I started getting into Magic the Gathering last month, and I came to the brick-and-mortar store twice and their stand at Frank & Sons once. The store is extremely well stocked with all the big TCG packs and boxes (e.g. Magic, Yugioh, Pokemon, etc.) as well as board games! The dudes behind the counter have also always been friendly, especially Tim who is honestly one of the nicest guys I talked to. He helped me procure singles for my EDH deck and was very encouraging. As a new player, it can be really intimidating to talk about cards or build a community, but Tim really helped settle those nerves. Shuffle and Cut is exactly what I want out of a local card shop, and I'm looking forward to having them help build my new EDH deck and trying out one of their EDH tournaments! read more

We came from Covina because I've always had a good experience here, we walked in 45 minutes before closing hoping to grab a handful of magic the gathering cards, knowing that they close at 10 pm, and as we asked the employee for him to pull a couple cards and he said that the server shuts down automatically... and it was 9:15! So you mean to tell me that the server shuts down 45 minutes before closing? It annoys me that they pushed away a customer that was ready to spend. I've worked in retail for 10+ years and spent the majority as a manager. I've never heard of a server shutting down 45 minutes before closing to prevent the business from selling inventory. It was annoying that I had to drive 25-30 minutes to find that this business turned away 3 customers. read more

Disheartened to see all sealed Pokemon product priced over MSRP. They had a Shining Fates ETB listed for $100 when it's currently available for $50 on Pokemon Center. Watched them upsell it to an unknowing individual. This is what contributes to scalping and is everything wrong with Pokemon TCG right now. As an established card shop they should be able to sell at MSRP. read more

Shuffle and Cut is such a hole in the wall gem. Once you walk inside it looks like a board game store but when you go into the back room it turns into a games room filled with tables and chairs. There's also a huge demo collection of a huge variety of games you can pick from and play with! I myself am not a board games kind of person. But my friend asked me to give it a shot and now I'm hooked!! My friends and I played Mysterium and Love letter and we all had a blast! Another super cool small shop in La Habra that I never knew was there. Again on a search for some specific Yu-Gi-Oh cards with a family member we came across Shuffle and Cut Games. This shop is located in the same little area where Vinny's Italian Restaurant is (across the street from the In n Out). Upon entering you will be amazed by A) how small this shop is, but how much it has inside B) the variety of board games they have! It is not that they have a bunch of different board games, it is more the fact that they have about 25 different versions of Monopoly and such. They do not have much available for browsing when it comes to cards, instead the cards are behind the register and you tell the person at the register what you are looking for. The shop is so well organized that they have all the cards they have in stock inventoried. You mention what you are looking for and they will look it up on the computer and let you know what varities they have of what you are looking for. Super cool little shop, I'd def come back if I was ever in the situation where I knew someone was looking for something like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh or Magic cards. read more

Went all over the place to find "Code Names" a party game but they were all sold out at target, thankfully this place was open for business. They probably have every type of board game imaginable... I've stopped counting at 88 but I'm sure they have much more than that. This place has a life of its own inside the shop there were tons of people completing for honor and glory. Unfortunately I had to run or I'd stay to see who was the champion of them all. Definitely worth checking out and a sure bet if you are trying to find that board game nowhere else to be found. The employee working there (didn't catch his name, unfortunately) was incredibly helpful and welcoming, even though we came in 15 minutes before closing. I had NOOOOO idea what to get my nephew for A gift, even when he told me that he wanted Pokémon cards. Walking into a game shop as a 45 year old woman is completely intimidating. NO clue what it was going to be like. The staff was super helpful explaining all of my Pokémon options and how each one varies and what it is the kids are looking for these days. I left happy with my choice and my nephew was super excited with his gift. He informed me that they do, then advised me on showing up during a specific time frame because of a tournament taking place that day, so he wanted to make sure I was taken care of. One of the cleanest and nicest looking board game shops I've been to. All the shelves are well organized, probably the only place that's brightly lit rather than dim. I'm relatively new to board gaming but all the titles I've eyed from BoardGameGeeks (BGG) top games I was able to recognize here. Board games, Magic the Gathering (MtG), Yu-Gi-Oh, RPG's, Star Wars, Rick and Morty, etc. can be found here. This is also the only shop that has the complete giant selection of WizKid's Nolzur's Miniatures that's DnD official line of mini's. You can find almost any combination of race/class heroes, monsters, and furniture here. There are Games Workshop Citadel paints, but I don't think I saw any war gaming like Warhammer here. Theres a huge space in the back for tables to play MtG and board games. The only criticism I have is that the shop's logo and sign doesn't actually say 'gaming' on it, so from a passerby's perspective this place looks like a printing shop for business cards or something. read more

I went today to purchase a few board games for my friends and I for game night. I just underwent surgery, so I showed up with crutches. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, definitely went the extra mile. They recommended me some great board games, helped me with getting all the games to my Lyft, and gave me a wonderful first impression of Shuffle & Cut. Inside, they have an amazing collection of everything from board games to cards. Everything was neatly organized and easy to find. I believe I saw an area in the back where people could play games. Shuffle and Cut is a great store for Magic the Gathering retail products and singles. Matt, the owner, is a great guy who is always very helpful and fun to talk to. The store is a little small but there are tables to sit and play your card game of choice and the store is kept clean and the bathroom is clean as well. They don't have the biggest stock of card accessories (binders, play mats, sleeves) but where they excel is their MtG singles and they have a ton. Their prices are good, on some of the high end cards you may pay a dollar or two more then what's listed on TCG Player but that is fine with me since I can get them that day. One of the things I love about them is their online store, I can go on their website and place and order and then head down to the shop to pick it up. Plus from ordering online you get the cards at their worth to the penny instead of rounding up to the nearest quarter like most card shops do. I can't praise Matt enough, he really does take the time to get to know his customers and help them out when he is able. One day I placed an order when the shop was closed, yet he still allowed me to come down and pick up the order so i could use the cards in my tournament that night. Thanks again Matt. read more

EXTREMELY NICE STAFF. David, Dillon, and Eric are super one of most helpful and nicest business men I ever met in the Trading Card community. They were helpful to my cousins, nephew and myself. They explained there price deals on the dice mystery bag and contents of what can possibly obtained (metal dice & plastic dice that's color and/or translucent). The store has lots of board games to choose from and many card games as well. Ygo, Pokemon, Digimon, Magic Metazoo, the list goes on. They also have a big back room where people can play. I came here three times to sell some cards. The first two times went well and the most recent time did not go well. I am fine getting lowballed a little bit on card prices to support the store, since I know they need to make money. But in the most recent visit I got SEVERELY lowballed. Some cards that I know I can send in to a buylist for $5 to $10 they gave me $1 or $2. Some other cards that I can get on a buylist for $1 or $2 they gave me 10 cents each. Feeling remorseful, I called them up after I got home asking to re-buy my cards. They just said no. Perhaps because they knew they gave me an unfair price for my cards? Reluctantly, I will be sending cards to online buylists in the future. read more

I love this place. I run/play in several table top roleplaying games, mainly 5e, and they always have what I need. The selections of miniatures and paints are great, I always end up leaving with something extra besides what I originally came in for. (I don't know what dungeon I am gonna need these dolphins for, but I have them when I need them.) The staff are always very friendly and helpful. I have never brought in pokemon or MTG cards to trade in, but the employees always seem patient with the customers who do. read more

This is the third card shop I've been to (and third time going to a card shop overall) and I enjoyed it! The guy in the front (tattoo on his left forearm) was really patient with me when I was buying singles (I felt annoying but he was patient). I found the shop one day and I was happy with the selection they had for Pokémon cards but when I asked to see cards they made it seem like I was wasting there time.... I didn't have the money for the cards I wanted so I came back a week later with a solid 250-$300 ready to add to my collection and again! Just absolutely rude customer service. It was very disappointing. They were very rude and every time I kept asking for a card they got annoyed! Like they didn't want my business. Needless to say I took my money home with me. I had high hopes for this place, considering the praise it's received in the few magic circles I run in. I went to S&C on a Saturday night after a tournament for mtg ended. The place was full with players and looked promising. But the people that were behind the counter wouldn't even acknowledge my presence as I stood right against the glass counter, holding the $80 worth of items I was planning on purchasing. I was the only one in line, but the guys were more concerned with conversation about mtg to acknowledge me or even just let me know they would be with me in a few minutes. It was only when I requested a manager to get me a booster box ($100) that they realized I was actually going to spend money and then came over to help me. Not female friendly, poor customer service. Very awesome pricing on their Magic cards and accessories (I actually bought a Deck-Box on ebay and it cost me more than it would have to buy it in store- doh!). Cheapest and easiest way to buy cards is through their website, select pickup, and pick it up. The only reason I gave one star less is because I got a lot of conflicting information. I just suggest that their website includes more info about what goes on during a pre-release event (for noobs like me). One time their answering machine said they were closing at 4, another time an employee told me 8 on weekdays and 6 on weekends, another time it was 8:30. As for dealing with the employees there, I rarely have any problems with them, and usually, if you're just nice to them they'll turn very nice quickly :) read more

I preordered a box of modern horizons 2, which is quite expensive at roughly $280 a box, I apparently missed the cut off date for the preorder promo and also didn't qualify for the instore promo because I need to spend $50 on sealed magic products to qualify. so despite spending $280 on the box of sealed magic products, none of that $280 actually counted towards the instore promo because ... I purchased it from your online store. BUT WAIT, they don't ship so I actually drove down to the brick and mortar store to pick up the box. So despite me being in the store picking up a $280 sealed magic product I still didn't qualify for the instore promotional card... because... I payed online instead of at the register?
