I called SI restoration after a hot water heater flooded my basement . They came out and during the inspection we found mold that also needed to be taken care of. they dried the basement than told me I needed to get a mold remediation protocol and also test for asbestos. I did that sent over the documents and I got an estimate to remediate the mold. the protocol didn't even seem to be considered in this estimate. They missed so much. I would not recommend this company. They gave conflicting information from the start. Their invoice reflected items that didn't even exist when I questioned it, they told me to go find a handyman. The took many many days longer than it should have because they refuse to cut through the drywall. They said they were not permitted by the insurance the insurance company said they most certainly were. They were so rude and disrespectful and as an elderly grandmother, this was very upsetting to me. Even their final invoice for the drying was inflated higher than what they had initially told me. My electric bill with sky high that month because their machines were there for so many more days than necessary. Shame on them for taking advantage of an elderly grandmother. read more

Pretty weird experience. My insurance company requested SI Restoration to come inspect the damage and provide an estimate. When I was contacted from SI it was from a number of different people all with different phone numbers, none of which identified the callers as SI employees. SI did arrive on time to the appointment but wanted to commence all work without providing an estimate. The estimate wouldn't be provided until all of the drywall, flooring and mold mitigation had been completed. Assuming my insurance coverage was inadequate I could have been stuck with a huge bill or worse, a torn apart unfinished project. Definitely going to a competitor for a more professional experience. read more

Last Sunday, I awoke to a strange noise in the kitchen. I went in to find a wet floor due to a compromised dishwasher hose! My wife and I turned off the water and called the plumber. I am pretty handy, so I figured we would just have to dry up the floor, and all would be done. That's when we heard a crash! The finished basement ceiling had been soaking all night and collapsed. Not only that but the wall-to-wall carpeting was soaked! The plumber gave us a business card for SI Restoration. SI Restorations rep Robbie came out immediately to assess and got his mitigation crew to come out the same day. Thank God! Si sent out a miracle by the name of Kevin Hampton! He was here in just 2 hours. By now my wife was in tears as we tried to get electronics, precious family photo albums, and our daughter's bed out of the wet basement. The water had cascaded down the walls under the kitchen soaking the drywall as well. The weight of the amount of damage caused was overwhelming! Kevin calmly and professionally took control of the situation. I asked him how could I help. (I am 64 and have Parkinson's disease) He said Mr. Walsh. go upstairs put your feet up in the recliner and watch football. I have got this. The man worked from that afternoon well into the night removing the wet carpet and padding, drywall too! He took pictures and used a moisture device to detect how far the water had reached. Documented everything he then set up a lot of air-wicking machines and mold removers. Kevin left late that night only to show up with a helper the next morning. The water infiltrated into the dining room wall as well as the adjoining living room. If it was wet, it was documented and dealt with. When my Insurance agent came in on Wednesday morning he couldn't believe how much work had been done and done so well! Kevin turned our nightmare into a livable situation. SI Restoration has an exceptional expert in Kevin Hampton. We can't thank him and Si Restoration enough! We strongly recommend them if you ever find yourself in a similar situation. Her direct assistance and patience in explaining all details to me as well as introducing me to new technological methods of completing my paperwork swiftly for my insurance company was amazing. I give these guys 3.5 stars. On October 2012 Had water leaked from my toilet on the 3rd level and it affected the 2nd and the 1st levels. SI Restoration was preferred by my insurance company. They came quickly around 7pm and had a team of 6 guys measure moisture levels and then they proceeded to take out the affected areas - molding, the flooring and then finally, a portion of the ceiling on the 2nd and 1st level. Several were friendly and answered my questions. The men working on the 1st level cleaned up after themselves; however, the crew working the 3rd and 2nd level did not place plastic over my new furnitures for protection and did not cleaned up after themselves so I was left until 1am cleaning up the mess. It would have been nice if they paid more attention to this type of detail. Customers will greatly appreciate it. I don't expect it to be spotless, but since I live in the house, it would have been nice if they cleaned up after themselves as courtesy. Removal of the moisture is still in progress. They placed dehumidifiers and blowers on all levels and taking moisture level test every day until its completely dry. They said it could take up to 5 days. The company will then proceed to restore my place to its original. We'll see how that goes. Will meet up with an estimator today. Will update as work progresses. Update: My placed did get fixed in January 2013, but not by SI Restoration. read more

In August, our condo was flooded by a burst pipe next door. The initial contractor assigned to us by our insurance company, had one delay after another for multiple reasons. After over 2 months, I got another contractor. SI Restoration. This company made all repairs within two days. On the second day, the crew stayed 12 hours because they knew what we had been through. They were very hard workers, focused, respectful, kind, caring and their work was impeccable . These men communicated with each other, hence allowing the job to run smoothly. Josh, you made this happen. When I told you how we were forced to live in squalor for almost 3 months......you had your crew here the very next day. All repairs done in 2 days. Amazing. You showed compassion, kindness, empathy and concern. You listened to my problem and you fixed it. You and your crew fixed it...when no one else would. I wish I had read the other reviews of SI Restoration on yelp before I contracted the company to remediate my basement. In October 2017, I contracted SI Restoration to remediate mold in my basement caused by water intrusion and a leaking boiler. I replaced the boiler, replaced a pipe leading from the street to my home and waterproofed the basement. I had a two-year warranty with SI Restoration in which the company agreed to remediate again if mold returned within those two years. The warranty did not place any conditions on remediation, but merely stated that SI Restoration guaranteed they would remediate if mold returned. Well, this month mold returned and SI Restoration is refusing to honor the warranty. Their Vice President told me that because water intrusion occurred again in the basement, the warranty does not apply. No where is that condition stated in the warranty. Very disappointed by SI Restoration. Unfortunately, based on this recent experience, I do not believe that the company is trustworthy. read more

Called SI Restoration because my husband and I thought we may have mold in our basement and we wanted to have an expert check it out. The contractor came and told me that we had "some sort of growth" on our basement rafters and attic. He said that he couldn't legally tell us that it was mold, but having a test done is expensive and that they are experienced in visually determining that it's some sort of growth. He told me that it would be roughly $6,100 to remediate and that we needed to let him know in a couple of days or the price would go up because he was losing some of his guys to another job. My husband and I called another company to get a second opinion. The contractor from this company said that he didn't think that we had mold, and said that he could have a test to confirm. The test was only $75, and IT WAS NOT MOLD!! I feel like SI Restoration was just trying to take advantage of us, so buyers beware. Maybe they do a good job remediating IF you have mold?! However, make sure that is a fact and have a test done. :/ read more

We had two separate water damage claims a couple of months apart. Our Insurance company assigned SI Restoration as the clean up team for the second claim and the restoration company for both claims. The process from the initial damage to the beginning of work was delayed by the second claim. There were some communication problems as the planning process for the job was happening but we dealt with them. Once the restoration work started the crew did work quickly but it was unpredictable (despite several questions to the project manager) what part of the house they would be working on for any given day. This complicated the situation presented by the project manager who advised that even though the job included moving our furniture and household items, we should move anything particularly valuable ourselves - hard to do if you don't know when they will be working on a particular room or floor. One week into the Restoration work, a subcontractor of SI Restoration destroyed our kitchen granite counter tops. I was extremely frustrated that while SI Restoration was aware of the damage, no effort was made to contact us - no phone call, no email or text. We discovered the damage when we came home and saw the broken granite in our garage. It took two days to get a meeting with SI Restoration and while they were quick to acknowledge responsibility we now had no workable kitchen (cooktop removed, sink removed, stove and microwave electrical was cut off), this was 10 days before Christmas. We found a granite company to replace our counter tops. SI Restoration was moving so slow that we put down the cash deposit to secure the granite and the work and had to be reimbursed and the job almost didn't happen as scheduled due to SI Restoration taking so long to arrange for full payment with the granite company (a little extra effort on their part would have been appreciated after causing over $10,000 damage to our home). We still were forced to eat out (costing us over $1,500) for over 3 weeks while we waited for the kitchen to be rebuilt. Additionally their crew damage one piece of our furniture and spilled paint on a new area rug purchased to replace one lost in the damage. The job was 'completed' on 31 DEC and when we received the final bill and checks from the insurance company that required our endorsement, we noticed over $7,500 in work that had not been done (some at our request to credit that amount to other work and some that the crew just skipped but we were still being charged for). We submitted our discrepancy list to SI Restoration and they sent the project manager, a quality control manager and a second project manager to review the list. The project manager was adamant that all the work had been done, but as I walked him through the list in our home and pointed out where work was not done he remained adamant briefly until I suggested I get a lawyer. Even the quality control manager and second project manager were agreeing with me that the items were not done. Also, in the rush to finish the job the crew did sloppy painting, drywall & joint compound work and failed to fill in nail holes in crown molding and some flooring and have yet to touch any of that up. It took nearly 2 months to get a written agreement that SI Restoration would pay to repair the damaged furniture and rug and replace them if they are not repairable. This agreement only came after we refused to endorse the insurance checks to pay for the job. 2 1/2 months after the work was 'done', we are still waiting for communication on the touchups and we are fairly frustrated at the lack of communication and effort to get this resolved. Update 22 Apr: We were supposed to exchange our damaged rug with one of your quality control managers for the replacement rug that we were told had arrived. He did not bring the replacement rug so I have again declined to endorse the payment checks from our insurance company. I rearranged my schedule and took the afternoon off; your internal miscommunication has once again cost us time and money. For a company that is supposed to help people put their homes & lives back together after home damage, you have cost us lost work, used vacation days, over $2,000 in out of pocket expenses to cover the damage your workers did to our home and hours of work on our part to sort out an attempt to overcharge our insurance by $7,500 for undone work in addition to considerable amounts of stress. This is unsatisfactory on the part of your employees. read more

Do not use this company! My place suffered a water damage recently. These guys responded fast, yes. But they just kept their machine on and charged us without justifying why, after the place has been dried up. For a week, they only left two injecti-dry pads on a part of floor that was barely in water and said that they were drying the wall!! Pads on the floor can dry the wall? what a joke! read more

Marvin was excellent at explaining what was happening and trying to make it convenient to leave work every day for the readings.
