Short review: Great food! Great service! Awesome beer! Fried chicken sandwhich was to die for. The pork belly BLT was yummy! Between the two I would go for the fried chicken sandwhich but both were on point. The French fries were also incredible! Trip from AZ to WA brought us to an overnight stay in this quaint town. My mom and I chose Side A Brewing by the reviews and website menu with pictures. The House burger was super delicious, bacon was perfectly cook. Fresh cut string fries were tasty. I got a flight with IPAs and landed with Oregon Hazy IPA as my favorite. Highly recommend a stop in to sip and eat out in the beer garden. read more

A jolly good stop in LaGrande. Solidly decent beer, small selection, but well crafted. Small but interesting menu, lots of yummy options. We had a couple of salads (post Thanksgiving) and they were surprisingly good: lovely mixed greens, house pickled onion, fresh carrot, and a good tomato. The soup was homemade, and delicious. Stopped in for dinner and a brew on a Wednesday night. I was seated promptly and given the option to sit outside, which I took. Restaurant is clean and the outside seating was nice even if it may have been a parking lot that faces an alley. I was a little disappointed they didn't have a TV, but I know some breweries don't like the sports bar vibe. Service was excellent throughout, hostess was friendly, server was attentive, and food/drinks came quickly. I had the basic burger with tomato jam, caramelized onions, and bacon. I'm on a no carb kick so I requested no bun, which wasn't an issue. I subbed a side salad with ranch for the fries. Burger was tasty, but a little pink in the middle. Good thing that's how I like 'em! Probably too pink for most people. For beer, I had the 10oz Two Pan IPA. I really enjoyed the beer, crisp, clean, and wasn't too hoppy. Wish I wasn't driving, I would have had some more! Total bill was $20, which I thought was really reasonable. Definitely worth a visit! read more

We have been here a couple of times. I truly enjoy the flat iron steak, the chimichurri sauce is the best!! My husband had the Rueben that was on special which was also great! I would like to see some expansion on the menu and drink options (I know their focus is beer but I don't drink beer and come solely for the food). Little noisy but nice decor! *Updating so I can let the owner know I was not talking about the selection of alcoholic beverages... I've been twice now... It's a brewery with a pub style menu. I don't frequently drink beer, and haven't tried theirs yet anyway, so I won't talk about that, but I've eaten several food items. The dirty fries are delicious, salty, spicy, and cheesy... They have a fun "Korean" BBQ pork taco appetizer which I enjoyed immensely, though I question the "Korean" aspect of it! I've also had the pork belly BLT, and the bratwurst/sausage plate, both of which were delicious! My only beef? Like many places, quite a few of their menu items seem to be following the ongoing trend of "spice it up!!!" That is sweeping the states these days, and I just can't handle that personally... Met a friend for a lovely dinner outside on the terrace out back. The food was delicious - the veggie burger was a winner, and the beet-adorned salad was a total delight. I'm giving these people one star for ambiance and for our server, Hailey, who worked hard to make our experience better. But man, you have to give your staff something to work with. So the house beer is swill. Our food for a two-top took over an hour, and was cold when it showed up. Cool atmosphere in downtown La Grande. Converted old Firehouse with bays that open on nice weather days, and a patio in the back! Local brews and good food along with friendly staff. Prices are a bit steep, but it was worth it. We always stop in for a bite if we're headed to the post office around lunchtime. read more

I had the soup of the day, buffalo cauliflower and dunkelbocl. The beer was great but the food blew me away. The soup was roasted red pepper and tomato bisque. Great flavor, thick hearty texture with perfectly toasted bread. First time trying buffalo cauliflower and I couldn't believe how good it was. We were greeted, seated, and ice cold beers were placed on our table. I ordered the side salad, delicious and hubby ordered the soup/stew. Very good but could have been hotter. We ordered a burger and fries to share. She asked if medium was ok and we said yes. When it arrived it was medium rare to rare. The waitress was very accommodating and took the burger and they made us another one, it was medium. We ate our fries while waiting for our burger. Everything was delicious. Good food and service. We had our kids with us and the staff was accommodating to their needs (crayons and cups to play with). They have a good selection of beer and a small but decent wine selection. We were just passing through and would recommend if you're doing the same.
