The service here was exquisite, we walked in around 7 PM on a Saturday and were seated at the hightop table within two minutes. They have a wonderful selection of thin crust artisan pizza. The mozzarella di bufala is essentially the same as the margarita pizza so if you are looking at both of them, I would only recommend ordering one. The fig and pig pizza was the all time favorite. At the end of our dinner, our server gifted us some cannolis as it was our first time dining here. It was an excellent dinner and we will 100% come back here. read more

First time in Hyannis and decided to try here on a whim. The service was quick and the food was delicious. Our server was friendly and checked on us frequently. We were a larger group and were happily surprised to have gotten all our pizzas and apps not long after we ordered. Quite a nice restaurant with amazing Neopolitan style pizza on Main Street in Hyannis, MA. The oven itself is is a work of art (and came from Bella Napoli) and we are so glad we sat at the pizza bar to watch the action. Fascinating to see how well these young folks created the pizzas. They were very focused with attention to detail and they also had some fun with it. We ordered pizzas, a must have mozzarella di bufala and the other a crushed potato with garlic cream,scallion, mozzarella and bacon! We loved watching the pizza being created and then placed into that amazing oven. Both were absolutely delicious and so fresh tasting. The menu also includes salads, appetizers and other dishes, but I would highly recommend the pizza. The entire place, including the restrooms, was clean with a casual ambiance. Service was great. On street parking where you can find it and we were fortunate to have secured a spot quite close. We will come again and highly recommend. 4.5 stars. read more

As a vegan, finding dishes I can eat on the Cape can be difficult, but Pizza Barbone always comes through! The housemade vegan cashew cheese is surprisingly excellent (and thankfully lacks the unfortunate gluey texture of many commercial brands of vegan cheese). A lot of their pizzas can be veganized - I've tried vegan versions of the margherita, forest mushroom, veggie, and potato pizzas and they have all been excellent but I will forever crave the simplicity of the margherita. I really enjoy a wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizza and these are the best rendition you can find on the Cape. The beet salad is also a nice start to the meal, although it can be inconsistent - sometimes I've gotten truly massive chunks of beets and sometimes thinner wedges (my preference). This pizza is best piping hot straight out of the oven and cools off quickly, so even though I have ordered for pickup several times I wouldn't recommend it - stay in the restaurant! It is clean and bright and a lovely spot for a nice dinner on Main Street. I've always had attentive servers who were very helpful in figuring out what could be made vegan. Great pizza restaurant on main street in Hyannis. The mushroom pizza was good with a smoky mozzarella flavor and garlic cream sauce. Lots of mushrooms too. The verde pizza was flavorful with arugula, fresh ricotta and garlic cream sauce. Pizzas were hot and delicious. Crust was soft and chewy. Had the $16 pizza lunch deal, any 12 in pizza, salad and drink. Great deal. Salad was incredible with fresh greens and shaved carrots. Had the special garlic knots, incredible. Fried pizza bread pieces smothered in garlic and cheese and olive oil. Large portion. Good service. Sat outside on the street. Nice experience. read more

We have a party of nine and made a reservation in advance (only one day). Parking was on the street and pretty easy to find but I suspect we got lucky. The hostess was friendly and got us all set up. The waitress was attentive and sweet. We ordered the meatballs... wowza !! So good we got another two orders. Then we got a few traditional pizzas. Pistachio pizza, Pepperoni pizza and the Salad with apples and goat cheese. Everything was tasty and fresh. Pepperoni pizza was the big winner! I'm still dreaming about the salad! Everyone loved it. Sometimes you go to a place with great reviews and it's not very good. Absolutely not this time! This place has one of the best Neapolitan pizzas on the cape. Trading Post Lounge in Bourne has great bar pizza if that's your thing and this one has fantastic brick oven pizza. Service was great, nicely decorated and just an all round nice experience. They have a lunch special that was very reasonable, pizza, salad and soda for $17 bucks. Definitely go again if we are in Hyannis. read more

This is the best pizza place on the Cape. Period. Okay, I'll qualify that statement by saying that it's the best Neapolitan pizza place on the Cape... but I believe it's the best style of pizza. And Italians would agree. Pizza Barbone has a legitimate wood oven that cooks theor pizzas to perfection. And the flavors that they offer are diverse and ah-mazing. My go to is their soppressata pizza, extremely savory w a just a hint of spice. I generally pair this with Barnstable Brewing 2 Jesuits IPA which packs a punch. The service and staff here are always polite, attentive and informed about their menu. One of the cool things about Barbone is there is a bar where patrons can watch the pizzas being prepared and cooked in the beautiful wood fired oven while they enjoy their drinks. If you are in Hyannis and pizza is on your horizon I think you will be more than happy with this pleasant Main St pizza mainstay. read more

I had ravioli with a marinara sauce that was simple but absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself had expanded since my last visit in 2020, so it was spacious and bright. We have been meaning to come to this place for a while. Initially, GF was opposed on the grounds that we recently left the mostly pizza hellhole that is massachusetts and moved to NY and I imagine you already know the quality of pizza there. She didn't think it made much sense to pursue pizza during our business trips to Hyannis. After that finally wore off, Pizza Barbone was closed literally every time we made our way to main street. Finally we were available to eat dinner on Main on a Saturday night and snatched up the opportunity to sample this place. They have enough very appealing options that made decision making a challenge. We knew we were going to have pizza but we needed to supplement with some apps. There was something on their specials menu that aggressively appealed to me, I think it was crostini with whipped ricotta, a vegetable of some sort (broccoli rabe perhaps?), sundried tomatoes, and maybe olives. GF steered me in another direction because this was very similar to what we were about to order (pizza) which is reasonable. I settled on their roasted cauliflower to start with golden raisins, pickled red onions (I avoided, obviously), breadcrumbs, and ricotta salata. Delicious. I actually had about 1 cauliflower floret when I realized GF hadn't tried it and quickly offered. "You're really going to ask me if I want some after eating it all?". She didn't want it anyway, I'm certain of it. GF ordered the truffle fries which were a special on that evening. I would like to exclaim that this was the biggest pile of fries I have ever received from a restaurant. It took up essentially the entire plate. The fries were crispy and heavenly seasoned. We ate literally so many of them, due to portion size of course, that we could barely eat any pizza. Don't think we didn't try. I ordered the margherita and GF the bianca verde. The crust on these things is incredible. This is definitely some of the best pizza in town. We also ordered drinks, did you think for even a second that we didn't? I wanted to get the stinging rose but GF beat me to it. She felt it was a little bit too sweet and even though I like them on the sweeter side, I would have to agree. We just got back from Italy and we miss it dearly. I came into this town to meet an old associate for lunch. A friend recommended Barbone to us as creative and different but her preferred. There was outdoor seating on sidewalk. I was early and decided on the inside. It was very nice inside with good temperature control. The feel was totally cool and different than what I saw from just outside. It had that European flair. When the pizza came it had a wonderful smell and tasted even better. It was a winner. Close your eyes and you are in Naples. The server named Kelsey was talkative, chill and professional. Very good service. A little pricey for a small pizza but it was good quality. read more

We decided to be seated at the pizza bar (where you watch them make pizzas) with comfortable bar seats. We started with the beet salad with candied hazelnuts. Fresh arugula with splinters of green apple to create sweet and herbaceous flavor. Main course was their signature meat balls and sweet Italian sausage pizza. I'm a meatball snob to my wife perfecting a family recipe so I was not 100% satisfied a little to dry and breadcrumb tasting. But I would try them again. The pizza was delicious. The beet salad was excellent... fresh, vibrant, & balanced... with a brittle that added texture & just a little sweetness... something we all shared across the table & kept talking about. The pistachio pizza was the star... really unique... salty, savory, with a bit of acid that balanced it out beautifully... we added sausage to it... & the combo was perfect. After reading Frommer's travel guide and visiting the website for Barbone's, I was excited to try their pizza. It is rated in Frommer's as the best on the Cape! Not only is it NOT the best on the Cape, it pales in comparison to some of the pizza greats such as Pepe's or our own local pizzerias in New London. We sent the sausage pizza back because it was underdone and the sausage was under cooked. The second pizza was slightly better and the sausage texture was still a dry crumble and tasted bland. Why don't I go to Hyannis more often! Yesterday I had the most delicious pizza on the Cape, went out on a limb and ordered a white pizza with arugula and pistachio pesto. I was sooo delicious, even today I reheated it ( removed the arugula first them put it back on when heated) and it was just as tasty today. Thank you Pizza Barbone! My lunch mates got three other types and even thought I only tried 1 of them ( pepperoni with hot honey) the others looked amazing as well. We got the mushroom and one with sauce and the dough/crust was cooked well- not too charred like I had requested. But it could have used more flavor. I'm used to a Neapolitan style place by me that has awesome flavor in the crust. The meatballs were good- not great. Nice atmosphere. The pizza is unique and delicious with the best crust I've had in a while. I was so excited to try their hot honey pepperoni pie and it did not disappoint.
