A surprising find for authentic Thai food. Both the Drunken Noodle and Green Curry entrees were quite good and similar to those from the Thai restaurants back home. Solid portion sizes too. The only drawback was the semi-chewy chicken meat. Stop by if you can!

We drove by a few times thinking hmm a new sushi place in this little strip mall? Maybe some day. Sounds like a gamble. Decided to check out the menu online and that pushed me to go try it. The online menu and gallery are beautiful and oh so extensive! We must go now! As soon as we pulled open the door, we knew this was just the beginning of a fantastic time. A cozy small space with curtains covering the windows, the multicolored wood paneling on the walls, everything was so very well put together and clean. The vast menu we previously saw online was now before us on a unique double sided placemat menu. So many choices. Waiter brought us some ice water right away, so I asked a few questions about the sushi. He informed us that he had fresh tuna caught that very morning! The waiter (chef?) asked me some more questions about what I like, what I'm wanting to try, how spicy, etc. I felt like this was a very personal touch because nobody can decide on a dish when the menu has probably 100+ things to choose from. In a short time, he knew what he wanted to make for me. Normally I just go for sushi rolls but this time I felt so comfortable trusting his suggestion. He said "I will make you fresh tuna sashimi Thai salad. How spicy do you like it? 1 is mild and 4 is hot. 5 is Thai spice. Hot." Normally I order as hot as they let me and its never really that hot, so I went for the spice level #5, "Thai hot." OMG it delivered the punch I'd been seeking for years. Within a few minutes, my brow was glistening with sweat and the flavors were just out of this world. A few more minutes my nose starts running. Then sweat starts dripping down the back of my neck and ears. Then the body shivers. Then cold sweats. It was HOT but so good and impossible to stop. My partner was getting kick out of watching me go through such intense burning pleasure. It was seriously one of the best dining experiences of my life, and I've been to some pretty high end sushi joints before. Waiter was very attentive and nice. We snapped a picture of the place including the sushi bar and drinks. We inquired about some brightly colored bottles of saki and he offered us some which he brought out in a bucket of ice to chill it. Clouded Strawberry Saki, chilled - amazing! Tiger Tears Thai Tuna salad - life changing!!! Green Curry with Chicken, to go - oh so savory and comforting in these cold months! I seriously want to try everything on the menu and cannot wait to go back. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. Other competition in Alamosa better watch out because this one is truly a gem that shines above others in so many ways. To the owner(s) if you are reading this: SO MUCH RESPECT TO YOU and your culinary skills. Thank you for bringing this to Alamosa! We love you and look forward to being your most frequent customers!

The food was delicious. We had the Tom Kah soup, Drunken Noodles and Yakisoba. The atmosphere was lovely: lighting, soft music. Service was attentive. Coming from CA wasn't sure what to expect here but was very pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend.

Outstanding! Treated like royalty and service is way above average. The food is like being back in a large city.

    Tuna tataki

Family lunch today could not have gone better. The staff are great, very nice very caring. The food is wonderful along with the ambiance. I tried something new today, Unagi Don. The presentation alone was beautiful I almost did not want to ruin it. It tasted wonderful. We also had some of the tuna tataki which was just the same. Both dishes melt in your mouth. They present things very beautifully. Drink selections vary so I'm sure any picky eater can find something to their liking.

This is an update to my first review (which was the first yelp for Sushi Thai!) This is the Sashimi Deluxe -all hamachi.

Big menu... sushi, teriyaki, noodle bowls, salads, etc etc We had tom kha gai (coconut soup with chicken), salmon teriyaki and red curry. Soup had good flavor, lots of chicken & plenty of veggies. Salmon was tasty with carrots, cabbage & broccoli. Red curry was VERY GOOD! The star of the show tonight. We drained every drop! Seasoned well for us...a touch of heat and very flavorful. Sadly, no room for dessert... I was eying the Sticky Rice. ;) The table next to us ordered lots of sushi as we were leaving & had obviously been here before. :) Would definitely eat here again!

We didn't get a very peaceful dinner due to the souped-up motors, but it was mostly enjoyable. My significant other and I agree that the sushi place down the street is just a little bit better, but not by much. This place used to exist across the street and further down the road. I verified that with our friendly and efficient host/waiter. Here was our supper of the things I actually tried: Spring rolls ($5.95) - they were okay. My daughter who ordered them wasn't a fan. Crab rangoon - good ($5.95) Egg rolls - really good ($5.95) Mince pork noodle soup - it tasted decent, but I can see why my daughter preferred her pork not minced ($10.95) Top Model roll - very tasty ($15.95) Thai iced tea - way too sweet for me. I didn't even have boba ($3.95). Taro boba tea - not too sweet. The boba was nice & chewy ($5.50). I'd go here again if a friend chose the spot. I'd stick to sushi. No rice noodles for me!

Where we sat, there were steps down and you can watch all the cars drive by on a one-way street. The decor was tasteful. The men's and women's restrooms were actually part of a shared area of the building which has a couple more businesses and another restroom, but they were a short walk away. There were times when it was super quiet and awkward with the nerd group who sat near us because the music stopped playing for about 10 minutes. What was the cowboy talking about? Roping older bulls that were fighting between fences in the mountains. Lol. Hope they enjoyed that discussion. Moving onto the food... Here is what we ordered: + Pineapple Sake Tinis ($9 each) - good alternative to just straight sake + Soft shell crab app ($10.95) - these were deep fried which the cowboy never had before. He liked them a lot. I thought they were okay. + Super Spider Man Roll ($14.95) - I tried a couple of pieces, but it was mainly for my significant other. Here's what it entailed: "Softshell crab tempura, asparagus, lettuce, masago, mayo, cream cheese, surimi, topped with eel sauce." + Beauty's Rainbow Roll ($13.95) - I chose this one and I'm glad I did. This was their description: "Surimi, cream cheese, avocado, topped with tuna, salmon, hamachi, fish egg, sesame seed." + Masago sashimi ($6) - just tried this sashimi style because I had never had it and didn't want rice to mask its natural flavor. It was alright. With soy sauce and wasabi it was better. Would probably not order it again, though, unless it was paired with something else... not sure what. There is another sushi place down the street. I'll be trying it next time to see how it compares to Siam. Otherwise, I would definitely suggest this place for a change of place whilst in Alamosa, CO. :) RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 4 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 4
