This looks like the typical Chinese takeout place but there's something amazing hidden in the ginormous 208-item menu: cold sesame noodles. I'd never heard of this appetizer before. It's noodles in a thick peanut butter-like sauce that have to be eaten with urgency and singularity of purpose because they are not going to be the same later as leftovers. Bring them home and pour the whole tray into a large bowl to stir them until the sauce is evenly distributed on the noodles. When you eat them try to remember you have to share them with other people. It is rude to scarf them down and snarl like a dog at anyone who comes close to the bowl while you're eating. I've been coming here on and off for years and have eaten from Chinese takes outs all over the place, you would think that all of the take out places would be similar but nope, this place has been one of the best. If you want a point of reference, get some wonton soup from here and from another place and you will see what I'm talking about. Si Yuang is a pretty unassuming little storefront, but if you walk in, it's all bustle and business. They no longer deliver and have no seating, but the take-out is great. I love their spring rolls and scallion pancakes, but basically, everything is good. The egg foo young is lovely - fluffy yet crispy and brown on the outside. The way customers were treated today, Christmas day, was insulting and unwarranted. I waited at least an hour for my food and after another hour I walked out. They seemed to keep losing my order sheet, and kept telling me it's not ready yet. People were wall-to-wall waiting inside and it was unsafe. People were also walking out left and right. i've been going here for years. Sesame chicken is my favorite and this is the first place I've tried it . I think they might have changed chefs as the sesame chicken doesn't taste exactly as I remember but its still good. So we ordered 3 entrees as well as some apps from here last Friday night. First off our wonton soup was luke warm but once we heated it up it was very good. The egg rolls were also very nice, crispy, hot and tasty, and not too greasy. After this our experience went downhill. The double order of fried dumplings was pretty burnt on one side which permeated the entire dumpling. The dumpling sauce was watery, thin and flavorless as well. The chicken chow fun entree was completely tasteless, rubbery, and the noodles were totally overcooked and falling apart. The pepper steak was equally disappointing with little taste. However, the peppers were cooked perfectly and had a nice crunch to them. Onions, large but no taste. Oh, and by yhe eay they are cash only also, which is pretty lame. I hope the new owner takes steps to improve the food, as this place could be a gold mine and has been a staple in Huntington for a long time. read more

Went tonight for the first time after being highly recommended by a family who've lived in Huntington for 45 years. I loved everything I had. This will be my new go to place in the area. What impressed me the most was believe it or not their Steamed Vegetable Dumplings. Why? Because they are not like a zillion other Chinese restaurant dumplings which I really dislike. In Great Neck every time I take-out Chinese I have to go to two different places to get everything I like. One place for the dumplings and another for everything else. Was the best in town for decades, but there has been a steep decline on quality over the past year. My parents and I got food from here for over 30 years. We even came back to take out from Si Yuang after we moved out of Huntington. Something changed in early 2017. Food became flavorless and seemed to have far less thought and quality ingredients put into it. We came back several times, to make sure it was not just an off-day (all restaurants have one now and then), but it stayed as such. read more

The chicken was good but it wasn't what I expected. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and I received breaded chicken with a side of sweet and sour sauce. Wow. I am absolutely so disappointed with this disgusting and filthy restaurant. I've eaten there before at least two times and I was always in a rush not looking for anything fancy and always picking up something quick. This time when I went in, I picked up a dinner meal for my boyfriend and I to have at home. I ordered pork lo mein, cheese wontons, a wonton soup, and an egg roll. Let me tell you, I've had food positing well over 10 times from restaurants, but this was the most painful. My boyfriend and I woke up the day after with a stabbing pain in the stomach and from there we were up the whole day at work with vile vomiting and fatigue. When we met back at home we both had the same symptoms. We were throwing up until a good 3am. Until the second day rolled around, which is today and I'm writing this review because I will definitely be calling the city health department to have this place checked out, the restaurant is disgusting, you can see where they cook and how unsanitary it is!
