Hakkasan is quite a special restaurant. If you're looking for a very high end dim sum experience, this is the place. The ambiance is moody and sexy. The service is top notch with extreme attention to detail. We were celebrating my friend's birthday so we went all out and did the Taste of Hakkasan Prix Fixe menu for $175. It was so much food but everything was phenomenal. I especially enjoyed the duck, all of the dumplings, the sea bass and beef tenderloin. But the flavors were great in every dish. Between the two of us, we had a ton of leftovers which wasn't ideal as we were staying in a hotel. We asked for a mini fridge and munched on the very expensive leftovers it in between activities. Hakkasan, located inside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, ended up being one of our favorite meals of the trip. The menu is massive, which can make ordering a little intimidating. While waiting to be seated, we noticed a Chef's Menu for Two displayed at the reception desk that wasn't listed on the online menu. Once seated, our server began walking us through the menu, and we asked about it. She explained that it included many of Hakkasan's most popular dishes, so we decided to let the kitchen guide the experience rather than spend half the evening debating what to order. It turned out to be a great decision. The Chef's Menu gave us a little bit of everything, including dim sum, shrimp, fish, steak, short rib, duck, and dessert. It felt like a great introduction to the restaurant and allowed us to sample a wide variety of dishes without having to overthink our selections. Hakkasan also offers larger tasting menus for groups of four or more at different price points. One thing that stood out immediately was the quality of the food. A lot of Asian restaurants rely heavily on frozen products or pre-made components, but the dishes here tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The flavors were vibrant, the ingredients tasted high quality, and nothing felt overly greasy or heavy. The Peking duck was one of the highlights of the meal. The skin was perfectly crisp, the meat was tender, and everything was beautifully prepared without having to pick around bones. The Florida shrimp were large, fresh, and expertly cooked. Even the fried dishes felt light and well-executed rather than oily. The dim sum was another standout. It tasted freshly made and had a texture and flavor that set it apart from the typical frozen versions served at many restaurants. We were also impressed by the sauces and accompaniments throughout the meal. The hoisin sauce tasted house-made rather than bottled, and many dishes incorporated fresh fruit, spice, and other thoughtful elements that elevated the overall experience. The beverage program is equally impressive. We ordered a large bottle of sake, but the restaurant also offers an extensive selection of wine, spirits, cocktails, and sake. If you enjoy exploring drink menus, you'll have plenty of options here. The restaurant itself has a dark, modern atmosphere that blends upscale Asian dining with South Beach energy. It's stylish and highly designed without feeling stuffy or pretentious. Service was excellent throughout the evening. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the menu. Every interaction felt polished, and the meal moved at a comfortable pace. One thing I especially appreciated was that, unlike many tasting menu experiences, we actually left full. There was plenty of food, a great variety of dishes, and nothing felt repetitive. That's not always the case when dining at higher-end restaurants. Overall, Hakkasan delivered on food, service, atmosphere, and value. The Chef's Menu for Two was an excellent way to experience the restaurant, and we'd gladly return the next time we're in Miami. By far the worst dining experience we've had at Hakkasan, especially on Mother's Day. I was excited they brought back brunch on sat and sun so I chose to celebrate Mother's Day here. The service was incredibly slow, and our waiter Juan Pablo was unfriendly and completely inattentive throughout the meal. He made Mother's Day brunch at Hakkasan a bad experience. The restaurant wasn't even half full, yet it took forever just to place our order, have dishes cleared, and get drink refills. On top of the poor service, the brunch menu has become extremely limited. They no longer offer the dim sum platters as pictured in the advertisement and many of our favorite dishes including the venison and pumpkin puffs are no longer on the menu. We loved bringing our parents here for dim sum and to celebrate special occasions, but after today, this will definitely be our last visit. What should have been a special Mother's Day celebration ended up being a huge disappointment. read more

First time at this beautiful, high end, classy restaurant this past weekend. The decor is very beautiful. The front staff was friendly and prompt to seat us. We celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Hakkasan at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, which happened to fall the day before Valentine's Day and on Friday the 13th. If you are superstitious, no need, it was all almost perfect! If you've never been to the Fontainebleau, it's an iconic, historic property with a glamorous past and a special place in entertainment history. Frank Sinatra was a regular there, and you can absolutely feel that old-school elegance the moment you arrive. The hotel is massive, the lobby is stunning, and valet can take a bit so plan to arrive at least 20 minutes early to comfortably get to the restaurant. Once we arrived at Hakkasan, we were seated quickly. The ambiance is beautiful and dramatic but refined, and immersive. The music was a bit louder than my personal preference but it didn't take away from the atmosphere, scenery, or service. Speaking of service, it was impeccable from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, they acknowledged our reservation and the reason for our visit(pre-valentines and anniversary). That attention to detail carried through the entire evening. Shortly after being seated, we were presented with a handwritten anniversary card from the restaurant. It was such a thoughtful touch and really set the tone for the rest of the night. Such an pleasant surprise. We chose the tasting experience. For parties of four or more, there's a larger family-style option, but for two guests the experience is a curated selection rather than an omakase-like four menu access option. It still comes at a flat per person rate. Even so, the chefs selection was outstanding and honestly, it was hard to choose a favorite dish they were all so good. Our meal began with a salad featuring cubed short rib that was unexpectedly and inexplicably delicious. It was paired with microgreens, beet shoots, and a very light dressing that was simple, elegant, and perfectly balanced. Next came the dim sum. One was shrimp topped with caviar, and the other a vegetarian truffle mixture that wasn't the most visually appealing but the flavor was extraordinary. We also had large, deep-fried shrimp topped with caviar, which were very good, though the dim sum truly stole the show. That truffle dim sum is likely one of my all time favorite dim sum items - YES THAT GOOD! The Peking duck arrived next, served with paper-thin flour wraps so delicate you could almost see through them. These weren't traditional rice wraps, and they were phenomenal. The duck was crispy and tender, accompanied by cucumber, onion, and sauce on the side. Assembling each bite was half the fun and every bite was delicious. We then moved on to the XO fried rice with shrimp and meat. The shrimp sat atop the rice in a brown onion sauce that was delicate and flavorful. However, the standout of this course was the sous-vide stir-fried pepper steak that was exceptional in every way. It was served in a crispy yellow "wisp" bowl that added a fantastic texture and visually perfect. Despite how incredible everything had been, the absolute star of the night was the stir-fried seabass with mushrooms. I can't overstate how amazing this dish was. The fish was light, flaky, and perfectly cooked; the sauce was balanced and refined; and the mushrooms added a beautiful earthy contrast. Truly unforgettable. Just when we thought the evening had come to an end, dessert arrived with another surprise anniversary message. Just another example of how attentive and thoughtful the staff was throughout our visit. And yes, the cocktails were excellent too, though I honestly can't remember exactly what I had, only that they were very, very good. If you're on a tight budget, this may not be the place for you. But if you're looking for something truly special and an experience, not just a meal, I highly recommend Hakkasan. Without question, we will be back. read more

I hit up Hakkasan every time I stay at Fontainebleau (which is every time I go to Miami Beach, so essentially every year). It's one of my favorite spots and I love the cuisine. Every bite is always delicious. I'd usually give 5 stars, but this time our waiter (Maurice?) was really off-putting. Food as mouthwatering as always, but a terrible server. Since Hakkasan closed in midtown (NY) I've been going to Hakkasan in the Fontainbleau and in some ways it's superior. The restaurant has that same dark feel and perhaps tables are a little too close and the tightness - depending on where seated - is my only complaint. The main courses are good but I've had better Chinese food and because the menu is limited I stick to the reliable Claypot Chicken or the Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin. I go more for the Dim Sum than the main dishes and this is Hakkasan's strongpoint. The dumplings are nicely presented and more importantly taste as good as they look and we ordered an assortment and as usual we were not disappointed as the shrimp and vegetable versions were outstanding. On this week's visit the dumplings were as good or even better than in the past and going to a restaurant that is consistent is hard to find but Hakkasan doesn't fail. Desserts are as visually appealing as the Dim Sum and were very good. Service was also good as were drinks. read more

I have to be honest: I was a bit skeptical with all these reviews on Yelp, but it really was super delicious. - Crispy Almond Prawn - yes, simple, but delectable. - Grilled Honey Chilean Sea Bass. Super delicious. It's a nice portion size, and reminiscent of the famous Nobu Miso Cod. - XO Fried Rice with Shrimp and Beef - yes, please! Music that can be described as chill nightclub was a bit overbearing unless you want that nightclub beat droning on all night long...we did not. We came for Miami Spice, $60 with two upgrades ended up being $200...was it worth it? No it wasn't. Be prepared to walk all the way around to the rear of the hotel for elevators to take you to the 4th floor. I honestly thought it was a more upscale hotel but you wouldn't think so seeing the clientele as you walk among bathing suit claded large bodies headed to the pool area. We were among the first patrons at 6 pm, and they sat another couple immediately to our left separated by an open partition wall and we hear everything, and vice versa. It did get more busy midway through but definitely made us wonder about their seating choice. Dumplings: disappointing and rather bland w/o the spicy sauce which had great flavor. Almond Prawn: fried perfectly but served w boring spicy mayo...extremely uncreative. Peking Duck: served with 10 pancakes but only enough duck for 6 realistically. Skin was not as golden brown and crispy as we'd expected, however the texture and flavor were good. Beef with black bean: served over an odd partially crispy yet partially soggy rice noodle pancake, it was just meh. Lotus asparagus stir fry: pretty boring, underseasoned and undercooked...I like my veggies crisp but not half raw. Fried rice w/ XO sauce. While i don't eat spicy I could taste and see the red chili oil residue on my plate and could taste that it had the slightly kick...it was ok but i would have preferred it without the chili oil. I love the shredded lettuce, my favorite is from Hong Kong a beef and shredded lettuce fried rice. Mango Custard: a perfect blend of texture and flavors...loved the bitterness of the grapefruit with the creaminess of the coconut ice cream, the highlight of the meal! We were sat and then introduced to our server, I got weird vibes from her and just felt like she was judgmental and rude. Ordered the dim sum platter and it was ok. Gorgeous restaurant inside the Fountainbleau, while gorgeous though the food is OK, we ordered a bunch of stuff for the table and I think the only thing I genuinely liked was the dumplings, other than that it was pretty average - for the price you'd expect a whole lot better. Our waitress was also extremely rude to everyone at our table. She had a dry attitude and when we asked her for a recommendation she told us to look at the first page on the menu instead of providing us with some of her favorites or customer favorites. She kind of ruined the experience for us! I've been to the Hakkasan in London and in Dubai. This one did not compare in terms of food. We got the snapper, duck rolls, mallah chicken, bok Choy and fried rice. None were great. None were good. The duck roll meat was dry. The mallah chicken had zero flavor and was dry. The fried rice was average. The snapper was breaded and tasted like sweet and sour sauce. The only thing I really enjoyed was the side of bok Choy. Honestly, I would have been more pleased from a takeout Chinese restaurant! Service: service was good. Our server was good but spoke waaaaaay too fast. Luckily I'm from NYC so I could understand the fast talk. Atmosphere/vibe: great vibe! Fun dinner on a Saturday night. The vibe of the restaurant is loungey- making it the perfect spot for a date night, special celebration, or girl's night which is why we went. Our table of 5 split: +Dim Sum Platter: regular and veggie +Almond Prawn +Crispy Duck Salad +Stir Fry Beef +Cod +Black Bean Tofu +Szechuan Chicken +Hakka Noodles Everything was fabulous. I loved the dim sum, the duck salad, and the beef the best but truthfully I would order everything again. If you order a la carte, you have so many options to share with your group. You can also order from one of their signature menus, and do a more tasting menu style experience of their most popular dishes. They offer Miami Spice dinner pricing, but not on the weekends. It is also available for Spice Brunch. We did not do spice, and while not an inexpensive dinner, it was most definitely worth the spend for the quality, service, and ambiance. Came here for dinner on a weeknight. And yes, please make reservations even though while we were there, it wasn't fully booked or did not appear to be fully booked. This is our first time here, and the food definitely did not disappoint. Please do not expect traditional Cantonese or Chinese food as Hakkasan is from the UK. But we definitely wanted to try the award-winning cuisine. The place is very dark and the ambience is very cozy, intimate and private. Very modern Chinese aesthetic as well. Loved all the options as well as the prefix options. Service started out, super strong, very accommodating, and very considerate. This restaurant even has a selection of reading glasses available for those who have forgotten or may need them. In our case, one of our guests forgot them. When I say, service started out strong, it did wane a little bit as the food arrived. For example for the price of Peking duck, I expect someone to be their table side creating the wraps. Even at significantly cheaper traditional Chinese restaurants someone is there making the wraps. The tables are very small, even though we are a party of three in ordered quite a bit of food so it did make maneuvering around the table, your plate and your drinks, a bit challenging because you did not want to knock anything off the table. Or another contingent plan would be too better time out the dishes coming to the table so that the table does not become overcrowded. I expect this type of thought and strategic planning, considering that someone thought about reading classes. We stopped by on Sunday for brunch and we tried their Miami Spice Menu, the food and service is horrible. Our server was rude and our food took forever! The restaurant was not packed but our food took about 25 minutes to arrive. I ordered a wonton noodle soup and the soup was cold and they didn't serve enough soup with it. I came to this place with low expectations due to mixed reviews and left extremely happy with my dinner experience. First off, this is located in the Fontainebleau hotel which is where we stayed. This is a great place to celebrate an occasion, have date night, or pre-game to go out on the town. The service was fantastic from the moment we walked in. The menu was explained well and recommendations were excellent. We went with the a la carte menu options vs the various prix fixe options. Now for the food!! I recommend every single dish we had!! The short ribs melted before they even got in our mouths...so tender and flavorful. Spicy crispy mala chicken, stir-fried beef with shishitos, French beans...all so good. And then the f-ing Peking duck??? It was the best I have had. Thank God I had time for dessert because the mango custard gave my mouth an orgasm!!! I can't believe I'm saying that on Yelp but it was incredible. Eat all these things. You will be so happy you did! This place has Michelin vibes for sure although it looks like they lost their star. I was a little bummed I couldn't take advantage of the happy hour mini dim sum special, since I was seated at a table, but the food and drink I ordered was very good. The prices were what I would expect for the location but $21 for a cocktail will never not be outrageous. The duck noodles were very good. My server was very nice, and the place itself is beautiful.
