Wow, what an awesome couple of burgers we just had! I had a gorgonzola bacon special and my accomplice had a regular cheeseburger. Big, cooked perfectly, and great flavors. Even the lettuce/tomato/pickle/onion condiments were all very nice, fresh, and tasty. The only complaint is that the burgers were quite large and so yummy that we both ate them all, feeling quite full the rest of the day. So....a good complaint, really. Can't ding the restaurant for my lack of self control! Friendly service, too, and a dessert menu that was hard to pass by but given how much burger was in my belly we had to look away. read more

We had the Halibut Caesar salad, fried oysters and salmon cakes. At the end for the meal I found a feather in my salad. Our waitress politely comped the dish. Other than that it was a great experience. I would definitely return on our next vacation. read more

Loooove the atmosphere and service! Beer prices are pretty good but neither my fiance and I were blown away by the food. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was definitely more pricey than delicious! Ordered their chocolate torte. It was very good. My disappointment was that it was pricey, $9.00, and it was TINY. I should have taken a picture of it, but to give you an idea, I finished it in about five average sized bites. I feel like I was ripped off. All they had to do was slice an average size, and I would have ordered it again. Now I won't. I dine out quite frequently, and in my area the restaurants serve generous portions. Well worth the drive! Very diversified menu that catered to almost everyone's taste. It is off the beaten path, just west of Hwy 101 so non-locals don't know it's location. Had lunch there at the recommendation of several people. The meal was fabulous, from appetizer, to soup, to entree, to dessert...everything was uniquely delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Just got back from fabulous Valentines dinner at the Side DoorBrooke & her staff are wonderful - amazing food and service, even on a super busy night. Started with a fabulous butternut squash soup (creamy & just the right amount of spices). Then our main course, Seafood Melody, with halibut, prawns, and scallops served on a bed of toasted coconut infused rice with veggies, served with a creamy Thai sauce to die for. Our desserts were also yummy; chocolate Grenache over ice cream and a rhubarb, cherry crisp also served w/ice cream. Amazing food and everyone around us looked equally pleased with their food. Wow! We found this place quite by accident and we are so happy we did. My wife had the chorizo quiche with a side salad. The honey mustard vinaigrette dressing was to die for. The quiche was light and fluffy and simply amazing. I had a cheeseburger that was also vey good. The portions are large and the wine was a very generous pour. Our server, Bill, was attentive and vey friendly. We will definitely come back here. read more

Visit today for an early dinner. Got to the restaurant when it opened at 3:00pm. Was one of the first groups to be seated. We didn't leave the restaurant until 5:00pm. We waited over an hour in a half to receive our food. The waitress finally came to our table after we had already waited over an hour to tell us our order never made it to the kitchen due to a computer glitch. It's funny that everyone around us had gotten their food and left and we were still waiting for ours. If it was a computer glitch I still don't know why it took over an hour for her to check to see why our food wasn't ready!!! The only thing she offered us for our inconvenience was a cup of soup!!! We didn't want soup we just wanted our meal and I feel the least the restaurant could do was comp us a drink or dessert for their mistake. Overall the food was good, but will never go back due to the poor service we received. read more

Oh my word. Best meal at the coast in 20 years. They seemed super busy but accommodated us at the counter so we had full view of the loveliness coming out of the kitchen. We were brought here by family who had been raving about the food here. Honestly I was skeptical but went along as it was my father in law's birthday. I was extremely impressed. My husband and I had marionberry martinis, the salmon special, the ribeye, and the wilted spinach salad. All were impressive, even the twice baked potatoes were good! The mashed potatoes needed no gravy. The marionberry cobbler was the icing on the cake! The prices for what you got were reasonable as well. I will definitely be back. read more

We had an outstanding dinner here. It is tucked away and please make a reservation. It seems people in Oregon like to eat early in the evening so when we arrived at 7:45, it was very busy. We were seated promptly by a very young server immediately delivering bread. All good but I prefer to be asked if I'd like a drink first. It was very busy so by the time our assigned staff person came over, he started to rattle off the specials, I still prefer to be offered a beverage....this is the only reason for 4 and not 5 Stars. Dinner was awesome! A special coconut curry squash soup was probably the best soup I've ever had. They must use coconut cream. I had the crab cakes (3!) which were delicious and might be something a group could share as an app if there is something else you need to try. Husband had a halibut special which had the tastiest ravioli (mushroom?) and all portions are generous and served hot. Kudos to the chef! We visit this area annually so we will certainly return and highly recommend. read more

We joined my husbands brother and wife for dinner here last night. When we arrived we were warmly greeted my Mark who knows them well as regulars. We all enjoyed the evening of great food and impeccable service. What did we have? Between all of us the table had: crab cocktail rich and delicious and plentiful, Cesar salad which has a light dressing-yum, mushroom ravioli in a red sauce that the guys raves about, halibut cooked to perfection and capellini pasta with tomato-basil-garlic-Parmesan and bay shrimp. Everything was filling and delicious. Topped it off with a couple pieces of German chocolate cake to take home for later. Highly recommended! I am really confused as to why there are so many wonderful reviews about this place. We drove 30 minutes out of our way to try it out based off of an overheard remark. I want to say that the reviews are so high because it is the only place to eat for miles. The location is lovely, and there is a wonderfully large area to have events (one was occurring while we ate). The gentleman who sat us was charismatic and friendly, i imagine if he had been our server, our experience would have been a little better. However I think our server was new and uncomfortable in his role. We both started with a Cesar salad as we are want to do. I don't know what it was they gave us, with parsley on the edges and a clear Italian like dressing.. but Cesar it was not. I ordered the ribeye that looked more like a New York and tasted like a pre frozen Denney's or diner type piece of meat (points for cooking it to the correct temp though). The potatoes tasted like they came from a box and had been cooked in Dungeness crab water. My husband ate the pork medallions that were so overdone, he was happy to have the jelly which the waiter had so adamantly told me was coming with my steak that was the special... so I was a wee bit confused. We had been staying in Newport and had been eating at Clearwater there on the waterfront and had been out of this world pleased. Needless to say we were disappointed we made the drive for what we were given. All in all, it's possible we ordered the wrong things, after all they did have my favorite wine on their list.
