First off, Alamosa is a quaint little town. We stopped here for charging and one of the locals had mentioned Thai House. We ordered the Pad Kee Moo (drunken noodle) with tofu, the tofu just enough crisp and the flavors of the meal--exceptional! We also added Vegetable Gyoza. They were delicious. My problem with eating the Gyoza was the dipping sauce, in a good way. It was like, can i have some Gyoza with the sauce? And will definitely be back on the next trip. This is our regular spot. Whenever we going out to eat, this is always on the list. My husband grew up in a Thai restaurant and this place is legit. Some of our favorites are the pad see ew and the sushi is the best in town (Recommend the Sunset roll and the JB Tempura roll). Our kids love the tempura and one of them has started getting hooked on the sushi. Everything we have tried has been perfect. The food was excellent. I recommend trying chef Gom's special called Gom's salad has a little spice to it. Very tasty. Confused this spot for Thai Hut. GO TO THAI HUT! We ordered the crab rangoons, pork gyoza, spicy chicken wings, pad thai, pad see ew, pad kee mao, a bloody mary and a thai tea. The appetizers were all decent and edible but nothing special. The pad thai does not come with bean sprouts or lime which was weird, but this was edible and will get your pad thai cravings satisfied. The pad see ew was flavorless and the pad kee mao was also not very good. If you're going to order an entree get it with just chicken or tofu, the beef wasn't good and the shrimp (as long as you like it fishy) made the entire dish have no flavor other than shrimp. My friend said the bloody mary did not taste like anything so we sent it back and they did not remake it and still charged us. We asked if it could get taken off the bill since we did not drink it and they said they had already used the ingredients to make it so they could not take it off the bill. Second Visit. Had a 2pm lunch at Thai House. Service was so much better by the lone gentleman in the restaurant's front end. He was very attentive and checked on us a couple of times. As expected, food was delicious. This is now my favorite Asian restaurant in the San Luis Valley. read more

We found a hair in our soup and when I informed the server, he got irritated with US; he didn't apologize, nor did he even say anything. That in itself is uncalled for! So, we made the mistake of confusing this with Thai HUT and didn't notice until we'd already ordered. I will say, the Thai iced tea was delicious and the service was great, but man the food it awful. Only edible dish was the glass noodle salad (as long as you don't mind pinkish green tomatoes). The pineapple fried rice tasted plain and slightly musty and I've never seen a dish as bland as the seafood noodle soup. It's pretty much plain noodles, water and seafood straight from a bag of frozen seafood - no seasoning. I hate leaving small businesses bad reviews, but there's no way anyone would look at that soup and think "oh, they're going to love it!" Should know better. Have a smaller menu and do less things, but do them well! read more

Love the food, service, and the environment! One of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been to.

We came into town excited to find a local Thai place. We ordered the nam sod, egg rolls, and calamari for apps. All were decent but the nam sod (pork) had way too much fish sauce. For dinner, we order Panang curry and the fried fish stir fry. The Panang curry w/ pork was watery (not creamy) and overly spiced with curry, the precut veggies tasted like they've been sitting out in the open in a fridge. They used cheap cuts of pork that were cut thick and tasted dry. My partner got the fried fish stir fry. The fried fish is lightly battered and was probably really good by itself but they serve it with the same stir fried veggies (that tasted like old fridge) and sauce on top that creates this slop texture. We ended up not touching any of our dinners after first bites and resolved to picking at the nam sod that wasn't sitting in sauce. And ate that with rice to cut the salty/fishy taste. It was disappointing. Even their soda was flat and syrupy. If your looking for southeast Asian flavors this is not the place. I spoke to a local and he said he only orders fried rice and Chinese stirfrys. The service was okay considering they only had one waiter and the vibe had more of family restaurant feel. Bump up the food quality and technique of Thai cooking and this could be a good Thai place. Until then, stick with the other Asian cuisines they serve. read more

Just visited Thai House in Alamosa. Great service overall. We were definitely taken care of, and the waiter was very attentive and efficient. We had delicious meals. I got the Pad Thai medium spicy and it was very good. I love the peanuts on it. I got myself a Thai Tea and it was delicious. They have the perfect Thai Tea! My brother finished his meal in 5 minutes he loved it so much. He got the sweet and sour beef and basically inhaled it. He was going on about how delicious it was! I would definitely come back here when I'm back in Alamosa! I highly recommend! It was also a calm environment and a nice setting to relax in as opposed to some of the other restaurants in town that were overcrowded and hectic! This place is such a great vibe! read more

By FAR the best thai in Alamosa. The service is always great and the food is even better. The prices are really good in my opinion. $10-15 dollars per meal (depending on what protein you get) is a great price and we always have left overs. My son loves the Pad See Ew with chicken so we almost always get that. The Tom Kha soup is delicious and if you like spicy, make sure you get that. I almost always get the soup every time I go. The star of the show here in my opinion is any of the basil dishes, but especially the Basil Fried Rice. I get it at spicy level 3 and I love it. Great dish. Love this place! Their Pina Colada is also delicious. I have seen a lot of reviews with people getting saying they got sick here, but we've never had any issues. My husband typically gets sushi and the seafood options and I get both the chicken and beef in usually a noodle or rice dish and we've never once gotten sick (and we eat here usually at least once a week). read more

I had to sit on this review for a few days. I have had Thai food in a lot of places, and I am not sure that I can hold a small restaurant in Alamosa to the same standards as one in a bigger city, so I have decided to be a bit gentle. The food here was pretty mediocre. Not awful, but also not great. I had the Thai chili and squid. The squid tasted previously frozen, and the breading was soggy, but the texture wasn't bad. My wife had the Pad Thai. The Pad Thai was a little heavy on the fish sauce, but otherwise edible. Presentation was definitely lacking. Everything just felt slopped on the plate. My big problems here where with the service and ambiance. The restaurant looked like it was falling apart with peeling paint and ragged carpeting. Our server was nice, but I would not call her a professional. When asked about the food, she stated that she either doesn't like any of it or has never tried it. Not a good sign. She was also dressed in a t-shirt and ratty jeans. While we were sitting there with empty glasses, she was sitting at the bar watching the notebook on TV. Like I said, she was nice enough, but didn't give us a good impression about the place. For the quality of the food and service, I would have expected much cheaper prices similar to Chinese or Thai dives in the city. However, this place was pretty spendy for what you get with entrees running between $12 and $16. read more

The food here is just plain AMAZING! Their chef is clearly some kind of genius, Alamosa is seriously lucky to have him. We stop in every time we get to Alamosa, most recently Feb 23, 2022. I had the Drunken Noodles with fresh basil sauce and I simply couldn't believe how good it was. Wonderful service, friendly and fast. Our favorite restaurant was closed for lunch, so we decided to give the Thai House another try......big mistake. I didn't see anything exciting on the menu so joined my husband at the buffet. I tried a bite of almost everything and didn't find anything that was really good. There was one item that appeared to have a Thai name....it tasted like scrambled, over salted ground beef with a couple of onions. This place is very up and running. Great friendly service which is very hard to find in the SLV. Their buffet is extremely reasonably priced at only $7.95 for their lunch buffet served everyday 11:00 am to 4:00pm. You can go across the street and get a mexican buffet for $10.95, and its quite smaller! Best buffet in the valley hands down! I don't think that I have ever been to a worse Asian restaurant. I was visiting Alamosa for a train ride and was looking for a place to eat and came across this establishment. The food was horrible. The rice in the sushi had no texture. It was as though as it had been pounded and then rolled. The sushi was rubbery and the cucumbers were not crunchy as they should have been if the cucumbers were fresh. The Thai curry was pasty and did not have much flavor. Ok maybe Chinese was their forte. Not so much even the Chinese food was bad. The Chinese woman that was working the tables was eating food from a fast food restaurant. I guess that should have been a sign that the food was not good. read more
