A HORRIBLE & TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I found Sidebar on Yelp & we decided to go for drinks and appetizers on A Wednesday night-8/7/19. That Wednesday night at 9 PM was not busy at all. We sat about 15 feet away and directly in front of the bar. We ordered drinks (a beer & a cocktail) and appetizers. My beer came almost 20 minutes after ordering it, the bartender was doing nothing but hanging out and chatting with the 3 people at the bar until he finally poured my beer. We found the waitress to be extemely disrespectful and unprofessional by bringing my drink before my wife's. My wife's cocktail finally came 12 minutes after mine and after we'd asked about it with obvious frustration. At that point our experience at the Sidebar was beyond ruined. The waitress, after finally bringing the cocktail after a half hour said the bartender had forgotten. At this point we blame the waitress for not bringing both drinks at the same time and communicating with the bartender. Something she could have done after 10 minutes of waiting. Just to add to this experience the cocktail was TOTALLY WATERED DOWN, tasted like regular water in ice with food coloring for looks. ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR OF ALCOHOL OR THE FRUITY MIX. Last night my girlfriend and I went out to side bar. The line was very long. I walked up to the manager and asked if industry lines were still being honored. He politely asked me who I was with, as well as my profession. I told him I was a chef and owned multiple restaurants in this town. I told him it was just me and my girlfriend. He was wearing a mask but I saw his smile through his eyes as he kindly said why don't you grab your friend and walk right up. I was so impressed by how polite this young man was. My friend jeniffer and I hadn't been out dancing since Covid.. And let me tell you, it was hands-down one of the best nights we've had in a very long time. Normally night clubs tend to be obnoxious, snobby, and frankly uncomfortable. However my experience at side bar last night was absolutely amazing. Ree Capili is the manager and probably one of the nicest gentleman I've ever met in night club management. The whole staff was upbeat, polite, kind, and most importantly welcoming. Ree Capili and his staff made our night absolutely perfect. It's been a long time that I've stumbled home past 2 AM lol and I'm not even mad at it. A Big shout out to the DJ who was playing the cuts last night. I wish I could've gotten his name because I would've rept him on this review. So coming to this place was a beautiful accident! Honestly we came before anyone was there I needed to use the bathroom and decided to order a couple of shots. First of all it is absolutely gorgeous in this place! From the tufted couches to the hanging floral arrangements on the ceiling. The vibe is just killing it. Such a sexy little place. We met Thomas who treated us so good! We got to see the back area and where it opens up to a club. I will definitely be back for that! We had the most delicious appetizer that was brought out by the chef himself. It was buffalo cauliflower and it was to die for! The bartender Jacob was such good people!! The worst attitude in America ! After staying in line and withdrawing cash for a fee to get in, they only accept cash , they didn't let me in because I was wearing glasses. My glasses are slightly tinted but they are prescription and I need them to see, you can see my eyes thru glasses, so they are not that dark, but this pretentious place didn't wanna let me in with them, and I mean, I have never seen such pretentious attitude and I've been all over clubs in US! Hilariously , genius security guard asked me for papers to prove they are prescription. I took my glasses off and asked him to see for himself, at which point he said he still needs to see papers. Really? Now we need to go out to a club, pay $20 to get in, get padded down from head to toe, and also carry our prescriptions with us? Disgusting place I would never step my foot in! We ended up going to a club down the street and nobody gave rats a about my glasses! So do yourself a favor and go have fun at a decent place, where you'll be respected and not discriminated, what they did is so illegal! Being blind is basically a disability and they wanted to take away the tool that helps me deal with this disability. Shame on you and I hope you'll be sued one day!
