After complaining to my husband that there were no good restaurants in the area on Yelp he stumbles across this place. The reviewers were good and with 4 1/2 stars and a good menu, we gave it a try. I ordered the fried shrimp and fish, crab balls, Mac & cheese and cornbread. Everything was delicious and seasoned perfectly. We will definitely be back again and this is now my go to spot, when I don't feel like cooking. On one of my many visits to Richmond I had the pleasure of dining at this quaint yet cute restaurant. My boyfriend is from this part of town so he wanted to patron it. As soon as I walked in I could smell the delicious aroma of food in the air and I couldn't wait to eat. We were seated and our waitress came right over to get our drink orders. I can't remember the name of the drink we ordered but I know it has all of the Cirocs in it lol. It was strong!!! Not complaining either lol. We started with the BP sampler that came with chicken wings, fried shrimp and fried fish. It was sooooo good!! The seasoning was on point. For my entree I settled on the smothered turkey chops with skillet potatoes, mac and cheese and yummy piece of cornbread. The turkey chops turned me into a believer and I haven't had a pork chop since lol. Everything was so delicious. The service was great as well. As skeptical as I am with eating other peoples mac n cheese and collard greens if it's not my mothers or a few selective others bc I'm always let down I decided to give this place a try. Was not disappointed for a change. I ordered the smothered fried chicken which was seasoned to perfection. The gravy was on point with the onions and green peppers. I just wanted some good food and I really wanted pasta and salmon. After 5 minutes on Yelp I found this place and I was on the way. We decided to do a take out order so we called in ahead. Such a nice voice on the other end to take my order and process the payment. When we got there it's really easy to pass but once you are in the doors you feel a presence. Everyone speaks, nice envvironment, with good music is playing. Our food was being packed up and we were offered $5 shots (during happy hour) while we waited. Was craving some fried seafood so figured I'd try this place since it had good reviews. Delivery was on time and the driver was super nice and friendly. I got the fried fish with shrimp and fried oysters. Also got sides of Mac and cheese, cabbage, and green beans. The food was hot and delicious and definitely satisfied my craving. Only complaint is that there were a couple bones in the fish and the Mac and cheese could've been cheesier. But overall I really enjoyed it and plan on eating there again. We enjoyed our dinner very much! There was a lot of food in the two dinners we ordered. The grilled crab cakes were delicious! The corn bread was a little sweet and cake like. The side salad was fresh, but nothing special. The salmon on top of the Alfredo was amazing! The pasta sauce was thick and very rich and there was enough for several servings. I'm giving four stars just because the green beans were way too salty and the yams were super sweet. They were cooked perfectly, but almost inedible because of the flavoring. The portions are more than enough and the service was great, despite the wait the first time. Ok so the first two times that I went, the food was fresh and amazing. I even ordered it a 3rd time and took to my friend for him to try. Went this week (Monday May 21st) and my friend who tried it with me the second time and I were very displeased. The food tasted horrible. She had the salmon cake meal and I had Fish & crabballs both meals with potatoes. The potatoes tasted like they had been sitting out all day and the actual potatoes' were spoiled. The fish had a grease taste too them like the grease hadn't been changed in awhile and they use the same grease for all of their food. We just weren't satisfied and had our hopes up because of previous experiences. I gave three stars because the other times the food was fresh and tasted great but this last time was disappointing and nothing was done to accommodate our complaint except the waitress telling us that when she walked to the back the cook was just frying the potatoes (which is fine but as the weather has changed, and the kitchen is probably hotter- food spoils faster and as country girl whose family raised her on farm and plant based food- I recognize spoiled potatoes). This was quite a let down as a coworker raved of how she enjoyed the shrimp Alfredo. I went to the restaurant and was given an out of date menu and was told the prices had increased. So after I thought about it, I decided to place my order anyway. I ordered the crab cake entree. The description said it would have a mixture of lump and backfin crabmeat. When I got it, it was covered in some type of breading and cooked very dark and when I cut into it, it had a LOT of breading with very little crabmeat at all. The size of the crab cakes were great until you realize that there was little crabmeat present. The cornbread was very hard and dry. The cabbage and mixed greens were ok. Needless to say, I wasn't pleased with my experience...the quality of the food nor with the price ($20.00). I will not be returning. read more

Great spot! Had the fried shrimp basket and a side order of fried fish (1 pc). The shrimp were cooked nicely and the fish was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The tarter sauce that was better than the standard version. Corn bread was buttery and not too sweet- just how I like it. Fresh squeezed lime-ade was also really good; too sweet for my boy but I'm sure it can be adjusted. The only food-related item I would change are the fries. They appear to be hand-cut so they can be a little soft on the plate but the seasoning was nice- I'll just have to get t them well-done next time Service was friendly and attentive with different staff checking in. While the food was pretty good, I don't like being deceived. The price of my meal was more expensive than the menu price. I also asked about their $6 shrimp basket and was told I could get grilled or shrimp and home fries (anything else was extra) and was made to pay $10 for it. I brought it up and the waitress told me "oh no, you should've got fried shrimp and fries." I don't like paying for other people's mistakes. Loved it !!! Came in today with my friend for her birthday. The server was new and so sweet. I think her name was Veronica or Karen. But she recommended the crab balls and was on point.
