Truth be told....I write this with a bit of a tear in my eye....not to get too melodramatic over a…read moreyelp review....but pictures...when done perfect and if your in a particular sentimental mood....can have that effect. Some backstory...Imagix/Michelle has done our yearly photos for our son from ages 1 to now 5. (See my past reviews). From somehow capturing a perfect moment from our perpetually moving blur of a son (ages 1-3) to patiently instructing four 70/80 year olds on how to hold their aforementioned 4 year old Tasmanian Devil grandson last year, Michelle is a magician/artist...I always leave the photoshoot stressed from the chaos Hurricane Daniel (our son) leaves in his wake....But every year we come back to look at the proofs and are amazed at Michelle ability to capture "lighting in a bottle" . This year was no different. Fortunately we survived the terrible 2's (...3's....4's....) and thanks to time, maturity, and the opposite of gentle parenting, our little Daniel, though far from perfect, is manageable. But we didn't want to make it too easy for Michelle, so we threw in another variable. After a recent canine cancer scare, and recently learning from Google that all dogs, however loyal and cute, unfortunately have an inescapable life, span, I somehow convinced my beautiful but camera shy wife that this is the year we do a family photo with our dog. Some more backstory, if you read this far, our Yorkie, Libby, loves us but HATES the rest of the world. She spent the entire hour photoshoot in perpetual scowl and Volume 11 non stop bark. One week later as she always does, lighting in a bottle perfection. I looked at the proofs with amazement. Our son, we expected....she's done it every year, but how she made a loud perpetual yapping bark into a impossibly cute smile is above my skill set. But I think her greatest feat is how she lessened the "he must be rich" looks gap between my wife and I. My wife is easy, even me with my amateur Android skills, it's hard for her to take a bad picture. Michelle mastery came with how she elevated me to "he must be funny" looks gap level. So why the tear? We loved one of the pics so much we purchased a large framed canvas print to hang on our living room wall. My 85 year old happened to be in town for his grandsons 5th bday so I asked him for an helping hand hanging the picture. I figured he has these family portrait hanging at my childhood home. My brother and I with our full head of hair and my mom shoulder pads captured the 90's to a tee...but what I always remember is the "proud" look my dad had on his face. A look of accomplishment shouting "look at me world and all that I love and created". Watching my aging dad struggle, listing to my aging dog bark in a locked room to protect my dad's ankles, I was suddenly reminded that time, as much as you want to hit pause, always moves forward. It's a good idea to stop and smell the roses, or in this case, look at the snapshot/memories/moments and take it all in. After my dad handed me the leveler and I put away the hammer, and I looked up....and yeah....I had that "Dad" look

Neither my husband nor I love being in front of the camera, but Nola made it so painless and fun. She was an expert in telling us how to pose, and it felt natural and effortless. The shots that she got were creative, and absolutely beautiful. She gave 110%, showing up in water shoes to our beach wedding and doing whatever it took to get the perfect angles and photos! I also love following Nola because she has a way of putting unique ideas into action-- like her back to school photos. During a time when so many people are dealing with extra stressors and missing out on some normalcy, Nola had a vision to create something special, and she did. She literally painted lockers, found props, and set up a little classroom/school style setting to help families capture 2020's back to school memories. A true gem!!! We will treasure these photos for the rest of our lives, and remember Nola's kind energy that she brought to our special day. I highly recommend Nola for commemorating any of life's precious moments!

I cannot express enough of how talented this woman is! First of all, you see how much love and fun…read moreshe and her family have together and you know that she's bringing that same energy and fun into the sessions. She's captured my kids at an age where my older two teenagers would actually allow it. I am glad that she was able to because those photos/stages of their lives I will reflect on forever. Everyone I refer her out to, I never have to stress because they all come back telling me how much they loved her and how comfortable she makes them feel in front of the camera, often times, feeling as if the camera isn't there at all. I personally love the art of storytelling and Nola and her son Devin are some of the best story tellers in our generation. So if you want to support a small business, this family is an all in on.

From the very beginning, Meg was our point of contact. She was very professional and incredibly quick to respond to any questions we had. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Every question we had was answered quickly and clearly, which made planning so much less stressful. Our lead photographer was Kevin. We met at our engagement shoot where he made us feel completely comfortable (we can be quite awkward!). The engagement photos came out beautiful and people loved our save-the-date photos! The wedding day was super hectic but Kevin was super PRO with handling the chaos. Dan was also great as our second photographer -he is always smiley! They were calm, reassuring, and knew exactly what they were doing. The photos are absolutely stunning, beautiful, light and airy. The lighting, composition, and attention to detail truly exceeded our expectations. Looking through our gallery felt like reliving the entire day all over again, from the big moments to the small candid ones we didn't even realize were happening. We cannot recommend them enough!

I'm so glad we got in contact and they were open for our wedding date! From the moment we met Jenna at our engagement, to the day we got our wedding photos has been such a pleasure. She is professional, funny, and makes you feel so comfortable working with her. My husband and I are not very lovey dovey and are definitely super awkward haha but she made it really fun during our shoot and during the wedding! You definitely will not regret booking her for your photos! Also, we received so many compliments on how the photos turned out!! We're so happy to have them for our forever memories!!

He arrived on time and worked his camera tirelessly for almost 10 hours capturing our entire wedding. He even kneeled on the ground to take many of our photos which to this day we are still amazed by his professionalism. Great work ethic as well. You would think for a 10 hr event, many photographers would take several breaks but not James. He took so many photos and urged us to take more pictures. Communication was fast, responsive and stress free. We were very comfortable with him on our big day as well as for our engagement photos. The only thing I would mention is to practice poses ahead of time, some were a little repetitive and lacked the "instagram wow" feel but if you're someone not good with posing, James will give suggestions so don't worry. The best part is you get to keep all of the photos not just the selected edited ones. I now realized not all photographers will give you the entire gallery which would be a huge disappointment for your big day. I like his editing style which is realistic and authentic with enhanced color. As many mentioned, turn around time was super fast. James also made several small edits to our final gallery to make the pictures even better. Pricing was reasonable. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
