Our dining experience was very disappointing beginning with dirty water glasses, appetizer plate and then served water with a lemon seed and pepper floating in the glass....GROSS! Weeknights, when the place isn't slammed and the kitchen hasn't fallen into the weeds, you can get a good pizza here. The Alpine is a good one, just ask for it well done. Otherwise, hit this popular place at the wrong time and expect undercooked food, some spacey service, and long waits at the door if you arrive without a reservation. The entrees are so-so but never great. Soups, pasta sauces, etc. are kind of Chef Boyardee and aren't very good for the high price. Shame, they could be awesome, but settle for decent. Average at best. I really wanted to like this place. It has great atmosphere and the waitstaff was very friendly, but it really came down to the food. We were in on a Wednesday night ( perhaps a factor) and opted for the special four course dinners. Between the calamari, mussels, Caesar salads and steak tip and salmon entrees, the only thing that stood out were the fresh anchovies on the salad. My steak tips ordered medium rare came out to the table very rare and had to be redone which made timing awkward for eating our entrees together. Tiramisu desert was lacking flavor and felt like it had been sitting in a refrigerator for too long as the lady fingers on the bottom had become hardened. Maybe I will return on a weekend and stick to the Italian fare. This particular night was a disappointment. read more

If the weather is nice you need to sit outside. I am here always in vacation mode so I have more patience for waiting a bit before being seated or for slower service, but we have not had this experience here. It is a good place for the kids and the food has been consistent. read more

I thought Siena was one of the best meals I've ever had on the Cape, if not the best. I agree that the food on the Cape is usually sub par (I should know, I've been going to the Cape every year multiple times for the past 23 years). Unless you're getting clam chowder or some kind of fried fish (which isn't always outstanding either), it can be quite a challenge to find food as good as Siena's on the Cape. I see a lot of people saying the prices are high... I don't really agree with that. The prices are fairly reasonable for a nice restaurant in a vacation area. I went here with my boyfriend on New Years Eve. The restaurant was vibrant and bustling, with NYE props and hats being distributed to all. Our waiter was one of the best I've had. He could answer every question we had and he answered them honestly, which I appreciate. He could tell us the specifics about every dish, which shows signs of a seasoned waiter, even though he was quite young. I ordered the Pan-Seared Salmon. I am a salmon fiend, and often order it if it is offered on a menu. This was in the top 3 salmon dishes I've had. The salmon was cooked perfectly to my liking (medium well) and the sides were exquisite. My boyfriend ordered the veal saltimbocca. He loved it. We both got doggie bags because the portions are generous, and we wanted to taste the amazing meal again the next day. I will definitely go back to Siena when back in Mashpee, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great Italian meal on the Cape. read more

We had dinner Saturday night at Siena and it was terrific. Started out with a bottle of St. Francis Chardonnay that was smooth and buttery. For food we had an Antipasto that was chocked with meats, cheeses, olives and other goodies. Finished the meal with penne pasta with marinara sauce and fettucchine with Bolognese sauce. The penne with marinara was good, however the Bolognese sauce looked more like a meat stew than sauce. It was very wet so that the pasta was sitting in a puddle of water. I would not get it again. Our server was great and all in all the evening was very nice. The place was very crowded so we were glad that we had a reservation. read more

My cousin raves about Siena. It's one of his favorite restaurants on the Cape. I thought the food was okay. It was not the most impressive Italian food I have consumed, but not terrible either. We started with the bruschetta and I had the eggplant pizza. I probably have been spoiled living in Boston and having traveled to Italy. I thought the ambiance was so-so. It seemed like they could use a little bit of a makeover. Things seemed a bit worn. The service was very good. We were served promptly, and the waitress checked in on us periodically in a manner that was not too hovercraftish. I found the prices to be more than reasonable. The clientele seemed to be mostly middle-aged to retirees. We were definitely the youngest patrons there. For the cost, I would go back again. read more

No such luck, eight of us for dinner and a $267.00 bill which would have been fine if the food wasn't so plain, no flavor I sent mine back others in our party just dealt with it. I have to give this a three star and no more unfortunately. I ended up ordering something I really didn't want it was salmon. I am celiac and they had very little choices for me. So disappointing especially for the amount of money that you're spending in this restaurant. I basically felt like a second-class citizen there were three entrées that were gluten-free or gluten-free modified salmon and two pasta dishes. I don't care for Salmon but ordered it anyway because the other two dishes were pasta dishes spaghetti and meatballs and veal Parmesan.. I am 100% Italian and of course very critical of spaghetti or any kind of pasta and I knew it was going be a high price for something I could just whip together myself at home. The salmon was just okay. When it came to desert it was the same old flourless chocolate cake so I ordered nothing while everyone at my table had a nice desert. The waitress kept explaining they didn't have much to offer because we came in between lunch and dinner times. Siena is a really solid establishment in the Mashpee commons. You know if you come here you are going to get a decent meal, even if a little overpriced. The waitstaff is always going to be friendly and the wait is usually never ore than half an hour. There really is no problem with Siena, there is also really nothing special about Siena either. HORRIBLE SERVICE! We made a reservation over a month ago. It had been for outdoors but due to pouring rain we had asked to sit inside upon arrival - we believed that this wouldn't be a problem since we had received a confirmation via text and assumed they wouldn't be sitting people outside in the pouring rain. When we arrived the hostess told us that we had to sit outside or wait 45 min to sit inside. She claims she called "several" times to tell us we'd have to sit outside but we had no missed calls and only had a text confirming our reservation. We asked to see the outside table - assuming it must be under cover. But she brought us to a sopping wet table that was not set up and had limited overturned chairs. The hostess was so rude to us, didn't apologize once, and could not understand why we were confused. We come here multiple times every summer but will definitely be hesitant to return after the horrible service. read more

We went here for the second time last night after a less than enthusiastic first visit. I was pretty upset but the managers- Nicole, particularly, was compassionate and understanding and invited us back. I give credit to getting a personal email from a manager a day after our experience. It shows that they are invested in their customers. Our first meal was in October so it took us awhile to make a date to return. In fairness, both times at the restaurant the food was flavorful. That's not the problem. The service and timing needs work. The first time we went a friend's meal was delayed and there wasn't clear accommodations made in the moment. When you're with a big party and you're the only one without food it's kinda awkward. This time, we did wait considerably between courses but the wait staff was pleasant. The bread is warm and homemade, the gnocchi with wild boar savory and the salads so yummy. We'll be back because there aren't many restaurants that do food this well but I'm still hopeful the service will continue to improve. Oh..and try a cocktail. They are delicious! read more

Every time we're on the cape we make sure to go to Siena at least once..fun and relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and staff and food is always delicious! The pizza is super thin and crispy, just the way it's made in Italy! The entrees are massive and tasty..tonight I tried the cioppino and oh my gosh, the amount of fish in there was insane...all the pasta and other entrees are also plentiful! read more

We went here for dinner last week with my in laws and the food was excellent. We only had a 10 minute wait without reservations. Staff was friendly. We sat upstairs, overall a nice atmosphere. We started with appetizers including the baby artichokes which were SO good! We have never had them prepared like that, they were roasted which made them so flavorful and tender. The aioli dip was a wonderful pairing. We also got the Parmesan truffle fries which were good, not too overpowering. The dip was actually quite spicy and delicious to me, but for people who don't like spicy they did not enjoy it as much. Also they had specials on the drink menu for $5 which is a great value, the blueberry vodka lemonade was tasty. My wife opted for a cosmo which was well balanced and not too sweet. For dinner we ordered chicken parm, pan roasted cod, veal piccata, short rib ravoilis and lobster raviolis. All entrees were thoroughly enjoyed. This restaurant is quite expensive considering 4/5 meals were $25+. Nice for special occasions. read more

Dropped in for lunch today at Siena in Mashpee Commons since we heard they have a lot of gluten-free options. The host was friendly, greeting us warmly and offering our 3 year old a toy when he saw her giving us a hard time as we walked in. We all ordered pasta with meatballs, which unfortunately came out burnt. However, management immediately and generously refunded our meal since we didn't have time to wait for them to fix it. My husband and I had a awesome meal at Siena last night. We live on cape cod year round and it was our first time eating there. We had delicious appetizers, followed by a scallop entree, cooked to perfection. Service was great too, our waitress was professional, knowledgeable and friendly.
