Wish this was closer to home but if you're finding yourself on the south side of Indianapolis make your way to Thai Charm. Very warmly greeted and service was nicely paced to get us back on the road. Ordered the papaya salad, was crisp and fresh with a marvelous dressing. Added the shrimp (4 medium size) for $2. Our other entrees was Mansaman curry that was an extremely generous serving for $16.95. Very clean restaurant and rest room with comfy booths in a strip mall space. read more

It was pretty empty when we arrived for dinner. The waitress was friendly and helpful with the menu. Our food came pretty quickly. I was not that fond of what I ordered, as it did not have much flavor. Luckily, my mom shared hers with me which was ginger flavored and much better. Pad Thai was fantastic and so were the crab Rangoons! The service was wonderful , very attentive.

Really a 4.5 star. The service is prompt and helpful. We loved the beef and broccoli flavor. The pad Thai had a lot of veggies. Only reason for the 1/2 star is that the summer roll is cut like you would sushi, which makes for a great presentation, but was difficult to eat. It was still delicious. We will stop in again. The food was amazing. I got a bowl and it was huge. Either be hungry or take it home. Also I chose medium and might I say somewhere else it would be hot or very hot. Beware! Husband got pad cashew with Thai hot and it about burnt him up. He usually can never find Thai hot enough. Learning curve - still great food. Our waitress was very helpful and very nice. It was the monthly luncheon of the 60+ Travel Ladies Club and a Southsider was the organizer. The food and service was fantastic. Can food be too authentic? My orange shrimp was deliciously flavored. There are restaurants that minimize their flavors to appeal to an American palate. Thai Charm is authentic. Even mild was a bit spicy for my palate, however the food burst with flavors. Their food is served in generous portions. The restaurant accommodated the special dietary needs of one diner. The ambiance between the wait staff and our group, there were ten of us, was excellent. The owner came and chatted with us. One of our members had recently returned from touring Thailand and a great conversation ensued. We love supporting independent restaurants. This is not my first time having food from here, but it was my first time dining in. The inside is a cute restaurant that is larger than it appears from the outside! The booths were very cozy and the waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, some of the best Thai food I've had. I should have stayed in my lane with mild+ because I got the medium and it definitely was a buildable spice, but it was still really, really good. Five stars for excellent flavors, quality ingredients, and polite service. Four stars overall though, because of a few things: First, the inside of this place was so cold, we were freezing. I know it wasn't solely us either because our server was wearing a puffer jacket while serving tables. Second, we ordered lunch specials that came with soup and the soup was barely warm when it arrived at the table. Finally, be aware of the spice levels here. We ordered our food with a mild to medium spice level and what came out was so spicy, it was almost inedible. We've not gone wrong here; each order is very tasty, great ingredients, and was on time, spiced correctly, a generous portion. We like these guys, and when we're in the SE side of Indy/Southport/Beech Grove, we go here. My only small complaint is: Prices are pretty high. This said, quality isn't cheap. read more

This has quickly became my wife and I's favorite Thai place near our house. Everytime we have been, we have been seated quickly, and quickly attended to. The servers are always super friendly, and quick to get drinks out. On our most recent trip, we ordered the vegetable summer rolls to split, and the ginger stir fry with pork for the entree. The summer rolls are delicious. The lemon chili sauce and peanut sauce are packed for of flavor, and add a nice addition to the summer rolls. The ginger stir fry has a nice flavor profile. Fair warning, the medium heat I got packed a punch, and I normally do a decent job at handling some eat. My husband and I have eaten her several times, as we live near here and it is very good. We have always been greeted promptly. The owners are usually in here working and are very nice and attentive! We always start out with an appetizer of the Summer Rolls. These are served with a peanut sauce that is just delicious. I usually get the chicken Pad Thai. I know this isn't very adventurous, but I'm usually craving it so that what I get. It is always delicious and more than enough for two meals for me. I tried the heat level as Mild+ this time. My wife and I stopped by this restaurant due to the good reviews on Yelp and I am sad to say this was the first time we have been let down by those reviews. Overall the restaurant looks clean and the service was good but the food was lacking. Unfortunately this was our one and only visit here so it could have been and off night but we left disappointed and don't plan to return. Issues: 1) Most of the dishes that come with egg at other Thai restaurants do not come with egg here. 2) Adding egg to dishes costs an extra $2 per dish. 3) Pork dish was dry and very hard to eat without using your hands. Even then the pork was dry and chewy. 4) Fried rice was not cooked correctly and was chewy and lacked flavor. 5) My wife dish also lacked flavor and what flavor was there seemed off. I really wanted some Tom Kha soup for my birthday, and it was a great excuse to try Thai Charm. We got takeout, so I can't speak to the ambiance or service. But the food? Delicious. My Tom Kha soup was just what I wanted. I got it with chicken, and the serving included was generous. It really helped make the soup a filling meal. I chose Mild heat since I wasn't sure how hot things were here. It was a little sweet, so I think I could go with Mild+ next time. This was my first time to visit Thai Charm and it was a great dining experience. The ambiance was on par for your typical Asian restaurant. The service was fantastic! We ordered Satay as an appetizer, which we found to be very good. For our main dishes I ordered Chicken Padd Kra Prow (extra spicy) and my wife ordered Chicken Pineapple fried rice. Both dishes were very delicious and I give props for getting the heat level where I like it. I would definitely recommend eating here. I certainly will next time I'm in this part of town. read more

Let me start by saying that the service was excellent. People were so gracious and felt very positive vibes from everyone working. Was excited to see menu that was not simply one of either bangkok or thaitanium rebranded into dozen+ other establishments around metro. With that being said, this is same food as thai spice in greenwood which is well established with large portions but catering more towards American Southside indianapolis sweet palates. Food would be much better with less sugar and more spice in dishes. The laab tod was fantastic, and a reason to visit within itself as this dish truly authentic and not adulterated with sweetness. The dish comes with cucumber and dry chilis to add textural and flavor nuances that made me crave being in Chicago for more authentic thai fare. For majority of folks, this will be a highly regarded place to visit for thai food. I would take my in laws, for example, who have not eaten thai food more than handful of times and like things more sweet and less spicy in general. If visiting from major metro or a transplant as myself who is looking for authentic thai cuisine as would find elsewhere, other than laab tod, this is unfortunately not the place. read more
