the omelette did not need it. This was one of the best omelettes I've had in a long time. The brioche toast was good. I'm actually pleasantly surprised they use brioche bread. The hash browns were standard. Nothing special. Service - Izzy L was our waitress. Very fast but she was slow on refilling our coffee. Still, our meals were out quickly. Ambiance- still the same. Only a few days after our first breakfast visit to Alphys, we returned and had a remarkably different experience, beginning with the quality of the service. We were rarely checked on by the waitress, and the ordering process was incredibly more awkward this time around. Furthermore, when we paid the bill with cash, the waitress neglected to apply the 3.5 percent cash discount (which is clearly advertised in the menu). The service wasn't all that suffered either. Every dish we received was of diminished quality as compared to what we enjoyed just a few mornings prior. Nothing was as good as we remembered. There shouldn't be such a substantial drop in quality or consistency between shifts, and it's unlikely to think we simply got extremely lucky on our first visit, so our consensus was that a lower overall rating was in order. read more

While on vacay we were looking for a simple breakfast spot and came across Alphy's. On our visit (Monday) we strolled right in at about 8:30 am. The hostess and staff are very friendly, and the sweet tea is fantastic! We didn't have to wait long at all for our food and our waitress was very attentive. We sampled Belgian Waffle with Chocolate Chips, and we would have preferred the chocolate chips to have been baked in the batter instead of merely sprinkled on top. Still, it was delicious. The sausage patty was smaller than we were used to, so know that if you are ordering it. Biscuits are fluffy and delicious. We also had a cinnamon hot cake that was reminiscent of a cinnamon roll. That was the dish of the day, it was fabulous and with the icing drizzle didn't even need syrup. The ham and cheese omelet comes with a side and bread, so we chose hashbrowns (well done) and a biscuit. We ordered a side of gravy for the biscuit. Solid dishes, all around. If you are looking for a solid breakfast, this is it. No frills, just good food and friendly people. I'd go back in a heartbeat. read more

My two siblings and I visited Navarre Beach from Middle Tennessee, and we loved Alphy's so much that we had breakfast there 3 times in our 5-day trip!! It's a mom and pop type of diner that seems to have lots of regulars. But the FOOD! Oh my god the food. The pancakes are huge and delicious, the biscuits are fluffy and buttery, and it's required that you get the cinnamon roll Belgian waffle!! Medium fried eggs cooked perfectly, and I loved the summer sausage too. Ladelle (sorry if it's misspelled) was our favorite server, she was on top of everything and we loved her vibe. I got blackened shrimp and cheddar grits, and it was amazing. The service was fast, polite and inviting. I asked for shell eggs if they had them. The waitress said all eggs were they couldn't make omelets without them.... I could tell they weren't but decided to give them the benefit of doubt and the eggs made me sick because they were not. The waitress I asked didn't seem too happy serving me and my family. Alphy's is a home style Breakfast/lunch spot to pop in to for some simple, filling food. We showed up on Father's Day morning, after many failed attempts at other breakfast spots being jam packed. There was no wait to be seated, booths were very roomy and our waitress was quick to take drink orders and answer questions. They are a bit pricey, but the portions are fair and the staff is very candid about the food quality and recommendations. I ordered the Spanish Omelette, with buttered toast slices and the fruit dish. The omelette was packed with fresh veggies, while delicious, they were not cooked well so the bell peppers and onions were very crunchy and didn't mesh with the egg. The fruit cup was fine, the best part was the toast surprisingly! Overall the food wasn't anything to rave about, but the restaurant holds up well and is a good, family owned spot to pick over any chain restaurants or tourist traps. Average food at an above average price. Had breakfast here and was just ok, but over $60 for 3 people having omelettes and marginal coffee. Special orders are not allowed here apparently, and no gluten free options or substitutes if you don't want the toast or a particular ingredient in your omelette. Jalapeño's in the omelettes are pickled and not fresh. Old diner like ambiance and service. One plus is you can have breakfast until 1 pm, so you've got that going for you. read more

Great breakfast stop!! Talk about some good food to start off your morning. This family owned restaurant which is evidently very popular with the locals. Very welcoming staff and very friendly. The staff is constantly making rounds to top off the coffee or refill get drinks which is a plus for us. They have all staple breakfast but the cinnamon pancake is a MUST!!!! The portions you get is enough for two people + an order if cinnamon pancake . They have multiple options in the menu to choose from, but I highly recommend the cinnamon pancakes. read more

Don't waste your time coming here. My husband and I came in at 7:43am on Friday morning. We were seated right away and order was taken promptly. We sat and waited for our food, 15 minutes pass and no food but we continuing waiting, 37 minutes later and still no meal. As I sat there and looked around I witnessed 2 other couples show up after us and guess what? They received their meal and shortly after the other table got their food. I told my husband and he decided we were leaving. The staff couldn't care less, as we walked out they even told us to have a nice day. Good local mom an pop place. We go for the breakfast food prior to traveling out to P-Cola or Mobile. Western omelet (seasoning was good) w/bacon and a biscuit. Onions were cooked through but green / red pepper needed some more time on the griddle. 2-2-2 : eggs: sausage patties, big pancakes and hashbrowns with a biscuit. Such sweet staff!!! And the cook knows exactly how to prepare "over medium-well" eggs (where there's a kind of gel for the yolk, but not over-cooked nor runny - I am picky). The bacon was just right (ask them how you want it cooked - crispy, medium - whatever the terms may be). Their sausage patties are just the right size. Not to keen on the hashbrowns, but I don't go out often, so I am, as I mentioned, picky, perhaps to a fault. But WOW. What a great time every opportunity I get to visit. As my first experience here, Alphy's has a great vibe for a dinner-esque restaurant. If you want a true home-style brunch on Sunday's, it's a great place to be. Typical eggs, meat, bread, and omelets. Little to no wait, and offers coffee before being seated. Food was good, especially anything with potatoes (hash browns, home fries, etc). -1 star (4 stars), only for the pricing. $30 meal that I can make for less than $7 at my own house. I would pay $20 for it going out with friends though for brunch. Kudos for Deane! She was attentive, funny, and caring with our orders.
