If you are ever in Winnemucca, I highly recommend Sid's! The food is very good, the service was great, and the price can't be beat! The soup of the day was lentil, and I have never had better lentil soup. Brought back good memories of that prepared by Canadian-American cooks from my past. The half sandwich was ham and cheese, and was a pleasant surprise, since I was expecting cheese product and ham luncheon meat. No, it was real cheese and real sliced ham. Very good. I've been here 5 times and STILL haven't tried anything but breakfast! The breakfast here is just so good! But I desperately want to come and try their meatloaf, I bet it's great! Upon walking in, you're greeted with a sign that shows you what today's specials are. READ THAT SIGN!!! The specials change often, and I always forget to read them before ordering, and then I leave without getting to try them. Then you'll get seated in the section either to the left (all tables) or to the right (all booths). If you're getting here after 9 AM or so. You'll get a menu that doesn't have any breakfast on it. For a place that serves breakfast all day, you'd think they'd be handing out breakfast menus all day, but that's not the case. You'll get the lunch/dinner menu if you don't come any earlier then opening time. But rest assured, you can always ask for a breakfast menu, I just wish they'd always give you the option instead of only giving the lunch/dinner menu. We had some family visit here without us and they only got the lunch/dinner menu and left feeling a little disappointed and hungry (they were too nervous to ask for the breakfast menu). If you're sat to the right, congratulations! You'll get great, speedy service and you'll get to watch traffic go by on Winnemucca Blvd. You'll also be able to watch the cooks place the food in the window, and watch them squeeze fresh orange juice if someone orders it! If by chance you're sat to the left, sorry. Every time we've sat here in this section, we've felt pretty forgotten about. Servers took quite a while to come and take our orders, drinks (besides coffee) were not refilled without asking, and rarely did a server check in on us to see if everything was alright. That being said, this place is still THE spot for breakfast. My favorite item on the menu: The Jared's Omelette. This fluffy omelette is filled with chopped up country fried steak, and smothered in their delicious gravy and cheese. This omelette, served with hashbrowns (or diced potatoes) and toast, also pairs well with their fluffy biscuits and gravy. I'd love to give you a tour of everything on the menu, but this review would be even longer. I will leave you with this, out of everything we have tried, we haven't had a single thing we didn't like. We visited on Wednesday, August 15, 2023 in the afternoon. We were allowed to choose our own table which was nice. Our server was friendly. The floor was dirty under some of the booths. All the tables were clean. The food was not good. Ordered a cheeseburger and fries. My wife ordered the french dip. The burger was okay and the french dip was terrible. Two bites and done. The fries were were terrible as well, soggy and barely room temperature. We will not return. read more

This was a great pitstop on our road trip to Boise. I'm a sucker for Hollandaise sauce and Sid's delivered. I had the croissant sandwich, which is an open faced sandwich with bacon, tomatoes (diced) avocado, the most perfect poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce. Pork chops with salad and homemade blue cheese dressing, baked potato, green beans and sweet cornbread. All delicious. Staff was very nice and we were able to seat ourself. My bf got the French dip with fries. The fries were not cooked all the way, soggy, not seasoned, and oily. The French dip was okay. I got a chef salad and asked for tuna instead of the ham and turkey. I was thankful they were able to do that for me. The tuna was not seasoned and had so much mayo. They've got mugs for the regulars. They know everyone by name. They even have the drinks poured and ready before many sit down. I love it. I ordered the CFS with over easy and sourdough. Steak was moist, but not quite crispy. The gravy was ok, but not exciting. The hash browns saved the day. Delicious. Coffee was kept full, and the service was attentive. I will come back. read more
