I was splendidly surprised! This space is on the second floor with a nice view, plenty of seating, clean restrooms, microwave and eating supplies. Oh and Publix plays some nice music as well., Feel free to go to the grocer hungry! Publix has a space for you to sit and enjoy some delicious eats. Note: Not all Publix have this space. If your lucky enough to find one, you gotta check it out!

They don't have a large selection of produce like Patel Bros, but if you live west of I-275, east of Veterans, south of Vandyke, and need spices in a pinch, I recommend India Bazaar. I found the required spices reasonably priced at $2.99: black mustard seed, chaat masala, and dried chilies. I was pleased with my experience and will definitely return. The store was easy to navigate, and the owners were extremely prompt when I approached the checkout area, despite receiving a delivery. They were helpful and stopped everything to assist me.

We made Keema (Spiced Ground Beef) not once, twice, but THREE times this past week because it was so, so delish at home, especially during COVID-19 (weird times) pandemic! In my opinion, Indian food is underrated - it is almost a tie in my book to Asian food because it uses a lot of different dried spices and fresh herbs. We bought a pack of Roti (frozen) & reheated it in a pan on the stovetop. Also, we got a pack of fresh mint only for a $1 (nicely priced) for adding to the dish & for garnishing! It has very authentic Middle Eastern foods and customs. The friendly hosts allowed me and my to try some things. Very tasty. If you are unfamiliar with this type of food I recommend the giant pitas (bigger is better, just ask my wife) and any of the fresh bakery goods and desserts, Armenian string cheese, lebaneh a white spread a bit thicker than sour cream, honey with nuts, dates, nuts, seeds, couscous and the milky drink which is mint flavored with green on the label. She hadn't been herself, but she told us tales of great bargains other customers told her about. Those other customers weren't wrong. As with all discount grocery stores, the items inside vary widely from week to week. The thing to note about Tin Can Pam's is that there is usually a good amount of gluten free and low carb items at radical discounts, which is terrific for people with dietary restrictions who are trying to navigate our current crazy prices. The frozen section can be tempting, but I'd encourage you to know your prices before you head in. Some of the frozen veggies were just average price, and, in fact, I could get a larger quantity for cheaper at Publix. That doesn't mean the quality isn't terrific. It is. Just be aware of all the prices if you're cost cutting. Also, there are really great sales on meat in the frozen section that are clearly restaurant overstock. If you've got a freezer, you could fill it up nicely. There were porterhouse and top sirloin steaks for $7.99 each while we were there, and from their Facebook, steaks make a regular appearance. Something to think about if you have some freezer space to fill. The aisles are very tiny, and the building is older. Be prepared to be patient as you navigate through the store with a cart, as there's a lot of negotiation of space with other carts and customers. Worth it for the bargains, but if you're frustrated easily, maybe try getting there early to avoid a crowd.

The male customers were shockingly rude, walking straight into my space as if I were invisible, expecting me to move out of their way. When I approached an open register, I politely asked the cashier if she was available. Instead of a simple answer, she huffed, rolled her eyes, and made it clear my presence was an inconvenience. That was it for me. I put everything back and walked out. I had planned to return with family and friends, but that changed quickly. Cultural differences or not, rude is rude, and bad customer service is still bad customer service. I won't be back.
