Food was good to adequate. I had the eggs Benedict and the eggs were done perfectly. The Canadian bacon was a little bit thick so it was a little hard to manage but I managed, lol. My hashbrowns were properly cooked but not very tasty. They tasted a little old. My husband really liked his Sid's omelette. Since he eats Keto, he let me have his toast and he had sour cream on his omelette. He was very happy with his meal. Service was delightful. The restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms. The staff was attentive and pleasant. I noticed a lot of the other patrons know each other from around town. We stopped on our way to California. My husband and I tried the Chicken Asparagus Pasta and the California Griller. The pasta had an ample amount of the veggies in a rich sauce the wasn't overly seasoned. We really enjoyed the Parmesan sourdough on the sandwich and felt like there was a good amount of condiments. The interior is roomy with ample seating. Service was always very friendly, albeit a little on the slow side. A few of our orders were filled incorrectly or extra requests for sauces forgotten. Visiting the hubby while he is working in Winnemucca, we decided to grab some breakfast. I got the biscuit and gravy, came with hash browns, I subbed with country potatoes, and added bacon. So yummy, their salsa was some of the best I have had. Staff was nice, service was good, I would have left 5 stars, but my drink never got refilled. Prices are middle of the road for the times we live in. Right on Winnemucca's blvd, can't miss it. I like that I don't have to walk through a casino to eat here. Great little hometown diner. My personal favorites??? The meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes is awesome, and the brown gravy is absolutely delicious. I like their breakfasts and their soups. Rolled into Winnemucca at 5:30 and were pleasantly surprised to find this place open. It's a nice, simple and spotlessly clean old school coffee shop. Service was very prompt and friendly (especially considering the early hour). We ordered a country skillet and a hotcakes combo with eggs and sausage patties. Looking for a spot to eat dinner after the wrestling tournament. Sid's came with high reviews: note they close at 8pm! We ordered the stuffed biscuits and chicken tenders salad with the house ranch dressing. Both plates were fresh and delicious. We got a strawberry milkshake and it tasted like a perfect old fashioned shake. I stopped in around 2 p.m. on my return trip from Elko back to Reno. I ordered a chili burger and it came out medium rare, just as I requested. My tater tots were nice and crispy on the outside and still a bit moist on the inside-perfect! And hot! Also, there was a full bottle of ketchup on the table. That is very important to me; I hate watching my fries get cold as I wait for ketchup to arrive. My server was quick, friendly and efficient. We were not planning on doing a sitting down restaurant as we were passing through town. However, we stopped for gas and my husband asked the attendant where he recommended and this was the place. I agreed to spend the extra time stopping for a late breakfast if it was good, after all, we were on vacation. We got seated right away. It was packed. Our server was quick. We weren't ready to order so she came back about 10 minutes later. We were splitting our meals as we didn't want left overs. Our food came quick. The huevos rancheros were not what we were use to. It was deep fried with beans inside. A bit too greasy for me and my husband. The veggie omelet was good. Not as big as some we've ordered so probably 1 less egg. Our server forgot the toast and we got it about 15 minutes after we reminded her. She did apologized. Not sure if with tip $30 was worth stopping vs just going through a drive through. In fact everything was steaming. The food its self was fantastic! It looked just like you think a diner or cafe should look and very clean! It's over rated. Charging steak house prices but with out the sides and definitely not getting the quality steak either. I ordered the 10oz rib eye. I got a 1/4" thick piece of meat, the fat wasn't even rendered because it was cooked so fast. For 3 plates and 2 ice teas, it was $83 and some change. I could have gone to a steak house for a little less than that and had a way better plate. It's nothing special food. It is a clean restaurant and the staff is friendly. I always plan a stop at Sid's Restaurant when driving from California to Salt Lake City. It's very convenient and the food is just excellent. Service is invariably prompt and friendly. It was hot coming down US 95 into Winnemucca, Nevada, the Mom and I were feeling hungry and so was the Yelpmobile. We fueled up the car first and decided the last thing we wanted was another chain restaurant. I kick-started the Yelp app on the cell and started looking. Sid's looked interesting and I saw the sign in the distance to the west. The Mom is 86 years young, and she is discriminating about her food and restaurant. I am a Yelp Elite, so I too am discriminating. The restaurant is on the south side of the main road through town. Plenty of parking and convenient handicapped parking. We walked into the building and there was a blackboard with specials written on it. There it was, literally in black and white, STUFFED BISCUITS AND GRAVY. Stuffed with what? Heck, I didn't care, I was all in, even though it was lunch time. I think I have a biscuit and gravy problem and there ain't no cure for me. The menu was really intriguing, lots of home cooked looking choices. I tried to talk myself out of breakfast for lunch but the magnetic pull was too strong, and I, too weak. The Mom ordered the taco salad. The staff was really nice, and they were prompt too. We had a nice booth along the window and we talked about the miles ahead and the wedding we were headed to. Quickly the food arrived. Mom had a beautiful tortilla bowl full of avocado, chicken, beans, rice and lettuce. The salsa was a bit too spicy for Mom, it was just right for me. Stuffed biscuits and gravy, with hash browns and two eggs, $10.99. It was a sizeable biscuit with eggs, sausage and cheese in the middle, covered with creamy white goodness. It was every bit as good as it sounds. The rest rooms were immaculately clean, the prices were very fair and it was such a great experience that on the return trip three days later we stopped again for dinner. I opted for more traditional food for late afternoon and Mom tried a different salad. She's gluten free and they had good options for her and the wait staff even said a lot of things could be made gluten free. It is not often that I do a visit on a return trip. I am usually looking for the next thing, but Sid's was so good I broke my own rule. You should too. read more

We are passing through Winnamucca on our way home. Stopped at Sid's. It is a home style kind of diner place with good home cooking. I had the taco salad and hubby had the hot Turkey plate.
