Siam Cuisine shows up as Tempura House on receipts. The cowboy and I were seated right away when we walked in on 6/17/2023 at around 2PM. I like this place because there is a full bar. Where we sat, there were steps down and you can watch all the cars drive by on a one-way street. The decor was tasteful. The men's and women's restrooms were actually part of a shared area of the building which has a couple more businesses and another restroom, but they were a short walk away. There were times when it was super quiet and awkward with the nerd group who sat near us because the music stopped playing for about 10 minutes. What was the cowboy talking about? Roping older bulls that were fighting between fences in the mountains. Lol. Hope they enjoyed that discussion. Moving onto the food... Here is what we ordered: + Pineapple Sake Tinis ($9 each) - good alternative to just straight sake + Soft shell crab app ($10.95) - these were deep fried which the cowboy never had before. He liked them a lot. I thought they were okay. + Super Spider Man Roll ($14.95) - I tried a couple of pieces, but it was mainly for my significant other. Here's what it entailed: "Softshell crab tempura, asparagus, lettuce, masago, mayo, cream cheese, surimi, topped with eel sauce." + Beauty's Rainbow Roll ($13.95) - I chose this one and I'm glad I did. This was their description: "Surimi, cream cheese, avocado, topped with tuna, salmon, hamachi, fish egg, sesame seed." + Masago sashimi ($6) - just tried this sashimi style because I had never had it and didn't want rice to mask its natural flavor. It was alright. With soy sauce and wasabi it was better. Would probably not order it again, though, unless it was paired with something else... not sure what. There is another sushi place down the street. I'll be trying it next time to see how it compares to Siam. Service was good, food was absolutely terrible. Tom Kha Gai soup had way too much salt in a watery broth that needed three times more coconut milk. While the portion was generous, there was no galanga, no lime leaves, and no lemongrass. The rice used for my maki rolls was old and pasty, at least a day or two old with too much vinegar and sugar in it. My rolls had a gluttonous glaze like they had been precut and put into the refrigerator last night. The spicy tuna maki had no spicy anything added as seen in pic. Tuna was brown and dried out. I had one bite and avoided the rest; I don't need food poisoning. Maybe I'll feed it to my dog, but probably not. As I was leaving, foyer smelled heavily of bleach in the air. My husband and I arrived at the restaurant at 5 pm on New Year's Eve, and It seemed closed so we called from the car and was told they opened at 5:30 pm. We ran a couple of errands and came back at 5:20 pm. There were 2 tables already occupied and waiting for their orders. Hmmmm... I ordered the "I love Salmon" under the sushi/sashimi section. The salmon sashimi (5 slices) were shaped into a flower, tasted fresh and delicious. The salmon nigiri sushi was good also. My complaint is with the salmon sushi roll. I don't think it was salmon (see photo). It was not orange/pink in color, and it was salty. I could not complain to the server because she was the only server for 6 tables and was running around like a headless chicken and I felt sorry for her. It was NYE after all. My husband ordered the Mongolian Beef and enjoyed it. When it came to getting our check, my husband had to ask our server twice before she finally got the bill to us. I gave the restaurant a 5 star originally for a to-go order, but downgraded it to a 3-star for an in-person restaurant service. I think I'll stick to to-go next time. BTW, don't call in the middle of the afternoon, nobody answers. I guess they're closed but their hours say "Open until 9pm" which means they're open. read more

Best Thai food and best sushi !! Try it you won't be disappointed !! Personally I love Pad Thai but this restaurant can make it all !! If you like fish try the sushi and you won't go anywhere else. Ask for the specialty of the house if you want a treat. Give this restaurant a try ! read more

unfortunately I got really sick after eating sushi here...I was sick for 24 hours...it was awful. I don't like writing bad reviews but I felt like I needed to share my experience with the community. I eat sushi at least twice a month at different restaurants and I have never been sick like this. It definitely didn't taste the freshest but I was starving. Happened upon this place as it was just across the street from our lodging and boy are we glad we did!! We were greeted and seated quickly. Our server was kind, attentive, and answered all of our questions. My party ordered drunken noodles, pad Thai, and ramen. We all left stuffed and satisfied! It was absolutely delicious! They had a selection of Thai beer as well as typical American beers and wines. I tried the Thai iced tea (I'd never had it before) and it was SO GOOD!! I should also mention that we ate on a Sunday, when many restaurants and Alamosa are closed or have a wait time of 1 hour+. Our service was great, food was top notch, and the drinks were good. Wow, Siam Cuisine is the Best Restaurant in Alamosa to eat Sashimi/Sushi! The Service is excellent and friendly, the food is absolutely amazing and all plates come out artistically done! It's nice to see a family operated business that truly cares about their customers. Would definitely recommend! The food is great and fresh. You can taste all the flavors, and nothing is overpowered by the sauce. Spent 40 bucks on some sushi to go. Come home to open up everything and found a grey hair about four inches long in my food. I get that this happens but if your cooks had hair nets it wouldn't happen. 45 minutes for three rolls and when i got there the place was empty. Sorry I won't be back. The food is ok, and the salmon sashimi is fantastic. But there's no AC and you have to wait in the hot anteroom for the hostess to let you in. There's one waitress/hostess. Be prepared to wait a long time for her to take your order and then again to get your food. read more

Excellent green curry. It was spiced perfectly. Kids liked the veggie Yaki Soba, but complained there were too many veggies.
