I have had nothing but fantastic experiences at this place! The owner is super personable, the staff is very helpful and straightforward. I can usually drop my car off and have my tire changed within the hour. On busier days it can take 2-3 hours, but the employees always call and give you updates. I've been commuting a lot for work lately so I've had 3 tires changed here within the last few months. It's been a great experience every time. The first time I stopped in Allied, I'd busted a tire right before heading to work in Nola and had to get on the road ASAP! I was in a huge hurry and the owner was extremely accommodating. We chatted a bit about jazz music and he actually played a Herbie Hancock tune over the lobby speakers while I waited. That just about made my day. Last weekend I had an egg in my tire, but couldn't spend the money on a new one so I asked the guys at Allied to just take a look and tell me how bad it was. They showed me it was completely split down to the threads, and I definitely couldn't drive on it. Knowing I couldn't afford a new tire yet, they put a discarded tire in better shape on my car just so I could make it to work that weekend. For free. I was blown away by the gesture. I had my tire patched at the Staring Lane location, and while my car was there, my windshield was damaged. The business has acknowledged that the damage occurred on their property, although they said they do not know how it happened. The employee who worked on my car was conveniently not employed there just a few days later, so there are no witnesses or cameras to corroborate their claims. Within a day, the crack spread to the point that it obstructed my line of sight and made the vehicle unsafe to drive. I was unable to drive my car to work and had to pay out of pocket for a mobile windshield replacement. Despite acknowledging that the damage happened on their property, they have refused to take responsibility or reimburse the cost. I'm disappointed in how this was handled and would not recommend this company based on this experience. read more

Been a customer for a long time. However the last time. I brought my car in for a simple tire fix they tried to scare me into $1200 in repairs including brakes and such. Even tried to tell me it would be dangerous to drive car very far. The one rep seemed a little nervous when telling me and what seemed to be a manager kept interjecting which put up a red flag for me. Took my car to two other mechanics (one a friend trusts with his life) and both said the same thing.....Tire Choice was ripping you off. Don't go to Allied! This used to be a fantastic, dependable business. In fact I found it on Yelp!! The employees were friendly but professional. Was consistently pleased w/ their work. About 1 yr ago. I hit a huge pothole which destroyed my tire and dented my rim. I had the car towed to Allied to replace the tire. Today the tire light came on and I saw that the tire was tearing. The tread was also extremely worn down. Not even a year old and less than 10,000 miles. The man behind the desk strutted out & stated that because the rim was dented, I hit something to cause the tear so the warranty didn't apply. I had a receipt for the tire but of course it didn't say that the car had been towed there. He wasn't going to bother looking it up on the computer and I could no longer tolerate his smug attitude and agreed to just buy another tire (late on Friday afternoon I didn't want to be stuck without a tire!) I'm furious but also really bummed --it's hard to find dependable auto services. read more

I went into Allied knowing almost exactly what I needed done. My breaks had extended past the squeaking sound (which I never heard) to a grinding. I knew upfront that I needed more than just brake pads replaced and it was going to cost a pretty penny. I called around a few places to get a few quotes and was very quickly dissatisfied with most of them. I found Allied on Yelp and it had some of the highest reviews and claimed to have some of the lowest prices. I took it in without hesitation and they quoted me around 100 to 200 dollars cheaper than the earlier quotes I had. They gave me some of the friendliest customer service I have received and were very honest about my cars issues. I will be returning for more maintenance and repair in the future! read more

I recently changed my tires at Allied Discount Tire and Brake they had fast service and reasonable pricing. The other tire store on Essen turned me down at first because I wanted to put my lightly used tires (they were changed to snow tires and sitting in storage) on my car. I was given all kinds of excuses for not wanting to do the work while they were just chatting with each other. Thankfully I found this tire shop just down the street and they helped me out. The cost of dismount/mount/balance was $26 per tire out the door. It was crowded (for a good reason) and I was in and out in about an hour. read more

Great friendly place. Doing a cross country road trip so not familiar to the area. Everywhere else was charging $30 plus for a simple tire rotation but here they said they could do it for free. I desperately needed a tire rotation since I've been driving for 9000 miles. Walked in and it looks like they are doing some remodeling. And they are not cheap tires (low profile) but he gave me an awesome price and a warranty and everything.
