Last week, my husband and I came here for lunch and it was good. The salsa wasn't too spicy, but the chips are on the thick side. My hamburger was a frozen patty, but tasted ok. Fries were good. We decided to come here for supper, with friends, and wish we hadn't. I ordered fries with my fish, and got mashed potatoes. They are instant ones, as the other 3 ordered mashed potatoes. I sent mine back as I wanted fries. The other 3 had their food, and were halfway done when I finally got mine. I told them they could just sit and watch me eat (I was being sarcastic but it was the truth at the same time). My fish was rock hard and I tapped it hard on the table to show the waitress. I was only able to eat the middle of it, but it was way overcooked. The other 3 noticed their meat was frozen patties with instant gravy on it--with instant potatoes. We've seen better food. When we went to pay the bill, I asked if I could have something off for not just the food mistake that took forever to fix, but the hard fish I couldn't eat. The person wanted to give me a dollar off. I said are you kidding???? She asked if I wanted more off and I said of course I do!!! I got a whole whopping $2 off a late dish and hard fish. Once we got outside I apologized to our friends for going to a place that cooks frozen patties of meat for meals, and instant foods. We won't go there again. read more

My favorite place to eat in Deming! Ask for the white sauce when you get your chips. My favorite is the shredded beef tacos, but the #8 (green, of course) is great, too. They serve sopapillas and honey after the meal, which I might like just as much as the tacos. read more

Being a native New Mexican, now living in California, I am no stranger to Mexican cuisine. Si Senor delivered the best Mexican food in all of New Mexico. Not fancy like you get in Albuquerque or Old Mesilla, but just good, reasonably priced Mexican food. The waitresses are efficient and friendly. Very sweet little place with very friendly folks. I had the Burrito with beans and rice. Well prepared and nice presentation. The free sopapillas are a nice sweet touch. This is the top Mexican restaurant that we always refer people to while they are in town. Great job at wonderful service. The owners have really found a formula for a great restaurant. Another great thing is its prices are competitive, we can often eat a meal here for the same or less as Mc Donald's or other fast food places, including leaving a tip. There are plenty of other great New Mexican places in town, but most locals and tourists agree that Si Señor is the top of the list. read more

Out of ALL of the Mexican restaurants in town (and yeah there's plenty), Si Senior's by far my favorite! Have had most everything on the menu, but the shredded beef burrito platter (GREEN) is a safe bet every time. Horchata is good here, flan could be better but at least they have it. read more

Stopped here for lunch last week. Very good food, that is very inexpensive in a clean and bright atmosphere with excellent, friendly service. The 3 salsas here: red, green chile and white (sour cream and jalapeno) were all very good. (You need to ask for the green and white.) Chips are good, not greasy or overly salty. Cheese enchilada and red chile are excellent. Surprisingly, the red chile is hotter than the green and an unusual bright orange red color. Beef taco and rice were both good too. The refried beans were very good and prepared without added fat which was a nice surprise. The only item I didn't care for was the beef flauta; skimpy on filling and rather tasteless. Soda is served in cans so no refills. Overall, I enjoyed this restaurant and plan on stopping again next time I'm in Deming. read more

Good Mexican food - I love the Huevos Rancheros with green sauce or the Chili Rellenos. In fact the Chili Rellenos are made with Hatch chilies!! My kids adore the Sopapillos with honey. It is a quick trip on and off of I-10. read more

I absolutely love this place. I'm a big fan of the shredded beef tacos and my husband my have his chile rellenos. I don't care what the atmosphere is like or where I sit just having their food is a treat. We live in Arizona and occasionally run into the greasy overcooked mexican food but this place keeps it authentic just like my nana. read more

We stopped at this restaurant based on the glowing reviews. We were greatly disappointed. We live in NM and have eaten at many Mexican restaurants. I had the worst fajitas. The beef was dried,tough and had no seasoning. My husband had a pork dish of cubed pork, dried and no sauce. Yuck! First and last time. read more

Stopped for gas while driving from Phoenix to NC & got a recommendation of Si Señor for lunch. Service & food were both excellent. Food arrived very quickly. I ordered a combination plate so I could try a little of everything & my husband had a taco salad. Decor was very nice & everything looked clean & shiny. I used to live in Deming New Mexico and my very favorite place to eat was Si Senor. Everything there is wonderfully good!! My favorites were the chile rellenos, flat beef enchiladas and of course the sopapillas and honey. What I wouldn't give to get back there sometime soon!! read more

Well, I'd hate to be the one to give this place 1 star but we went here based on all the great Yelp reviews. We were on a cross country trip and ready to eat dinner at 7 p.m. After reading all of the reviews we settled on Si Senor. Our taste buds may be biased because we live in Southern California and are spoiled with really good Mexican food. We ordered 4 meals and all of us left more than half of the meal on our plates. My son ordered a beef burrito and said the beef was inedible, I ordered the carnitas which was SO dry and looked like chunks of charred breakfast potatoes ( I was expected shredded carnitas, but maybe that's a SoCal thing???), the flour tortillas were pretty greasy. We also ordered the "white sauce" everyone raved about...I thought it tasted like spiced up thick ranch dressing. If I had to choose, the best part was the sopapillas with the honey, if you rolled them in powdered sugar they could have been considered a "western" beignet. We were bummed that yelp didn't prove true for us this time and left hungry. read more

Very disappointed. We were traveling thru Demming in our motorhome when mechanical issues forced us to spend 2 nights in town. After reading all of the great reviews I thought we would give it a try. Now I will say that we got to the restaurant after spending 5 hours in the car driving to El Paso and back to get parts for the motorhome. We got to the restaurant at around 8:15 thinking we could at least enjoy a margarita only to find out they do not serve alcohol. Ok, no big deal at least I thought the food would make up for that. Unfortunately it didn't. I also forgot to mention that the staff was not too friendly when we got there. All of the waitresses were eating at a table. Turned out the place was closing at 9:00 so I felt they were annoyed when we walked in. Back to the food...the salsa that came with the chips had no flavor, only a lot of heat. I ordered the #1 combination and hubby ordered the 3 enchiladas. We both got the green sauce because the waitress said the red sauce was spicier. Well, the green sauce was too mild and lacked flavor. With the #1 combo I was able to try the chili relleno, tamales, enchilada and a taco with beans and rice. Hubby got my taco and he said it was ok. His enchiladas were pretty tasteless as was mine. The tamale was dry and filled with some red shredded meat that was spicy on its own but lacked flavor in the tamale that was tasteless as well and really dry. The chili relleno was one of the worst I've ever had. The pepper itself was tough and again completely tasteless. The only good thing on the plate were some cubed pieces of pork that may have come with the green sauce. On our way back to the car we passed a place that smelled really good AND looked like they served alcohol. I would advise one to try somewhere else if you're looking for good food. read more

Whenever we need to stop for food while near Deming, we go to Si Senor. We will even bypass all restaurants in Silver City just to eat here. There is nothing fancy about this place. Bottom line--they have good New Mexican food and it is always dependable--cheap too. The complimentary chips and salsa is a treat. It not only comes with the fresh fried tortilla chips, but two kinds of salsa. One is a tomato-cilantro style salsa and the other is a green chili cream dip (love it). They have traditioal New Mexico entre items such as chili rellenos, enchiladas, tacos, tamales, etc. The ground beef taco meat is mixed with potatos, which I'm not much of a fan of, but still good. They use a thick soft corn tortilla that is "fried" on the grill so it is sort of chewy--not a crispy taco that you might be familar with. One great thing abuot this place is that they give you sopapillas with combo meals. These fried bread and honey treats are ususally a fair you see in northern New Mexico. This is one of the few places in southern New Mexico where the come gratis with the meal. No beer or wine, but that is typical of small town dining. Give it a try next time you pass through town. read more
