Boyfriend and I have eaten here twice in the past week (both To Go orders). I have a feeling this will be a new regular spot for us. The staff here are friendly and hardworking. I like that this restaurant has plenty of seating. There are smaller tables for an intimate party of two but they also have a table for 8 which can easily be turned into a table for 12. Portions in are pretty decent. Our first order was $80-something and that lasted us 5-6 meals, which isn't bad at all. Writing this review on a workday lunch hour and while there are customers here, you'll be able to be seated right away. This is conveniently located near Lake Balboa, which makes it a great option for an impromptu picnic at the park. This is in a small shopping center so parking might be tight sometimes. read more

Tucked away in a quiet little plaza, box Thai street food is nestled inside. Stepping into the restaurant, the air is thick with the aroma of chili, lemon grass & other delicious Thai scents. The coconut fried shrimp was perfectly fried with that crunchy coconut exterior & moist juicy shrimp interior with a sweet and sour tangy sauce. We also ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai & the green curry. I prefer my curry to be thicker, so I politely asked the hostess if we could send it back to be made thicker & she gave me a very curt, " No." My surprise only deepened when she said that if I didn't like it, I didn't have to eat it and she would just cancel the order. I was left a little taken back as I was not complaining about the flavor or that I didn't like it, I just said I wanted it to be made thicker but she said that was an impossibility & that quote, " is the way we make it!!" Updating my review from 2 stars to 1... The owner's response was dismissive and inaccurate. There were multiple people present during the call (on speaker), and our eyes LOCKED from the shock of the tone coming from this lady. Also, referencing another review that praised the service is irrelevant. One positive experience does not negate or invalidate a negative one. More importantly, I was told a refund would be issued. It has now been over two and a half weeks, and nothing has been received. That is unacceptable and shows lack of integrity. To be clear, the issue is not the incorrect order, mistakes happen. It is how it was handled: - Rude and dismissive response to feedback - Misrepresentation of the interaction publicly - Failure to follow through on a promised refund I had been a loyal customer for years and even recommended this place to others. Including the friend who lives down the street that we ordered from on this date of incident! Unfortunately, I can no longer do so. For context, feel free to review my other reviews...they are overwhelmingly positive. I do not leave negative reviews lightly. I am glad there are many amazing and friendly Thai restaurants in the area. My heart was broken but I hope I can help prevent a few from an unfortunate dining experience. read more

Don't let the small strip-mall location fool you--the inside is clean, welcoming, and beautifully decorated. From the moment you walk in, the service is attentive and thoughtful. I ordered the Tom Kha with a seafood mix, the ribeye salad, and a large Thai iced tea--and everything was phenomenal. The seafood was perfectly cooked, the ribeye was incredibly tender, and the flavors were outstanding. I went with hot spice for the soup and medium for the salad, and both were spot-on. This place truly deserves its great reviews--from the service to the food. I'll definitely be back (next time to try the Tom Yum), though the Tom Kha with coconut milk is absolutely amazing. Stopped in for lunch on a weekday. I'm not sure if it's always easy to park on weekends, yet managed to find a spot as soon as I pulled up. Decent size dining room and was greeted/ sat immediately. The Staff was very kind and accommodating. I had the chicken satay and cashew nut lunch special. Probably the best Thai chicken satay I've ever had. The chicken was cooked perfectly and still juicy. Can't speak to the service, we ordered delivery. The website was nice, and worked well. Upon receiving the food, we noticed the portions were a bit small. We were concerned, but this stopped being a problem once we tried the food. The spicy fried rice was bad. Flavor was okay, but it was a bit bland, and the rice was... damp? Didn't seem fried. The spicy fried rice was by far the best food we received. The chow mein was... like plain cooked noodles with some garlic on them, with some vegetables. One of my kids managed to eat some of it. I'm not sure how. The red curry was extremely bland (sensing a theme here), and kind of watery. Inedible. The pad thai was the worst. Noodles were dry, rubbery, and (again) bland. Didn't really taste like pad thai. All in all, terrible bland food. Ended up throwing most of it away. Pretty big waste of money. We're confused by the reviews on Yelp, which are largely positive. We love this place! We try to order a new thing from the menu when we visit and we enjoy what we get every time. But our favorites are Crying Tiger (steak), Pad Kee Mow (rice noodles), and of course, the Mango Sticky Rice! Staff is friendly and place is clean and roomy. We ordered veggie egg rolls, yellow curry and pad Thai. For the curry and noodles, we chose chicken thinking there would be a lot of vegetables and chicken. From salads to soups, noodles to curries, skewers, chef specials, desserts and appetizers - this Victory Blvd/Balboa Blvd Thai Food gem is tucked away in a cool strip mall plaza across from the Balboa Orange (G) Line Station as well as the infamous Birmingham Community High School (Sally Field, Tia & Tamara, Mychal Rivera - famous alumni). Good take out! Great for delivery! Dining in... Next time!! They had an awesome special on Pad Thai I couldn't pass up recently, especially because of their many vegetarian and vegan friendly and/or easy to modify items. Two orders of their delicious, well portioned Pad Thai (without egg) that lasted me for days plus loads of brown rice. Haven't had their coconut milk based curries, yet... But absolutely will be having in abundance if they're as amazing as the Pad Thai or those yummy fresh spring rolls I had a while back via Uber Eats. Gender-neutral restrooms + ADA complaint (including the main entrance). Parking is easy in a shared lot and almost never full. Second visit, and it's a crowded place. The last time i came by i was the only patron. Loving the ambience. I'm here for the same thing again: thai omelette. This time it's significantly better than before. The rice was soft and it really elevated the experience. The omelette is fried slightly more crispy -- it's still the soft kind of omelette, but now felt like what it should have been. Although crispy thai omelette still my top favorite, but i'm not mad at all about this soft style. Definitely will order it again. I thought this might be an opportunity to try a Netflix-style Jay Fei omelette but I don't think this is what the show highlights lol. The omelette was good but tastes like what a basic omelette would be imo. They have sweet looking fresh whole mangos for sale 2 for $5. The same ones that go into mango sticky rice dessert!
