It can be difficult to judge the service when you're with a big group, especially when the restaurant is unusually busy. But for however long we had to wait for everything (menus, drinks, to order, our food, the checks), the food made up for it! When I visit a new-to-me Thai restaurant, I usually get the pad Thai or convince someone I'm dining with to get the pad Thai so I can try it. Pad Thai is my litmus test! The pad Thai here at Chiang Mai Thai Noodle was excellent. Perhaps some of the best pad Thai I've eaten in Indy. It wasn't too sweet, which was nice. Sometimes, pad Thai can get a little cloying, but this one was perfectly balanced. I got it with shrimp, which were great and perfectly cooked. Like I mentioned, I visited with a big group. We all got something different, and I also got to try the Crispy Spring Roll. They ain't kidding -- this is one crispy spring roll. The outside shatters with every bite. I think when I come back, I'm definitely getting my own order of these. Other people at my table got things like curry, tom kha soup and crispy basil duck, and every person loved their dishes. The portion sizes are also huge! I feel like you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, here. One thing to note: Their spice level goes from 1 to 6, with 6 being the hottest. Went this past week and was surprised about a few things: 1) When ordering online about 1.5 years ago, it was super expensive. In-person, its definitely a reaosnalbe price. 2) Portion sizes: They are MASSIVE. I was able to get two full meals out of it, and that is saying a lot. Our foodie group came to Chiang Mai Thai Noodle for some Thai food for dinner tonight. It was a wonderful dining experience and the food was absolutely superb. This Thai restaurant is very nice and I'm surprised I have not been here before as long as I have lived in Indy. The outdoor patio is beautiful and the ambiance inside is gorgeous with beautiful decor hanging from the ceiling. The service was friendly and professional, but it was slow because there were only two servers on the floor, which was the husband and wife from what I could tell, and the restaurant did get busy throughout the evening, so we had to wait a while to get our orders taken and to get our checks as well. They were busy with take out orders as well, so that contributed to the long wait as well. For this reason alone is why I am giving a four star rating. Other than that, the food was excellent and first class all the way. I ordered the tomkiha soup as a starter, which is a coconut milk soup with tomatoes, onions, and peppers. It was fantastic and tasted incredible. My main entree was the mango curry with rice which blew me away. It was spicy for a #2 level of spice, but it was terrific. The food here is spicy depending on which level of spice you get for your entree. If you do not like very spicy food, then I would recommend getting a #1 level of spice to be safe. You will not be disappointed with whatever you choose from the menu because it is all hefty portions and it will fill you up. A wonderful restaurant in Broad Ripple that does not disappoint and you will leave with a smile on your face. This is a wonderful Thai restaurant that everyone in Indy should experience. Hubs and I decided to go our first time , on a Sunday for dinner and found this beautiful restaurant completely empty. We were very sad to see it empty when the shops all around where hopping. We were met by staff right away and told to sit anywhere we liked, it is a great space with some bug tables for large parties. We had water in front of us before we even scanned the menu which is always so nice. The restaurant really is beautiful inside with umbrellas hanging from ceiling and beautiful art work on the walls. We had the jalapeño bomb as appetizer and it was amazing, seriously a perfect bite. I like the Pad Kee Moa at most places so I went for it. I wasn't sure how spicy to get it so I went medium, their medium is a mild at most places. It was still delicious and a huge serving. My husband has the cashew nut , he went with Hot and chicken. We definitely know we want spicier next time. This really is a beautiful spot with a parking lot of its own, and I hope to see it full next time we pop in. read more

This is the restaurant where I tried Thai food for the first time and fell in love with the cuisine. I have visited at least 5 times and I only had problems with the food once. I really love their pad thai but decided to try the thai boat noodles for the first time and really loved it. It entailed different parts of the cow (skin, intestines, muscles, etc) which all melted in your mouth. The broth was hearty and flavorful. I expected the coconut sauce for the mango sticky rice was not as creamy as I anticipated but overall the dish itslef was decent. The fried rice was delicious. I recently went to this restaurant with my niece and nephew on a rainy Saturday night. We were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and seated. My niece ordered the Lard Nah and my nephew ordered the Green Curry. As is their tastes, they ordered it mild and both were very happy with their meal. I ordered the Pad Kra Pow medium, but given my tastes, should have gone for hot. [I will note that some Thai restaurants scale down their spice level for American tastes and some do not - this restaurant seems to fall into the former category.] Still, it was very tasty and I would have that again, or try something different from their extensive menu. One of my go to carry out spots! We always get the khao soi chicken and pad Thai beef! It is consistently good and the khao soi ingredients are all packaged well that each part remains fresh. The first time I went here, I left feeling unimpressed by the Pad Thai. This time around, I switched it up and got the green curry fried rice and really enjoyed it. Noted was some non-tender, pretty chewy chicken dishes. The menu as changed. The group decides, overall, that it's better than 2023. There is a 20% auto-tip factored into the individual bills. Hidden gem in Broad Ripple!! With ample amounts of parking this restaurant is tucked on Westfield Blvd. We were hungry driving around Broad Ripple and decided to stop here blindly with not even a yelp or google search for reviews. We were pleasantly surprised by the service, price point and delicious food!! This restaurant also catered to vegetarians which is sometimes more difficult to find with Thai Restaurants. On a Sunday evening, we found ourselves walking Broad Ripple and wanting to try something different. This little spot caught my attention because we love Thai food. It looks a little more upscale in the photos than it is in person. The restaurant could use some updating and cleaning, I was a little embarrassed that I'd recommended it to our party once we went inside. I've lived in Broad Ripple for about 6 months and somehow had not heard of this place. I've also been visiting abroad Ripple for a dozen or so years and haven't heard of Chang Mai Thai Noodle. How is that possible? It's right between Bazbeaux and Petite Chou. We went at like 4 so there were like 2 other people in the building. Had low expectations. I then had the best curry I've ever had in my life. And I eat a lot of curry. I'm a huge Thai fan. The Pad See Ewe was also great. But that curry, with the level 3 spice, was just perfect. Tucked away in Broad Ripple near the canal, Chiang Mai is one of my go-to takeout and lunch spots. The quality is always consistent and they have a fabulous lunch special. I'm a big fan of their curries (especially the green curry), fried rice dishes (omg the Hawaiian Fried Rice), and of course their noodles (the pad kee mao / drunken noodles are a must-order). My business banker, who lived in Thailand, told me about this place and recommended some dishes. I immediately went over and ordered takeout. I ordered Tom Yum Kung, Tom Kha Gai, Thai fried rice, crab rangoons, Thai custard sticky rice, and a Thai iced coffee to enjoy while I waited. The ambiance was pleasant and the place was clean, though not overly fancy. Everyone on the staff was super nice to me and the bartender who took my order talked with me while I waited. The Thai iced coffee was fantastic and reminded me of Cuban coffee. My order was ready quickly. Everything was still hot when I got home and my husband and I tried a little of everything and literally everything was incredible. The flavors were absolutely unreal. I'm not an expert in Thai food, so I have no idea how Chiang Mai stacks up to other Thai places. What I do know is that the food was pretty spectacular. I hadn't tried Tom Yum Kung or Tom Kha Gai before and they were both flavorful and exciting (tip from my banker: don't eat everything in the Tom Yum Kung; some of the ingredients are there for seasoning.) The Thai fried rice was so good I may never go back to Chinese fried rice. Same with the crab rangoons; they were less sweet than the Chinese versions I've had, and the dough was incredibly light and crisp. The Thai custard with sticky rice was a fabulous finish to this meal, and although we finished this dish and the rangoons at lunch, we were able to keep leftovers for two more meals from the generous portions. Chiang Mai will now be one of our regular haunts because when the food is this good, you can't help but return. Highly recommend! read more

I had noodles and shrimp left to take home for a snack later but it was gone. Myself and two friends came here for an early dinner one evening. The patio was filling up so we opted to sit inside. It was a fairly warm evening and it was HOT and stuffy inside. We ordered crab rangoon and spring rolls. Both were yummy and came out nice and hot. I decided to try a noodle dish at medium hot and asked that they add tomatoes. Our food came out quickly and was well prepared and cooked perfectly. I was surprised that I only saw one or two bits of tomato and the spice level for a medium hot and very tame. Overall I was expecting a little more flavor but it was still good. When I received the bill my entree was higher than listed in the menu. When I enquirer I was advised they had price increases and was charged more for the tomato request. Overall the service was good, and the food was well prepared. I've been here a few times for lunch now, and I will keep returning. The service is good, and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. The portions are generous, enough that I can split a dish with someone or else I have leftovers (not complaining - they're always tasty the next day). The lunch specials all come with a nice soup, salad and spring roll, and they are super reasonably priced (under $10 with tip). Plus, everything I have ordered here has been yummy. The only possible drawback to this place is the parking. The private parking lot is small so if fills up quickly, leaving you to find paid parking in Broad Ripple. We were looking for a restaurant to open later than 9 on a Saturday night serving Asian food. Luckily, we found this cute place which was artistically designed and comfortable in broad ripple. I felt like we were in Thailand. I ordered the duck curry with my pineapple on the side. My friend ordered fried rice which had pineapple in it, the way it's normally made. Both were delicious! We cleared our plates. FYI...the food is on the sweet side. And it was a lot of food. She had the Argentinian wine and thought it was absolutely delicious as well. Second time coming back! I'm not sure how they get this amazing char flavor on their fried rice and Pad Thai, but it's soooo good. Spice levels were spot on. We had some issues with getting tea, at first our kettle didn't have hot water and our waitress did go get more for us, but the second time it didn't hold heat very long. read more

I have both dined in and carried out from Chiang Mai Thai Noodle, both times getting the same food because I love their ginger chicken and my boyfriend loves the pad thai. Food wise, I am more than satisfied. Portions are big enough that we both have left overs and if you like ginger, I would recommend the ginger chicken. There is a mild, medium, or hot option for both dishes (I do mild because I am a not a spicy eater, and my boyfriend does medium and every time says the next one he wants hot). Dine in or take out, food arrives hot and highly satisfied! There is an empty feel to the restaurant. Of the few times being there, there is often one other group or no people in the restaurant. There is a full bar available, but it has an empty and open feel not necessarily open to diners. When we ate in, it was quiet with the hallmark channel in the background, not my ideal environment. Love this place! The lunch special is so special that soup and salad is included as well! You can easily do lunch here for under $10 plus the tip. On this particular day it was cold and raining, so I ordered the hot sake. Absolutely a must if it is cold outside, but they have other drinks and sake as well. Our waitress was also the bartender and the hostess, but she was wearing sneakers and moved around the room quickly and efficiently. Soup and salad comes out pretty quick right about the same time as our water. The meal was followed only after we had plenty of time to appreciate our food and atmosphere in here. The walls are darker which highlights the decorations in all of there colors. I like the space, it's calming even though the music seemed to be coming from the kitchen. read more
