We have had lunch and dinner here a few times and have been very pleased with the food, service and ambiance. Put this restaurant just about anywhere and I'd rate it highly, but being on Cape Cod it scores an extra star - I always joke that food on the Cape is just different levels of mediocre - Sienna is better than most on the Cape. read more

Siena was started by a guy who had been a businessman who traveled constantly and was constantly disappointed by subpar dining. He created Siena to fill all of his desires - great food, consistently good quality, excellent service, extensive wine list. Needless to say, the place is a hit both with travelers (tourists) and locals alike, although its location in Mashpee Commons is a detraction for some. I haven't eaten here in a few years but I'm looking forward to going back next week. Hopefully Siena's standards have stayed high! --- Went there last week. First time here. Great experience. Food was fabulous. We had mussels appetizer followed by the Mediterranean salad and sausage pizza. Service was outstanding. I celebrated my birthday with dinner at Siena and it was great. The mussels we had for an appetizer were the biggest mussels I've ever seen, while my ribeye was made perfectly along with some nice crunchy asparagus. The service was amazing and we were never left wanting or needing anything. When the waitress found out it was my bday, she brought me a surprise sorbet with a candle. I love this restaurant. All the pastas are served to perfection (al-dente) and the powerful flavors in all of their dishes will blow you away. The best part is the gigantic image that hangs over their bar (two-stories high!!). It is beautiful composition of a narrow street of Siena just prior to a dinner party for thousands of neighbors during the Palio.This is the best authentic Italian food that I have had since 1999. read more

We went to Siena, waited for 25 minutes, (which is fine), but then sat at the table and were not greeted for over five minutes. It was busy, but someone should have at least stopped by. We left and went to Sopranos--- so much better! Amazing service, bread and more authentic! read more

This place started off so strong - Waitress was warm and welcoming.... Amazing Caprese salad that had delicious dressing, the warm crusty bread with parmesan mixed with spices and olive oil for dipping.... Delicious drink from the special menu...We should have stopped there... It would have been a 5 star review. I ordered Pistachio-Crusted Salmon with Risotto and asparagus, my daughter ordered meatballs. Then we waited....other tables sat down, got their food and we still waited. Waitress was very apologetic. We understood - we both have worked in restaurants, these things happen. But when the dinner came out we both decided it wasn't worth the wait....Salmon was tasty but the risotto was very watery - asparagus rock hard. Spaghetti and meatballs were just ok. We should have told her we wanted the small portion - but waitress didn't ask which size we wanted and brought the large one. Next time we'll try something different. read more

I really like Siena. I would agree with some of the other reviewers that it is on the pricey-side, especially for easy foods like pizza and pasta. But, I have been coming here for about 6 years, and have never been disappointed. The ambiance is really nice and warm, and the pizza is really tasty. My favorite is their sausage pizza. I have never had issues with service here, but I am guessing that Scott's unfortunate experience was the result of a really bad waiter, and would imagine no longer works there. Not that there is any excuse for poor service, it is a pet-peeve of mine. But, for those thinking about going to Siena, I would recommend it as a nice, consistent place to dine and have good food. read more

Went for lunch. The space in Mashpee Commons is real nice, clean and modern. I sat by the window and waitress came right over. Outside they had a sign that said $5.00 drink specials, ask waitress.... so that I did. I was told that there was not drink specials for lunch. (Go figure) I would have given them 4 stars if I did not encounter the "ask for drink specials... NO SPECIALS offered" disappointment. That being said, I ordered a portabella mushroom, asparagus, goat cheese, lettuce & tom, Wrap; with a side salad. It was delicious. It was fresh and crispy and the side salad was dressed with a quality balsamic dressing. My $11.00 cucumber gin & tonic was delicious but let me say again... it was $11.00. Sure would have liked a $5 drink special. Overall, service was good, food was real good and price was normal for the Cape. read more

I'm NEVER that picky about food, yet this was top 3 of our (my husband and mine) worst food experiences. The place is just very "commercial"... Nothing authentic or delicious about it. I will say they were accommodating with our kid and helpful with heating up his puree. The service was ok, but nothing to rave about. Apparently they do have a good wine list, but we didn't get wine so I can't vouch for that part. They gave us bread (crust was hard as a rock, burnt to the point were it wasn't enjoyable) with oil that looked and tasted nothing like olive oil. We ordered bruschetta and were disappointed to see it came with the same hard burnt crust bread that hurt your gums, plus some sort of white bean dip which is far from the traditional bruschetta (some people MAY like that I guess??). The Mediterranean salad wasn't bad, just not to my taste, it was "loaded" so if people like that, I guess this is their type of salad! I personally prefer my salad not to be swimming in dressing and I'd like artichokes and tomatoes that actually taste good - these didn't. We had a marguerita pizza... Not many places can mess up pizza... This place was successful at screwing it up.. The tomato was put on in splats, it tasted like wal mart "great value brand" tomato paste, the cheese was hard and tasted like the most un-natural plasticky thing I've had (and I love almost every cheese on earth), and it had maybe 6 strings of basil on it. The crust was nothing special making it the worst pizza I've had. Bad sauce (or whatever they used), bad cheese and a bad crust are the reasons why... It's not "Regina's" at least.. I really wanted to like this place since I came in craving italian, but from the moment the server told me the pesto was swimming in oil I should've read the red flags... It's not pricey, but I wouldn't waste my money. The reason this has 2 stars is the location - it's very convenient. Hope you choose wisely next time you are craving a nice Italian meal or a pizza! read more

This place wasn't terrible; I'd actually give it 3 stars but I deduct one due to it being terribly overpriced. Perhaps it's the Cape Cod tax for their prices, but a 100% markup on wine is insane. I didn't have their pizza. It looks like it could be good. However I had the cioppino and it was in no way shape or form worth what I paid. This restaurant is pricey and has a good atmosphere, but I have been here 3 times and each time I have had a different experience with the food quality. The first time was for a Valentines Day reservation with my girlfriend - the food was absolutely delicious. I got the wild boar and gnocchi appetizer, with steak for a main course and the tiramisu for a desert. All three really knocked it out of the park, and it was well worth the price. The second time, the food was quite lacking, and I was very disappointed with the food given the expectations from the first time. The third time was an overall okay experience. I ordered the calamari for an appetizer, which was pretty tasty. For my entree, I got the veal parm (or whatever it is called on the menu) and the veal was good but the pasta itself had little to no sauce and was very bland, which almost negated the great veal. I then order the Coconut Rum Cake special desert which was phenomenal. The shocker from this experience was my girlfriend threw up immediately once she got home, which is not too far from the restaurant. She ordered the chicken Parm and is now very hesitant to try this place again. I am given Siena a 4/5 because I don't like leaving too negative reviews, but the food quality has not been consistent. I am willing to try Sienna one more time, but it has to deliver great food for this review to remain a 4/5. read more

Horrible! Just returned from the cape last week. We stayed in Mashpee and was pleased to see several nice restaurants in the commons that looked good, Siena being one. Their menu looked amazing and exactly what we were craving...good italian. Needless to say this was the worst meal I've had in quite a long time! Most of the food that arrived was not warm. They served each of our dishes (there was 4 of us) at completely different times making it hard to eat together. My husband's mussels looked wonderful but might as well have been in a bowl of water with parsley...no flavor. I ordered a wonderful sounding italian meat loaf. When it arrived it looked as if it had sat under a heat lamp for 30 min...dry and crusty. The only plus was their wine menu. I would recommend the wine bar across the street for great food. Went here for a quick weekend lunch and upon entering expected it to be way formal and take too long to get our food. On the contrary, they served up a phenomenal clam chowder that despite it's small cup size it was meaty and filling. Definately on the high end in regards to the cape. Ordered a generous prosciutto fontina cheese panini with basil aioili and a side Caesar. The sandwich was filling and I only could manage a few bites, but will definately enjoy for leftovers! We were looking for a place to eat without a reservation during a holiday weekend on the Cape. After being turned away by two restaurants who were full, we were able to get a table outside at Siena. Our server was very pleasant and quickly took our drink order. We reviewed the menu and order three different pizzas; sausage, margharita and one called the Dani (I may be off on the spelling). The Dani had bacon and carmelized onions.....delicious. The pizzas were delivered quickly and all were excellent. The outdoor seating was great on a beautiful summer night. Enjoyed the food but the service (namely the hostess) was a bit of a challenge. Last time we were there we waited almost an hour to be seated, we finally left for another restaurant (and there were empty tables just apparently no willing wait staff to serve us). Prior to the last time we felt the food was good and the wine was tasty. We'll go back again...but if we have the same experience as this last time, it will be our last. read more

We have done take out from here for several years and it is hands down the best pizza in the area. The pesto pizza is great as was the cheese and pepperoni that we ordered. We tried several of the salads and the homemade dressings were delicious. My only complaint is that sometimes they get so busy that they stop taking take out orders! read more

I took my wife and daughter here for dinner this evening. I would say the food was above average, but the service below average. We were seated about 7:30 and our waitress showed up about 10 minutes later. When she did we placed our beverage order which took over ten minutes for it to be delivered. It came piecemeal with ice tea, then water and finally a glass of wine. We then placed our order of an appetizer of roasted artichoke, Cesaer salad, their Power Salad and two orders of chicken parm. Well after that everything went downhill . Our Artichoke app was delivered by a different waitress than who took the order. They were excellent but I felt a little pricy for three pieces. We never received our Caesar salad and it took over 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive. Net net like I said good food but poor service. This was over a two hour dinner from seating to receiving the check I think management has to do a better job of training their waitstaff. read more

My mother and I stopped by for lunch yesterday after hearing how good their pizza was from some friends. It wasn't extremely busy, we were seated fast. My mother had the Margarita Pizza for one and I had the Italian Grinder on Ciabatta bread. We were served fast by an excellent server. There was an absolutely beautiful picture above their bar and I wanted to know more about it. I asked our waiter and he gave us a perfect description and pointed out the other pictures surrounding the restaurant and gave us a description of those. That was my first time eating at Siena's and I will definitely be going back again. read more

Stopped by for an early dinner on Friday night, 5 ish. Had the grilled artichoke as app...delicious. My dinner was the Halibut ciambutta...halibut was awesome...bed of veggies and rice was spectacular.. .companion had sausage penne, lots of cheese so you know it was great! House martini with Gorgonzola olives was nicely done and great presentation. Service was very good. All in all, a wonderful dinner. Will definitely return. read more

I had the Caesar Chicken Wrap - no croutons were in it (as the menu says) but what was worse was that the chicken was "choke on it bone dry." If it wasn't take-out I would have returned it, it was THAT bad. Also, there was no dressing in the wrap and way too much shave Parmesan cheese (that added to the dryness). I literally gagged on the dryness....and that's too bad as I've had this many times in the past but the last two have been terrible. Not sure what they're using for chicken but I can get crap like this at Subway. It used to be very good - maybe they have new kitchen staff. I'll try something else next time, the meatball panini was good the last time I had it, I'll go back to that. read more

Siena is a very solid dining experience that, unfortunately, tends to be rather hit or miss. It is certainly a staple in my family's eating out dinner rotations, but I could be a little bit more excited each time it's Siena's turn to have a go. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. A nice, fancy dining room with great huge pictures of people feasting in the streets of Siena, Italy. It's a great atmosphere and I'm a huge fan. The Pizza is okay, the pasta is okay, the salads are okay, the steak is okay. This is a very okay restaurant, parading as a very good restaurant. Because of my perception of the quality of the food, I find the menu to be overpriced. Some things can get up to $30. Service is always excellent, food is meh. I'm not sure I would reccomend another person to go there. It might be fun for drinks or something. Unfortunately, givign dining in Mashpee commons, Siena is your best bet unless you go for Asia. read more

I live in Mashpee and have eaten at Siena many times, most of the time my food is delicious. The last time I went it was horrible. Service was good. Husband got the spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs were dry and crusty. I ordered the roast chicken special. No seasoning on the chicken so it was bland, the chicken was cooked okay but the skin was colorless and fatty when it should have been crispy, sides were cold. I find a lot of restaurants on The Cape are hit or miss. It would be nice to find a consistently good place. read more

I went to Siena with some friends this weekend and I have to say, it's been a while since I've had that great of an experience at a restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient, and the meals were timed perfectly with each other. Also, the drinks were amazing!! My dinner, the Cod Filet, was delicious and my friends enjoyed their Chicken Parmesan, and Beef Filet immensely. The Parmesan Risotto was so good I wanted to take it home! For Dessert, we ordered the special, which was their version of Strawberry Shortcake...it was fabulous! I highly recommend Siena to anyone looking for an excellent night out! read more

Up here for the week and looking for things other then standard New England seafood joints. Saw good reviews and decided to give it a shot. As wine folks, I always go tho the list, and pricing speaks volumes. While we didn't order the Opus One, it was $50 less then retail across the street! We had a very nice dinner at Siena. We chose from the pre fixe menu consisting of five courses. I had the pistachio crusted salmon along with salad, appetizers, dessert, etc. Service was exceptional. The wine list is also above average. I have no serious complaints...actually no real complaints at all. The interior of the restaurant is nice, but not as quaint & inviting as some of the other establishments...still, nothing to really complain about. I will definitely go back at some point in the future. read more
