Delicious shrimp- not heavy on the breading. And the homemade banana cake with cream cheese frosting is delicious

We ordered our meal over the phone at 6:40 today (Sunday). When arriving at 7:00 pm, the woman at the restaurant would not give my the wife the food nor ring her transaction up, until she finished scolded my wife for showing up at 7:00, when the close. My wife said that she would have understood if they told us that they weren't taking any orders when we phoned, but they did not say anything. My wife was finally able to pay for the food & leave. When home we found out after all that, they were missing items in our order, and the chicken we did receive was very rubbery. THOROUGHLY disappointed in how they treat their customers. Good Lord, these are literally the best fried shrimps I've ever had! Fried shrimp is one of my all-time favorite foods and I've had it in more places than I can count. The large fried shrimps at Shwings are pure perfection and I have never had better. Their fried clam strips, wings and other offerings are to die for as well. My brother brought me here against my interest based only on the name, I was so surprised by the greatness found here, the employees are friendly and the food is just perfect. Anywhere can do wings and shrimp but it takes a little love to do it well. Their cooking process must be dialed in to a science, we got clam strips, chicken strips and fish chips all were cooked perfectly and the sauce especially the Buffalo and cajon are so good I wanted a bottle for my house. After getting off a flight at O'Hare and having a couple hours till a coworker's flight got in, I looked up chicken wings on Yelp and found this little gem. The sweet Italian lady started the business after leaving corporate life. It's clear to see she enjoys what she does and does it well. The lemon pepper and buffalo sauced bone in wings I had were delicious; the right amount of crisp and very tender meat. The staff is very friendly and I loved seeing neighborhood kids coming in for an afternoon snack. Felt like home. read more

The food is pretty good and fresh. The only problem I have is the order taking.....If they incorrectly write your order down, they seem to think that YOU have something to do with them taking your order wrong. An online order taking system would solve this immediately. read more

Excellent chicken and shrimp can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Must try the homemade stuffed artichoke and the soups! If you get the chicken strips or wings try the sweet heat it's awesome! I feel like I paid $18,for fries...First of all the prices listed on the Yelp pics have changed.I posted a picture of my receipt,anyways..the garlic parmesan wings were ok,they could have actually been crispy(like I read in a few reviews)..They taste like Wing Stop,but with a little more real garlic flavor. The "Jumbo shrimp" is the size of the regular shrimp at Goose Island..or a tad smaller.My meal came with 7 pieces of shrimp..the 1/2lb meal. The shrimp lacked FLAVOR! For the 100th time..you MUST season the breading when frying food..or all I taste is fried flour..yuck ..it was edible once it was dipped in the shrimp sauce,but ALL food must be great by itself and a sauce should only enhance...the fries were fresh cut and great..I'm in no hurry to eat the rest,maybe the chicken if I crisp it in the oven....And there are plenty of better options on the same street where I can eat with $18 And have leftovers,this place is overpriced and under seasoned (the shrimp)... read more

It seems pretty odd to have a shrimp restaurant near a strip club and occasionally you'll see a stripper or two in there. It's not a very good area so I suggest you get takeout. Probably the best tasting shrimp in this area though. I love the breading and the shrimp tastes so fresh. I recommend getting the Cajun cocktail sauce for the shrimp, it has a nice kick to it. I also tried the Fried Catfish, which was pretty good. I even ordered the Cod fish and I thought it was excellent. As for the chicken wings, I have never had them but my cousin said they're good. The place is very clean and the owners are some of the nicest people around. Definitely get the shrimp! It's great! read more

I have been to Shwings several times and have not been disappointed. I'm used to going to places like BWW or hooters but shwings takes the (cheese) cake! My husband and I were looking for a local place with fried shrimp...used Yelp and found this place. I was a little concerned about whether or not we should take it to go or eat in as that part of Stone Park is notoriously sketchy (it's in the same place as Carl's Strip Club). Fortunately, this place is at the opposite end of the mall and it's quite clean with good decor. The man who waited on us "Mike" was very nice. We ordered the fried clam strips, lb of large fried shrimp and the 10 piece buffalo chicken strips. They were all very good and we would definitely return and I would also recommend it. read more

This place of Shwings is really awesome. They have the best chicken wings in the whole city and it is the best I have ever had. If you are a person with big cravings for chicken, a person like me. This is definitely the best ones to spend the money, when I came here, their place was quite neat and cool in the eye, it is just the perfect size and they are very organized about their stuff and as well as to their utensils which is pretty cool. Also, coming here in this resto was quite neat because whenever I come in, the staff would already greet me. Some are also already close with me as well. The time of giving their orders is not that quick but definitely, definitely worth the wait once they already give it. One of my most recommended food here are of course their delicious chicken wings, crispy and nicely cooked. Their clam chowder as well, fried shrimp, it can be perfectly paired with the wings, their fried fish are nice too, their clam strips and of course, chicken nuggets! Just thinking of them already makes me think of going there for another time. Their sauces are very flavorful and really neat to partner with your orders and their drinks! I would have given a higher score if I was grading on only the food. I don't think there's a single item on the menu that isn't fried that being said. I expected it to take 5 to 10 minutes to get my food at this dine in "fast food" joint. I took almost 40 minutes. Did I just sit down for fine Italian dining or great steakhouse. Oh that's right I came in for quick hot food. I've got no complaints about the food preparation or quality but these guys really pissed me off especially because I was starving. I just remembered I forgot to add that I asked at least three times what the status of my food was I was told a few more minutes than 10 minutes and when I asked the guy at the counter what happened he said sorry. No offer for a dessert or something for taking way longer than it should have or not for filling the times that he told me. I would've rather been told the truth instead of just trying to deceive me like I wasn't wearing a watch. read more
