I was promptly greeted upon arrival. After placing my order, I was given a number and found my way to a table to wait for my order to be freshly prepared and brought to me. There was a steady flow of diners picking up orders and dining in. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken and a spring roll. The Drunken Noodles vegetables were very fresh and packed with chicken. And the spring roll was deliciously crispy, I only wish that I'd ordered more than one! As I walked in, all of the pictures of the food entrées made me want to eat all of the food. Everything looked so enticing!! First, the restaurant is very clean. After you order and pay for your food, you seat yourself and the food is delivered to you. When I received my food, my eyes were pleasantly surprised at how delicious and nice the food looked. After eating one bite, I thought the was perfectly cooked. The meal was excellent. My only complaint is they don't have an EatThai where I live (lol). I wish I could pick the restaurant up, relocate it to where I live, and try the rest of the entrées that were on the wall when I walked in. There was enough on the menu to make things interesting, and I decided to try the green curry with chicken. I was asked how spicy I wanted it on a scale of 1 to 6. I went with 4, and it was just right - definitely spicey, but not painfully so. The curry was a little watery in texture, but otherwise it was really good. The regular was the perfect size for lunch, but they also offer a large size. Our bill for two entrees and two drinks was less than $30, and these days that's pretty good value. You order at a register, just like at Five Guys. When you're food is ready they bring it out for you, so there really is no waitstaff. I had the Tom Yum soup and fried spicy basil with chicken. They have a heat scale that runs from 1 to 6. I was feeling brave and went with four. I also thought this is Indy, how hot could it be. Well any hotter would have been too hot. One of the best Thai restaurants on the north side of town. I highly recommend the chicken and shrimp pad Thai spice level medium hot. The Thai fried rice with chicken or shrimp is also very good. I have tried the drunken noodles with chicken spice level hot and it was delicious. This is a very laid back spot on the weekends. BUT I must say EatThai's brown rice is the authentic purple sticky rice which is a game changer. EatThai is my favorite Thai restaurant in Indianapolis. Let me tell you why: The food always tastes fresh and has good flavor. You place your order at the counter, then find a seat and they bring it out to you. Every time I have eaten here, it is ready in about 10 minutes. They offer a spice level of 1-6. I usually get a 2-3 then add my own chili sauce as needed, which they have available at a condiment table near the drink machine. The menu is simple with a good variety, but not so much variety that you feel overwhelmed by choices. My favorite entree is the chicken pad thai -- definitely one of the best I've ever had. Of note, you are able to order half sizes of the appetizers, which is nice if you are dining by yourself. The price is very reasonable for the amount of food. Regular entrees are $8 ($10 for shrimp) and have always left me full. They also have a rewards program for frequent customers, however this is not well advertised, so you may have to ask about it at the counter. I believe you get a free entree after 10 purchases. Overall, I would highly recommend Eat Thai. If you are unsure what to get, you can't go wrong with the chicken pad thai! read more

This review is by an Asian man who enjoys spicy food, and has tried probably 50+ different highly rated Thai restaurants all across the US (I travel frequently for work). This was my first time here. I ordered three dishes for takeout; here are my thoughts on them: #1. Large massaman curry with chicken, spice level 5 of 6. The flavor was on point. Spice level tasted closer to mild than spicy IMO. Consistency was good (not too thick and not too watery). There were more potatoes than I'd prefer and they were slightly undercooked. The major downside to this dish was its size for what they consider "large". It literally comes in a typical SMALL soup container. I expected about 25-30% more for a LARGE order. I'd hate to see what they give you for the regular size. Actually they should call their regular size small and large size as regular to better set expectations. There are many other places that'll give a lot more (ie 30%) with comparable flavor for just another dollar or two. #2. Large pad kra prow (spicy basil) with tofu, spice level 4 of 6. Flavor was very nice. Nice balance of flavors. Tofu was not dried out or over cooked like some places. A little more basil would take it to the next level for me. Spice level tasted mild to medium and def not spicy at all. Portion is about what I expected for $11. If I order again from here I'd go for level 6 spice since I enjoy spicy food. #3. Large pad Thai with vegetables. Flavor was about average to slightly above average. The sauce didn't evenly cover all of the noodles and veggies. They stuffed the container full. I would've liked more bean sprouts and less noodles to balance out the dish. I might try this dish again but ask for extra sauce and extra bean sprouts. Pretty good value for $11. Overall this spot has a solid 3 of 5 stars in my humble opinion. With a few tweaks I would move it up to 4 stars. read more
