The food is good, but one thing to be noted is the portions are huge, so you may need a to-go box if you can't finish your plate. The service is surprisingly fast and the staff is friendly and cordial. The ambiance is really nice here, this is definitely one of my new favorite Mexican restaurants. The interior is decorated well with elements of Mexican culture (as this is a Mexican restaurant). What i thought was cool is some is the chairs have unique landscapes painted on them, which not only adds the ascetic, but also gives the restaurant a more Mexican feel. I'm definitely more of a fan of smaller Mexican restaurantes but every now and then we meet up with friends at a bigger "sit down" spot. This is what I consider a "full service" restaurant. When you're seated you will receive the basket of tortilla chips and salsa. For some reason I have no control once this basket is set down in front of me! Great chips but just ok salsa. Our server was very friendly but also very busy. He had a few big tables along with a couple smaller tables to attend to. Since the bigger tables required tons more attention us at smaller tables had much longer waits but he really did do his best to get to everyone. We chose the chicken fajitas and the molcajete. Both were good with nice flavors and served hot. We'd never been here before and wanted to try it out. It was pretty busy but they got us a table in no time. Everyone from the front to our server was very friendly. It was definitely a good atmosphere in there, especially for the amount of people. We ordered two margaritas and a burrito and some enchiladas. Now I preferred the Deluxe burrito dinner in the combination ordering area which you would think it came with beans and rice. One of my ways to test out a Mexican restaurant is by their beans and rice. Apparently it didn't come with the beans and rice and I was charged extra for those. Why separate it from all of the other burritos and put it in the combination section and call it a dinner if it doesn't come with the beans and rice??? I'm still a bit confused over that. They should've just left in the burrito section and left off the word dinner to be more clear. While we both enjoyed our dinners and the margaritas, I would say that it was overpriced. The search for great Mexican food is a personal crusade and Si Senor is the top option I have tried in the Beaverton area. We had a sort wait which was curious for a fairly sizable venue. We were promptly served chips, salsa (very good salsa) and a bean dip while we perused the menu. 4.5 stars for their skinny cadalac margaritas. Everyone's food looked delicious at adjacent tables but we proceeded with the fajitas and chimichanga plate. 5 stars on both dishes (though I dispise shredded chicken in Mexican dishes). The staff was attentive and our waiter had a great sense of humor. The vibe is lively but not too loud to have a normal conversation. There is an option for mobile check out which was fast and easy. I live in Seattle and about 30 years ago a restaurant by the same name opened at a recently closed Shakey's location. It was the best Mexican food in the region. Unfortunately prices got high and the restaurant either went out of business or the owners sold out as a new inferior restaurant took their place. When I knew I was going to be in Portland I started looking for Mexican food and was pleased when I saw a restaurant with the same name with extremely high reviews. Thinking lunch would be our play, I checked out the website, but for some reason, they don't have a lunch menu online. We decided to risk it and we are glad we did. The place was busy and after talking to someone on her headset, the host sat us in the bar. After a long wait, we were getting ready to leave when someone finally came with chips and salsa. The basket of chips was mostly crumbs, but we made do. The salsa was zesty, but didn't have the kick I needed. There was a salsa bar in the entrance and the red salsa on the bar was really good and let me know someone appreciated rich flavor. The bean dip was also 10/10. Normally I don't get excited about bean dip, but this was phenomenal. The portion was hearty for a lunch serving reminding me that reviews claimed there was a good chance you would have leftovers. I was hungry and the food was delicious, so there was no chance I was leaving without a clean plate. The carnitas were juicy, tender and flavorful, but I tend to prefer a fried version instead of just roasted. Either way, it was 9/10, near flawless and based on the poor Carnitas I've had elsewhere, I truly wished this place was close to me. It would be a weekly stop. Service was slow, but the food was worth the issues and wait, if I could give any advice, it would be better communication. People had radios and used them, but service was still slow and sloppy. Improve the service and you will have to be reservations only because you have too much business. read more

We were thrilled to find a place that offered outdoor seating without a wait on a Sunday afternoon. They have added a tent with seating, and tables along the outside of the restaurant that has heat lamps. Inside the tent they added a gas fire pit. Thankfully, we dinned here on a warmer January day, so it was very comfortable dining outside. We were lucky to be here during happy hour, so we opted for the appetizer platter and a margarita. Our bill ended up be under $25 for me and my husband and we walked away with happy full bellies. I thought it was a great value. My only gripe is our server was not the friendliest. He didn't even explain how to access the menus until we had been seating there for awhile. For some reason my phone was moving slowly, and was taking forever to download the menu, but he still refused to give us paper menus. I realize that restaurants don't want another thing to clean so they avoid giving physical menus, but most make an exception either for the elderly or slow phones like mine. There was another server I saw walking around with a big friendly smile on his face. Sadly, getting more than a grunt from ours, pose to be a challenge. I've been here twice so far and excellent service both times. First visit I sat at the bar and this time I sat at a booth. I decided on the Chicken Enchiladas with Mole sauce, my friend got the chicken burrito. It was happy hour so I tried a Raspberry Margarita blended. Everything was very delicious. The mole sauce was very similar to how my mom used to make it only a little sweeter. So much food we had leftover burrito. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I'll definitely be back. As a long time customer, to my surprise, we were served another meal 'almost' inedible. Chicken Fajita's. The children was tough, cutting it with a knife was hard. It also had an odd, bite-back taste. The server was very nice and agreed there was something different about it...she thought it might have been the onions/peppers. The review is lower because I had ordered a lemonade and my server had asked if I wanted peach or strawberry lemonade instead and I had agreed on strawberry. I was not aware until the check came that the flavored lemonade was $5 extra. Now maybe I should've asked but typically if a server is offering a different option for a different price, they'll tell you. That was not the case here. They did offer to remove the $10 lemonade so that was greatly appreciated. Hopefully this will improve with all the new employees who were training today. Went for dinner with some friends and the overall experience was disappointing. Our table was in the back room, and it was SO loud in that area that we could hardly hear each other speak. As far as the food, the chips and salsa were decent but that was it. A mojito and 2 taco plate with rice and beans came out to $36. The mojito was $16 and I couldn't even taste the alcohol. The amount of food was small for the $18 taco plate plus they charged $2 for a tiny scoop of guacamole. The servers were friendly, but the food quality and quantity were NOT worth it. The ambiance was fun, relaxed, but authentic. My daughter was thrilled the quesadillas come with seasoned french fries. We also ordered cheese enchiladas with rice. The enchiladas we large, the enchilada sauce was more on the sweeter side and not as savory as we would like. The muy grande combo came with an enchilada, taco, chile relleno, sopito spanish rice, and refried beans which was enough for two people. The chips were crisp and salsas are flavorful. They've got a wide array of food options to choose from. I went with the birria torta and my bf ordered the pozole. Firstly, I've got the worst luck with bugs and two bees tormented me the whole time to the point I couldn't eat without them trying to also get a bite themselves. The staff was nice enough to help us relocate indoors. The torta was bland and the consome was even more bland. The pozole was decent and served as a better dip for the tostada. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted and treated like a Queen. The food was exactly what I had hoped for, but I wish I hadn't been so greedy because my friends and I were unable to finish all the food. Random strangers even bought me a shot and wished me a happy birthday! I never once doubted the quality of service here. I definitely recommend the margaritas to share. I'd suggest adding a shot. I love that the waiter brought me the shot separately because I know I'm getting a true shot of tequila and I have the freedom to control how much I drink. Loved that so much! When I played back the video that my friends took of me when the staff surprised me with the singing and stuff, I couldn't help but cry tears of joy. I will forever cherish the moment that the world stopped to celebrate my special day. The service was excellent both times, from two different, but equally cheerful and attentive servers. The two visits allowed us to try their chicken enchiladas with green sauce, pork with pineapple street-style tacos, chicken crispy taco, pork tamale and beef nachos. Some of the items were on the three item combination plate. Overall, the main courses, rice, beans and chips and salsa were all tasty, although I found the particular sauce used atop the tamale to be a bit on the bland side. The decor is comfortable and colorful, and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere was relaxed, pleasant and unhurried. We have been dining at this restaurant since moving to Oregon 6 years ago. It's no Tex-Mex, but it gets the job done when we're craving Mexican food. The food and service have steadily declined as the prices have skyrocketed. They put out a new menu about every 3-4 months with fewer items and higher prices. While I have come to expect that, today was a new low. The meal I ordered came with sour cream and guacamole, but the sour cream looked like it had been watered down and just squirted over the top of my food lightly. So I asked for some sour cream that I could dip my taquitos in. When I got the bill, I was charged $2.55 for a small scoop of sour cream. That is outrageous! On top of that, despite an empty dining room, I was seated at a table just outside the kitchen, so it was like eating in the middle of Grand Central Station. You would think with all that foot traffic, that I would have excellent service. Unfortunately that was not the case. Despite the many rapid passings at my table by my server, I had to flag him down every time I needed something including a refill on my drink despite keeping the empty glass at the edge of the table. read more

Well, Si Señor is now that place. Even with a 1-hr drive from our town (McMinnville), we find excuses to spend a day in Portland so that we can eat here. The service is prompt and friendly. Atmosphere is fun, kid-friendly. Prices are on par, especially given the portions and quality ingredients. And the food is just delicious.
