My girlfriend and I decided to play off the appetizers, Starting with the Thai shrimp (pic enclosed) DELIGHTFUL. Breaded to perfection. Flavor x10!! My girlfriend decided on the spinach salad Although she didn't rave she loved how big it was, she hated the walnuts complained they were old. We shared the mussels in white sauce, they were awesome, one more pinch of salt & phenomenal would be the word. Worth every penny at 13.95 they over flowed the plate and left me with a take home treat :) From there I decided to pig out and ordered the fried oysters appetizer at 15.95 With a side note to cook them a little over they came out Fantastic! The side sauce gave them just the kick they needed. All of the seafood orders today were very fresh!!! Not a hint of sea in the batch ;) Happy hour was a steal with drinks & drafts at $2.50 it gave the early evening what it needed. Nice beach experience, food kinda pricey and is average in taste. I'll go back for a drink and a walk on the beach but not for the food

This is our go-to place if we can't get our act together to figure out what we want to do for dinner. We always have a good time. Food is good, as is the service. One drawback is that the outdoor seating is LOUD!. It's not the restaurant's fault and I'm glad the clientele is so joyous and expressive, but sometimes it's a bit much. If you want to enjoy a romantic tête-à-tête this is not the place. read more

We went with a large party in the afternoon the first week of June around 5pm and had a beautiful table right on the beach. The food arrived hot and everyone seem to like their entrées. I was SO EXCITED to see that they have the Impossible Burger on their menu! This is the BEST veggie burger I've ever had, and was very reasonably priced! It was very busy while we were there and service was a little slow but sitting at the beach bar and enjoying the weather was just awesome. We have been going to Shuckers for years! The view from this ocean-front restaurant is gorgeous! The drinks are so good, especially the Bacardi bucket! Bobby is a fabulous bartender so definitely look for him when you go. While the food is good, the best part are the drinks and desserts! The chocolate lava cake is the best! And we can hear the bands that play on the weekends from our condo balcony, which is great! They are usually packed on Friday and Saturday nights, so we've been doing takeout because for us, it's uncomfortable being around so many people due to COVID. However all of the employees are wearing masks (not always correctly over the nose and mouth), but I appreciate them at least making an effort. There are so many places that aren't even making the attempt, so the fact that the owners of Shuckers care enough about the health of those who are in their establishment says a lot! read more

This is my second visit to Shuckers and I have yet to be disappointed. The seafood is fresh and prepared w no frills or fancy froo froo stuff. That was exactly what I wanted...straightforward swafood! Portions are great and they don't skimp on the quality. The service is super friendly and helpful with the menu. The atmosphere is laid back and definitely not stuffy like some seafood places I've visited. While we were enjoying our time on the beach, stopped in to the outdoor bar for some mixed drinks. The bartender worked so quickly to whip the drinks up and get us back out to the sun...just what we wanted! After our beach time we decided to order food. I wasn't feeling too hungry so I ordered the clam chowder and a side of fries. The chowder was chunky and loaded with the good stuff! Win! Fries were super crunchy! Win! The quaint shore side dining area reminded me of an old Luby's that was a little dingy but it had character. The tables were a little sticky and the wait staff greeted us immediately. We stopped in about 2 hours before closing time. I'm not a huge seafood connoisseur but when I do have it, I prefer fresh. Since we're literally on the east coast and on the water, I wanted to know what the freshest fish was. She didn't know that answer and was visibly perturbed that I inquired. She came back stating that "it was all fresh but 'they' recommend the grouper." I ordered the grouper tacos and an app of calimari. The calimari came out first and it was extremely rubbery and lacked flavor and was only half breaded. I'm my opinion it was frozen before. The marinara was chunky and also lacked any type of seasoning. It was like chunky tomatoes with sugar. The grouper tacos were seasoned well but were not blackened as described. There were not any of the toppings that were on the menu. The rice was a very small portion but was very well seasoned. The server came around once and was friendly but not exactly happy to continue service. She asked about dessert but didn't offer options and quickly shuffled away at the first sign of disinterest but promptly came back with the check. The price was fair if it were all fresh fish caught that day but was lack luster. Overall, mediocre. read more

I wanted to take my family out for a beachside dinner. Upon searching google I came across Shuckers and the pics showed tablecloth dining inside and an outdoor bar eating area. Based on the menu, and the tablecloth dining, it appeared it would be upscale. That was not the case. The first indication we should have turned around was the disinterest by the hostess. She barely told us to go out back and they'd seat us before her head was back on what she was looking at. As it was a podium, I've no idea what was more important than paying customers. When reaching the outside dining area, they seated us towards the back. Not at all close to the edge of the deck even though there were open tables. And not saying I don't love senior citizens but this was ALL seniors. We ordered the conch fritters and drinks while we perused the menu determining what to order. The conch fritters and calypso sauce were ok. A couple of us ordered the NY Strip steak dinners and one ordered the mussels as well as chili. The diners arrived at the same time was about the only good thing with this dinner. The steaks outward appearance looked delicious unfortunately upon cutting and eating, one was cooked wrong (yet both ordered the same), the cuts were not good, along with not being seasoned. I've had better sirloin at Applebee's. They were served with rice and veggies. Both bland and unseasoned. While we discussed how everything was unseasoned for some time and how they could be popular, it finally occurred to me that it was all seniors here and they tend to like bland food, in my experience. The chili was under soups on the menu but presented as an appetizer when delivered as an extremely small portion with chips. Further disappointing is that it was canned. Service was awful. We saw our waitress for order taking, drink delivery and check and no more. I know that sometimes it's a bad chef or bad wait staff and will often give a second chance. But this whole experience was bad from service to cheap cuts of steak to canned chili and overpriced for what was presented and I will never go back. read more

I think 3 stars is generous. We sat outside and that was great. Our server was very nice. One of our appetizers (calamari) was warm, Thai shrimp was really good. The Tuscan grouper lacked flavor, very bland. The fried grouper was plain, I had to add hot sauce, salt & pepper to kick it up a bit. I was bothered that the waitress still charged us for the calamari even after we told her it was just warm when it came out and we ate just a couple bits of it. This was our anniversary spot this year.. my husband looked It up and off we went.. when we got there it was THE perfect weather to eat outside. Our wait wasn't very long , and we were accommodated when we asked for different seats as we sat down. We ordered our food and waited a little but while the music was playing but unfortunately the music was a little too loud that day. It was a relief when they took their breaks. When the food came out, my salmon wasnt cooked fully and i didn't really eat it. My husbands meal was ok as well and he ended up liking mine. I've been coming here for over 7 years. All of my experiences here have been positive until one day 24 days ago. I was not going to post my original review because it was negative but I would like to post it revised. I would like to say that anyone can have a bad day but how a negative situation is dealt with makes all the difference in the world. Long story short, the drinks were watery, the food took a long time to go out, the fans aren't working (but we are giving a pass on this due to the situation as they were broken during Hurricane Ian.) The server was very rude, she took a plate back that was made wrong and that had another issue, when asked if she had spoken to the manager, she said yes and that the replacement would not be comped because it was partially eaten, she proceeded to roll her eyes and then speak in a condescending tone, at this point, my fiancée requested to see the manager. Now, this lady was an elite example of customer service. She was appalled at her employees response, attitude and treatment of the customer. She did comp the said meal with the problem and apologized profusely. We have returned since and will return again! read more

My family went to dinner last night and I normally don't complain but I believe the quality has gone down. This use to be my go to restaurant for referrals. We've been going to Schuckers for probably close to 20 years. We are snowbirds. We come in November, and go home at the end of April. Shuckers has been one of our favorite places to eat. This past Friday night was not one of them. It was not a shining moment for Shuckers. A long wait for the table, poor service from our waitress, my grouper Reuben was way overcooked and served crispy, The noise level on Friday evening was so loud you couldn't talk across the table. On top of that I couldn't get our check when it was time to leave. Very disappointing evening from a place we usually love. What a difference a year makes. We were at Shuckers this evening. Very pleasant night. I ordered the grouper Oscar which was served with the béarnaise sauce and my wife had the ribs. For some reason I didn't have high hopes for this place. I'm always wary of beachfront restaurants that succeed on volume rather than price point, because often the quality lacks in some respect, whether it be service or food. I have to say that Shuckers nailed both the service and the food for me. We showed up behind other family members for a meal, and a miscommunication, they got a table for 4 rather than 6. We sat at a different table until they came over and moved it all around for us (so accommodating even though it was close to the end of the night for them). Our waiter was busy, but attentive, and I was really impressed that he got my order completely correct without writing it down (and it wasn't incredibly straightforward either, so kudos). Three of my family members got the mahi tacos and we all really enjoyed them. I would recommend overall. Just know it's a casual atmosphere with live music on the porch on occasion, so can be loud. There was a slight lingering cigarette smell and the porch does have more of a bar atmosphere than some may desire. This is a great place to come with a group when you don't want to spend a fortune, but want a million dollar view for dinner. read more

Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because we were overcharged on the bill and the onion rings tasted like fish, which I don't mind but other people in our party complained about.
