Let me tell you, I've known them for years but chose to go across the street to the other Thai restaurant due to the fact that I grew up knowing about it. First let me say that I'm the NextDoor app, so many residents were happy to see Siamese Basil Thai Restaurant re-open after the pandemic. Everyone raves about how delicious their food is. I couldn't wait. Today, I made an online order to pick up. Ordering online is easy but it's a bit misleading, not the restaurant's fault for indicating you will get an e-mail back when the food is ready. I called the restaurant to verify. They said after 20 minutes, food should be ready. I picked up and there is still no dine in. Very friendly! For my order are eggrolls and veggie delight, Thai Hot. The dish comes with Jasmine rice or you could pay extra for fried rice. I do judge a Thai restaurant to see how spicy they will make my dish. I say this because I have yet found a restaurant to make it spicy to my liking. The wait is over!!! Siamese Basil Thai Restaurant takes the crown! I also like the fact the veggie dish also has no tofu. No offense to tofu. I do like tofu. However, I do not need it as a meat replacer for every dish. This dish was all packed with veggies. In addition, I love how a few of the veggies were cut. The dish is delicious and presentation is on point. I freaking love the spiciness and flavors. This place NEVER disappoints! The food is always delicious, from the curries to the noodles, so much flavor. I ordered takeout on V-Day and the order took a bit longer than usual (which was totally expected as it was a weekend and super busy night) - the extremely kind server/manager brought my giant order to the car and added extra spring rolls and a Thai tea. This kind of service is not easy to come by! Lastly, I have so much respect for Siamese Basil Thai for keeping their dining room closed and only having takeout. Don't let the exterior fool you! This is a great thai place located in the norcross area. The owner and his family supports the restaurant. I havent noticed any workers but that didnt delay the service at all. The food was definetly fresh and tasted good! Chicken satay, green curry and cripsy duck all were well cooked and fresh! I really enjoyed my visit here. The food was sooo good. The different fish choices we tried were all so good and tasted so fresh. The soups were yummy and flavorful. My favorite cuisines are always Asian cuisine because there's always just so much flavor packed in every bite. I believe you have to have reservations at this time to dine in, but they snuck our party of 4 in and treated us like royalty. You can find Siamese Basil Thai at 6034 S Norcross Tucker Rd, Norcross, GA 30093- this is on the eastern side of Norcross Tucker Rd as it spans between Pleasantdale Rd and Jimmy Carter Blvd. It lies on the northern end of a small shopping center - there's parking out front and to the side but know that it can be a bit limited. This is one of two Thai restaurants in the area that is quite well known, having occupied this location for many years - the other is Thai Restaurant of Norcross across the street and further south about a block, which I've heard is one of the oldest Thai restaurants in Atlanta. We usually eat at Thai Restaurant of Norcross (regulars, eating there since the late 90's) but decided to change things up a bit as it has been many, many years since we hit Siamese Basil Thai. This neighborhood is a bit sketch at night, with many pedestrians (some of them quite buzzed) wandering around and crossing the streets in dark clothing - think Buford Highway from 20 years ago in towards Northeast Plaza. There are many small shops and restaurants feeding into many nearby apartment buildings - it's that type of vibe. It's also only a few miles from my neighborhood so I've explored these areas a bit. The interior of Siamese Basil is a mix of attempted elegance and restaurant function - maybe a bit dated in today's trendy industrial restaurant modern notion. There are chest high walls crenelated to provide views to booths and tables on a checkerboard-tiled floor. Menus are multiple pages with some attempt at color photography for a few representative dishes. Prices range from $4 apps to $15 signature dishes with most in the $10-11 range for your basics. Since I had been a while we started with shrimp basil rolls with a classic peanut sauce - I thought these were good and a bit unusual to see in a Thai restaurant, being more of a Vietnamese dish. We went from there to a spicy basil chicken, a veg fried rice and a chicken pad thai. I thought all were good and slightly different compared to Thai Restaurant of Norcross - I'd certainly come here again if that option was limited. Service was very good with the guy at the front very personable as was the attending server. During our Atlanta visit, I was craving Thai food so we found this little family-owned restaurant online. We stopped by for lunch and realized the restaurant was only open for pickup. We placed an order with Matthew being very helpful in assisting our dietary restrictions. The food was very unique and did not taste too similar to Thai food everywhere else. I really liked the Massaman curry. The addition of avocado and cashews made it creamier and paired well with rice. The Emerald curry had strong notes of fresh basil, which made it very delicious. Spring rolls came with the dishes and were okay. Pad See Ew was a bit disappointing; the dish was creamy but lacked depth in flavor. Lastly, the portions are small for lunch but the prices are very low which makes this restaurant a great bang for your buck. Would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant!!! read more

Don't know how good the experience/food was except by reading reviews from others. Owners do not plainly state that it is No Dine-in. It is Take Out Only. I drove there from a distance for nothing. The gentleman was nice explaining his perspective of the wording on the website. I still feel it should be written/expressed with exact clarity. No guessing! If I'm ever in the neighborhood and want to take out I will consider them. I saw what one customer said on Yelp but the website had table and chairs, etc. indicating dining is available. Siamese Basil Thai Restaurant is my favorite place for Lamb Chops.The way they seasoned their Lollipops Lamb chops are the best. I always add a side of Shrimp Fried Rice paired with my Lamb Chops. The Restaurant is a quick to go spot make sure you call you order in twenty minutes prior to pickup. This is a family owned restaurant with good customer service. I been wanting to try this place out as it's across the street from one of my fav Thai places. I saw all the great reviews and just wanted to see for myself. When I came in, I was greeted by the super friendly employee (Matthew) who was great. He seated us at a nice booth with beautiful decor. I ordered the typical food that I normally ordered at a Thai Restaurant. During lunch, it came with complimentary coconut soup or spring roll. I picked the coconut soup because I am in love with it. Lol The flavor of it was on point and actually had some chicken and mushrooms inside it. I think next time, I will order more of it. If you have any questions on the food, Matthew definitely can answer your question about it. My date proceeded to order her typical Seafood Pad Thai. For the appetizer, we ordered the Nom Tok Beef Salad. Omg, it was one of the best flavor and spicy flavor I have ever tasted. I wanted more. Lol I ordered the Green Curry Beef of course. It was absolutely amazing. I the spicy level and flavor was just amazing. The portion was good for the price. I have seen places that charger $13-$18 for the portion I got. The pad Thai was amazing as well. The portion was huge for the price. It actually was one of the biggest portions I have ever seen for a pad Thai. I highly recommend this place if your in the area and wanting Thai. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. The dining area is actually decently big and deceiving from the outside. The food portions are very generous and you will be leaving happy and full. Matthew explained that his parents are the owners and cooks here and that's why the food has the best flavor. This is my family's favorite place to get Thai food. It is always so delicious and hot every when we get home. Everything that we have ordered there is yummy so I feel like you can't go wrong with anything you get here. Heard of this place for awhile now and finally decided to give it a try. It's located across the street from another prominent Thai restaurant (Thai Norcross), so you know this place has to be on its game with the level of competition that neighbors it. The restaurant itself feels a bit more open and spacious when compared to Thai Norcross. It was dark but there was still enough lighting to not make the atmosphere gloomy. Tables are either in booths or as single individual tables. Enough seating was there to fit a decent crowd. In terms of the menu, they have all the options you would normally find for a Thai restaurant. You have your noodles, curries and rice dishes along with soups and small snake dishes. All of which were reasonably priced and cooked just right. Lots of flavor and spice, just how I like my Thai food. Would have just given this place just 4 stars but the service of the place really stood out. Our waiter Matthew was excellent and very courteous to any of our needs. Overall it was a very enjoyable first visit and hopefully we'll have plenty more in the future. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area and are craving Thai. read more

I've eaten here 3 times. One dine in and tonight was my 2nd to go order. I ordered the Pad-See-Ew noodles with tofu. Along with spring rolls and curry rangoons. While I have no complaints about the appetizers, the entrée was inedible. It tasted so strong of fish I couldn't eat. Keep in mind here...I love fish! This tasted foul. Maybe they they fried the tofu in the same oil with fish, I'm not sure. All I know is, I never leave reviews but I had to do this because it was so bad. I tried calling just so they know something was wrong with the dish and hoping they fix it for future customers because I genuinely like this place. However I think their menu is not really special compare to their competitor down the road which is Thai restaurant of norcross which have more authentic Thai menu. BUT regardless this place is still good. We got : 1. Panang curry with pork. 2. Drunken noodle with shrimp. 3. Sautéed basil chicken. Panang curry is a type of red curry that is usually consist of peanut and shrimp paste aside from the other curry spices. Which make this curry very distinctive. Different from the other curry. And in this restaurant, I could taste that nutty flavor also the subtle taste of the shrimp paste. Combine with the sautéed basil chicken which is another staple food from Thai cuisine and the drunken noodle and some steam rice, it really hit the spot. Everything tasted just right. Not overly salty as you could find at other Thai restaurant. Service is friendly. Although I felt it was a little under staff that day. I saw only 2 servers on weekend night? Best local and family-owned Thai spot in all of Georgia! My family has eaten here for over 20 years and it's been consistently wonderful every time! It's been owned by the same family and you can really taste the authentic spices and techniques the chef uses. My favorite dishes have been their curry crab rangoon, all of their soups, curries, and nam tok salad. Matthew leads the front of the house and efficiently manages serving, takeout orders, and running food for the restaurant. He always remembers our names and makes a point to chat even though he's very busy. I love the neighborhood/family environment here and it has a nostalgic place in my heart as I began coming here as a 8-year-old with my parents and now I'm bringing my family here for dinner. The pandemic has been hard on alot of businesses so it makes me happy to see how they have pivoted to takeout and using 3P delivery services (Grubhub, Uber, etc) without compromising quality or service. read more

A nice dark orange curry that is a good blend of sweet and salty. We asked for medium spice but honestly you can go hard with the spice in this place. I get the feeling that they shine when they put more spice into their food! Green curry- a soothing curry that is funky and organic in color and yet wholesome in taste. Curries are the best to get in my opinion bc the marriage of a good curry is hard to get.Siamese does this super well- the green chicken curry we got also went well with the rice. Curry had carrots, bamboo shoots, peppers Service: I rarely have an establishment not only ask about the customer and show interest in their lives, ask for direct feedback, and take the time to thank them, so this place gets a 5/5 for service! This was my first time trying Thai food as I have a picky palette. I found this spot on Yelp and decided to try it out. They have a good bit of a crowd of people excited to get in for their dinner service. That made me feel like this was a good decision. Once in a placed my order with the nice ladies at the front. They were very friendly and eager to take my order. I am currently eating meatless so I went with the veggie coconut soup, springs rolls, steamed rice and Thai tea. I was nervous but very happy after I got home. The food was hot, fresh and well flavored. The soup was filled with yummy veggies. The spring rolls crispy and filled. The Thai tea is like a cold milk tea. I got mine without ice but add some to help break down some sweetness. I'm excited to try them again whenever I decide to go back to meat. First I'd like to say thank you Yelpers for reviewing a great little gem. My friends put me in charge of finding an awesome spot to have dinner and we had all agreed on Thai. We were a hairline close from going to another Thai spot about 1/10th of a mile further away when I made my friend pull over and change the GPS to come here instead. Soooo, glad we did. We parked and could see inside. It was about 6 or 7 on a Saturday night and the place was not busy at all maybe 3 or 4 tables of customers. The host was so welcoming and even shared with us that he was born in my hometown before moving here. He and his father seated people, took orders and joked with us. We're were feeling pretty comfortable. For an appetizer, I went with the Spring Rolls. I wasn't trying to be safe or anything, I just had a taste for spring rolls and you can tell how the rest of your meal is going to be by having the simplest dish. The Spring Rolls were just stuffed with vegetables and served with sweet chili sauce (which is always good) and were delish. Now I'm ready for my entree. After pouring over the menu, it was hard for all of us to decide on what to order. I kinda gave up and went with the Seafood Fried Rice which had stir-fried, white Jasmine rice, eggs, krabmeat (with a k), shrimp, squids, & fried scallops topped with scallions piled on a plate. OMG I loved it! I didn't need to add anything and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. My friends ordered Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai, and gushed over it throughout our entire meal. We were so happy. We all asked for boxes to take home so we could savor our meals one more day. Absolutely amazing and the prices are very reasonable. Siamese Basil was the perfect takeout option for a quiet New Year's Eve at home! Our food was hot, fresh and delicious. The restaurant manager was kind enough to comp us a few teas for our wait, even though we didn't mind at all since we know how busy holidays can be. Unfortunately we encountered another "patron," probably a Doordasher, whose experience wasn't as good as ours and left a subsequent negative, insulting, and, frankly, racist Yelp review. My FAVORITE Thai restaurant in Georgia, period. Pad Thai is one of my favorite noodle dishes and I tried it from many restaurants. None beat the one here. Their other menu items are good too. I've tried their Tom yum soup, drunken noodles, fried rice, basil chicken, garlic beef, and panang curry. All of which are great in flavor and portion. So, my love and I decided to try this place on a Friday night. We parked right in front. Was greeted by staff Matthew and told to pick our Choice of booth or a table. I chose a booth because I always do and I think they're way more intimate. So, we get seated and Matthew is near us with water and utensils in no time. I pretty much knew what I wanted from the pictures and the board when we first walked in. I noticed the duck on numerous occasions, from Yelp to their sign in the entry way so I was sold. We got a chance to look at the menu for a few minutes and ordered shortly after. Our food was out to us fairly quickly. I was extremely pleased by this, as I was superdy duper hungry. Unbelievable dining experience. Places like this are the bread and butter of Yelp. Without Yelp, there's no way we would've driven 30 minutes out of the way to find Siamese Basil in a low-key strip plaza. We walked in and no one, I repeat no one, was dining in. Let's just say my group of friends said something along the lines of, "Matt, why the hell did you take us here?" (BOY WERE THEY WRONG) Our server knew the menu better than the ABC's. Probably the most knowledgeable and attentive waiter I've ever had. He described to us their three signatures items. He did this by comparing each item to a famous basketball player. 1) Massaman Curry (Michael Jordan) - the dish they are know for. 2) Three Flavor Chicken (Kobe Bryant) - always a win. 3) Amazing Flavor (LeBron James) - clutch. I went with numero uno, the Michael Jordan. Holy Massaman Curry, the flavor was on a level of unattainable enlightenment. Hands down, the best yellow curry I've ever had. It contained a perfect spice, but prepared with tender avocados which mellowed the curry. Normally, I'm not nuts for peanuts (pun intended), but the salty bite added crunch and rounded out the curry. Paired with perfectly-steamed white rice, I was in my own little world. All for $10.95! Are you kidding me? Easily would've paid double the price for this meal. I'm telling you, it was expertly crafted and prepared with an extreme attention to detail. By the end of our meal, the restaurant was packed. Apparently Siamese Basil originated in Florida, the Jacksonville area in 1995, so our server asked us about our Florida expertise. When I'm back in Atlanta in a month, I think I'll sneak off to Siamese Basil for another impeccable meal. This is a must-go-to restaurant.
