Im shocked how much just coke products and regular drinks cost 3.50 now =/ we had good service. Food was good and we loved the salsa Parking lot is not the best. It's a shared lot with other stores. Can't give this more than 3 stars. Margherita's work weak with very little tequila in them, tasted like sour mix mostly. Why do I know, got 2 24oz Margs and never felt a thing, 5o years drinking them I pretty sure I know by now. Next chile poblano or also called rellenos had zero cheese in the center, this happens when the Mexicans use cheap "gringo" cheese that is "runny" instead of good Oaxaca cheese or at least Monterey Jack! Husband and I ordered the double order of chicken fajitas. It was average, at best. Not much flavor in the dry chicken. I'm not kidding when I say I have never experienced SO MANY onions in any dish I've ordered, EVER in my life...plus they used sweet onions (like Vidalia maybe?) which tasted weird in fajitas. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced. The portions are fairly large. They are probably what one would expect as a typical Mexican restaurant. Their decor is colorful, and, again, "typical". I don't know what happened to this place but my dinner there this past weekend was atrocious. In fact, everyone in our 3 person party's food and service were terribly horrendous. The menu has changed and they've also gone to QR codes in order to look at the menu. A classless move imo. In short, they used to have a Ribeye steak that was so good! I know, a little odd for a Mexican restaurant but it was something I enjoyed very much from there but this past weekend it all changed. For starters it was half as thick as it once was but that wasn't the big issue. It was gross! The meat was strangely spongy, a flavor profile that resembled mop water more-so than steak. It used to be sooo good! Why???? Let's face it, it's hard to screw up a ribeye and grilled vegetables but here we are, they've done it. One of out guests had the Chimichanga and again, hers was inedible too. Long, stringy, cooked for days, tough like rope, chicken breast. You literally had to choke it down. My other guest had the Taco Salad which she also could not eat. I tried that one too and in all fairness, it was the better of the 3 but it wasn't any better than a what you'd get from a the fast food place with the bell logo -and I refuse to eat there at all. Service was non-existent, ill-informed and couldn't care less for providing the basics. Plates, drinks, chips/salsa without having to track her down in the restaurant. The manager did step in and helped with delivering chips/salsa, beers and marg. All in all, I believe they are under new ownership and this new administration is way over their heads and/or trying to milk as much profit as they can rather than focusing on providing good quality food and service and that's where the real rub is for me. An inedible Mexican dinner for 3 was $93 plus tip for non-existent service is how you lose repeat customers. What a shame. read more

The atmosphere was like any other Mexican restaurant. They did have TVs to watch the game. The service was fast and great. The Cadillac margaritas were on point. I did have an order of guacamole for an appetizer. It was delicious. It was made with avocado, onion, tomato, and jalapeños. My wife said her shrimp chimichanga was delicious. I could not try it due to food, allergies. I do have to say everything on the sampler dinner platter was delicious. I believe they get extra kudos for the Chili Relleno, it was the best I have ever had. Instead of the basic red sauce, It was made with a Brown sauce with mushrooms in it. I hate leaving bad reviews but I need to say my piece. THE FOOD i started off pretty disappointed because I noticed there were only like 5 burritos to choose from. So I decided to try the Fajita Quesadilla. It was very bland and the Queso tasted like Plastic. Imagine taking a slice of craft Singles American cheese and just melting it without taking the plastic out. Altogether everything was VERY under-seasoned. In addition, the restaurant wreaked of Burnt death whenever they would bring out people's fajitas. And the biggest disappointment was the salsa. It was very sweet for some reason, so I ended up mixing in all the hot sauce, and salt/pepper that I could. THE SERVICE After waiting in line for about 5 minutes we were finally seated. 10 more minutes when buy before anyone approached us. A man dropped off some chips and salsa. 5 more minutes go by. My standard take out order is the Grande Chimi. With it they also include some of their medium heat picante sauce and delicious freshly fried, deliciously greasy that comes in a brown paper that has no chance of staying dry! . The total bill is under $20 and I have to cut it in two, consuming it in one setting will overstuff you guaranteed. In the past when I have ate there the service has been excellent. The carvings featured in every booth and the bar area of the Mexican culture you could occupy yourself for a significant period of time. This is my wife's go to Mexican restaurant. We haven't found a lot of good Mexican restaurants in the area, but this has been consistently good. Wife likes getting the "Yolanda" which is 3 chicken enchiladas, though she normally gets it with a queso sauce. I like their fajitas and their free chips and salsa (better than a lot of them). The servers are friendly and very attentive. Tacos, enchiladas, burritos, are what you would expect, but they have a very extensive menu, so try something different. Today I ordered the chicken soup - think chicken tortilla soup on steroids! This was the largest bowl of soup I've had at Any restaurant! I'll be eating this for a couple more days. The soup has rice, tomatoes, corn, Mexican seasoning, a Whole chicken breast, and garnished with slices of avocado. DELICIOUS! Spicy!!! Even the non-spicy food was on the spicy side, my companion reported. I ordered shrimp in a sauce the menu said was spicy, and that turned out to be 5-alarm. I couldn't take the sauce, and I'm not normally afraid of spicy food. Almost never has Mexican in my experience tended so far in this direction. I had to let almost all of the sauce drip off the shrimp, waving it above my plate with my fork, before I could eat it comfortably. However, the shrimp were of quantity, large and meaty, and the big plates with rice and beans (those were not spicy, except where they got in the sauce) were of entirely satisfactory size and quality. And the decor is as wild and intense as in any barrio place in LA, a bit showoffy but not looking insincere. read more
