Every time we come to Council to visit we always plan on getting pizzas from here because they are absolutely delicious. This last week we picked up multiple pizzas for family visiting. We were passing through town at dinnertime and took a chance on eating at a small town pizza joint. We were surprised and delighted with the quality of the pizza here! Fresh ingredients, homemade sauces, and a tasty crust were all used on some unique pizzas. My wife built her own while I ordered the Chicken Carbonara which includes a spinach artichoke heart cream sauce with fresh mushrooms, bacon, chicken, tomatoes, and onions. It was superb and I'm not a fan of heavy cream sauces like alfredo; this was a lighter cream sauce. My wife ordered a build-your-own pepperoni mushroom pizza with light sauce and loved it. The only criticism was that the crusts were a little overdone, especially my wife's which was black on parts of the bottom, but you could not taste a burnt flavor. The service was average; the attendant at the counter could not tell us the answers to some detailed questions and didn't make any effort to find out but the service time was typical for a fresh-made pizza on a fairly busy Tuesday night. The place was very popular for both dine-in and take-out. There is an outside covered patio which more than doubles the small inside dining space. The inside is LOUD so don't expect a quiet intimate conversation when you go. The place could use a little attention to detail in clean-up, the bathroom door had dirt and grime that could have been easily removed. Sizes are small, medium, large and extra large and value increases with size, naturally. The prices are not inexpensive but we felt that the quality of the pies was worth the cost. We are pleased to have found a good spot to eat while we are out on western Idaho day trips. read more

I was in to pick up wings and a salad. While the food is great quality, the customer service leaves alot to be desired in person and on the phone. Especially the newer older lady taking orders tonight on 9/3/25. She was very rude and acts like she hates her job. She has a snooty tone of voice and needs to learn how employees attitudes affect customers. As long as she works there i will not return. When it was picked up she made sure to take care of customers that had come in after me before me. Make sure if you want to run a business properly the employees are trained in how to appropriately talk and converse with their customers. Customers are the only reason a business will flourish. So treating them as such would be a good start. read more

Great selection of pizza styles that go beyond what they franchise pizza places offer. And their mozzarella twists are to die for.

We go to Shy Simon's at least once a month and it is always excellent. I highly recommend you try it out.

For a small town this restaurant has good food. My grandson wanted fettuccine and the first question I asked is the sauce homemade? The waiter replied yes, it is. I got a chicken sandwich. The only thing I would've changed on it was to remove the sprouts. Coleslaw was really good. Grandson loved his fettuccine alfredo. Service was friendly and fast. read more

Stopped in here on our way to some hot springs for lunch. So glad we did. Both the food and the service were amazing. My husband had the turkey club sandwich and loved it. Everything was fresh and tasty. I had a person pizza that was delicious. I got the artichoke spinach sauce and it was so yummy. My only complaint would be that the artichoke hearts I ordered on my pizza were marinated. I wasn't expecting that. Thought they'd just be plain. Not a big deal but worth noting as the menu didn't specifically say marinated. Still good though and we'd definitely go there again. Another bonus was an unusual soda option there (at least unusual to me- never seen it before) was pineapple cream soda. Was super tasty. I've been here exactly 4 times in the last few years. Once on a long trip around Idaho. Again just for the sandwich and to pick up a vehicle nearby. Two years later I went an hour out of my way twice on the way to and from McCall from Boise. Why? It's a bit of a story. Our van broke down about 10 minutes south a few years ago. We got a ride here to sit and wait for the van to cool off. I remember it like yesterday, because on that day, I had the worlds best pastrami sandwich. The rest of my family had other stuff that was all very good, and we had a couple pretty cold beers too. But that Pastrami Sandwich was ridiculous. So much so we drove from Boise a few weeks later. We were picking up a vehicle nearby but it was the sandwich I went for. Two years later planning a long trip, we took that same route out of the way just to stop by again. On the way back too. We're taking the same trip again and There was no question if we were going the long way. I MUST HAVE THAT SANDWICH AGAIN. The service is solid, they're patrons are nice to us as well. read more

This little pizza place is great. We recently moved to Council and we are so glad we get to enjoy this little gem. The pictures do not do justice to how delicious the food is. We got the chicken Alfredo pizza, a pepperoni and sausage, and the cheese breadsticks. It was quality, fresh, and delicious. It had that fresh homemade flavor and the staff was so nice. When late fall arrives and the local golf course's close down we load up my friends Explorer and head down to Council to play at the local golf course, which is a blast to play. About 15 minutes out we call ahead and order pizza. They have the best pizza bar none at Shy's. It beats any pizza that's made in McCall ! All the ingredients are fresh and top quality. The pizza crust is amazing. They have super cold beer poured in a frozen glass. One of the beers they have is a Deschutes Porter which is yummy. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait for the pizza, but be patient, it's worth the wait. The atmosphere is small town friendly, as is the staff. read more

I was staying over the night at a local truck stop and was looking for something to eat and came across this place near by so I offered my friend to go.. we were both pleasantly surprised how really really good this place was just like the others mentioned in the reviews.. The staff were really friendly locals, THE PIZZA, don't get me started , it is not like your usual Pizza Hut or even papa John's.. This is an authentic moms and pops pizza place and it's beyond better then the usual pizza chains.. you can just taste how different it is..
