Brought the car in at 9:30am, he did not tell me when it would be ready. Called at 4:30pm with the car. I pulled in and he showed me my transmission fluid and told me my transmission was failing in 1st and 2nd gear and it would be $3,000 to replace it. Told me that he didn't think it would drive home. I didn't have the money immediately (SO glad I didn't), so I paid to have the transmission refilled and went home to panic. Made an appt with a transmission shop in Portland, whom flipped and ran all diagnostics on the transmission and couldn't find anything wrong with the transmission and said it was running great for how high of mileage it is. He is absolutely the worst manager and should not be in business. When he is angry with a customer he slams doors and acts in threatening ways with a gun in his rafters and a hole in his front window. It's just time for Cory to sell his shop and move on. He needs to realize that the labor per hour difference between Cory's car care and Lexus is only 19 per hour. While at Lexus I get a loaner vehicle that's a new Lexus! They have a clean customer service lounge with free beverages and doughnuts, Lexus of Portland is amazing! Why is Cory's car care trying to compete? I originally started going to Cory's in the fall of 2020 for minor things like transmission oil and filter changes. Struts on my Toyota Avalon; Little stuff; Cory much like biff in back to the future would often get things wrong and you have to kind of stand there with him so he will stay focused on the issue until he realizes what the real problem is. It never was a professional experience. But I thought it was a way to help a family business stay in business. However, he isn't even owning up to his failed installation of parts at this point. He's trying to fraud people on their work warranty and refusing to complete the repairs. He can't legally do this. Personally, Cory is off his rocker! Called for a quote & got an exact estimate (which did not change after service was completed) from Lonny & he even sent me a discount code to use so I could save some money. Eclipse wanted to charge nearly double without any real reasoning & wasn't offering a discount. After comparing, I took my car into Super Street & was treated like my business & time mattered. They talked me through the process as it was happening & made sure I had everything I needed before sending me on my way. Fast, friendly & reliable service everytime I've been in since. The employees are just as friendly as their dogs & I couldn't be happier with the shop I chose! Also found out Eclipse was FIRED from 2 IID companies because they were double charging clients & pocketing what was supposed to be paid to the IID companies (which is a felony). He arrived without an appointment and requested immediate removal of his IID device. We explained that IID removals must be scheduled through the device manufacturer, not directly with our shop. This is a state-regulated process, and bypassing it can result in significant setbacks, including restarting the entire interlock period. Unfortunately, when we tried to explain this, the customer became agitated and confrontational. Our staff attempted to de-escalate the situation and provide guidance on the correct steps, but the interaction broke down. We never want a customer to feel unheard or frustrated. At the same time, we are required to follow all legal and procedural guidelines to protect both our customers and our business. We're always happy to help clarify the process when approached calmly and respectfully, and we wish this individual better experiences moving forward.
