I've come here in recent months for two fireplace projects. There's a lot of tile selections for any design project you can imagine for your home, inside and outside. Despite the small store front, I was amazed how many nooks and crannies there are in this store filled with tiles of many sizes, shapes, colors and designs. The staff here is very helpful. Even when placing my order over the phone after my in person visit, I received very attentive assistance for my projects. Went to this store during the week several months ago and they were busy, but once a salesperson started helping us we had her undivided attention. I think that may be the issue with some reviewers... This is not a big warehouse store where they just point you in the direction of what you are looking for and then they're free to point the next person to what they want. This store has a HUGE selection and they take the time to help you find and match exactly what you want. It's like you have your own personal designer. That may mean you have to wait a few minutes for help. It's worth it. Today I went back to make a final selection and place an order. It's Saturday and I expected a long wait as the parking lot was full. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a woman at the front desk. Before she could finish what she was doing, a gentleman - Thomas - asked me if I was being helped. My total wait time was maybe a minute and a half. He took me around the whole store showing me exactly what I had already looked at (it was still in the computer from several months ago). He helped me choose a different floor tile and was very patient, funny and fun to work with. I'd highly recommend this place and Thomas, to anyone. They have thousands of tiles; the common styles and some very different and unique ones, at reasonable prices. read more

Wow! I bought my tile for my bathroom here and I'm glad my contractor told me to go here! I was reading all the negative reviews here and maybe they were bad years ago or maybe those people are just hiding from the employees because the customer service was awesome! They did have sort of mix up but I think they took care of it. I went there for a second visit for two more of my bathroom getting remodeled this coming August and my pool as well immediately somebody that helped me before that was a nice Indian woman took care of me. That being said I believe you really should make an appointment to meet with them in order for you to get a better customer service experience. They are very very busy and it's not fair for people that have appointments to get put aside because you didn't have an appointment and you're all upset because you're not getting the attention you need. And if you have a project you really really want to work on maybe you should take the initiative and call them up or email and make sure that you get your order processed instead of waiting. The mouth that doesn't cry does not get fed in the mouth that cries will get fed so make an appointment and email or call and get your order processed because they are excellent! The woman who helped me, I think her name was Carin (sorry if I spelled it wrong) was so nice, accommodating, and helped get me the tile I needed quickly. Wow, if I could give this place a big fat zero, I would. My mother and I went in to the store to gather information to make a very large order. Theresa was the "designer" who assisted us, and she seemed to not know a great deal of anything, telling us that she would look it all up for us and get back to us. She took down all the info, and I had hopes that someone would tell her what was what. A day passed. Another day passed. Finally, I emailed. I emailed again. Finally, I took my business to Art and Tile on Broadway in Oakland, where they actually paid attention to me. But back to this terrible service. Eventually, we ordered thousands of dollars of tile (the very tile we were looking at at Siena), and my elderly mother took back the tile smples. When she told Theresa that she had not gotten back to my emails, Theresa said, "Oh, I was too busy to email back." Really. Looking at Mary M's review, I think Theresa did us a big favor by being such a horrible salesperson. So, thank you, for not doing your job. Don't expect much from Siena. read more

Went to this place at the suggestion of my son-in-law, a contractor ...found the tile we liked, ordered it, came in when they said it would...done deal. expectations met. Turns out we were short about 6 tiles for under counter coveing...went back..expecting to get ripped off on freight for 6 tiles...young lady charged me $50 freight for $63 worth of tiles...not happy but what could I do...charged it and left... 20 minutes later same young lady called me and asked if it was a rush order...I said not really...she said in that case I will remove the $50 freight and tiles will be in next week on their regular shipment I would have never known the difference. 5 stars for Siena Tile and Thomas. Thomas was great about listening to me about my style AND budget. He didn't tell try to upsell me, but gave me great tips and ideas that I didn't even think about. He made me see when spending a little extra was worth it and when it wasn't. We tiled our downstairs shower/tub in a beautiful and simple travertine and are currently doing a master bath with the same travertine, but Thomas helped us add some extra pops of color to make it look a little more polished and fancy. Doing a remodel can be super overwhelming, especially when you walk into the store and see so many different colors and patterns and styles. I appreciate the time he spent with me helping break it into smaller, less daunting pieces. I cannot wait to see the finished product. Its already looking beautiful. We were going to wait to do our kids bathroom but I think we might roll right into it now as I'm so so excited at how beautiful it's all turning out! Failure!!! I went to Siena Tile today on the recommendation of a contractor. I drove from Discovery Bay to San Ramon and got to Siena during business hours. However, the two women coming out the front door said they were closed due to poor air quality- due to The Camp Fire and the worst air quality in recent history. I told them I drove all this way and would it be possible to take a look at least. Standing on the outside doorway, with no masks on they wanted to tell me to first go pick out a vanity and get my measurements. I said I already had my vanity and measurements. They were clearly not interested in my business and after spending 5 minutes on the outside, they locked up and walked to their cars again with no masks on. Hmmm, I value my health, quality workmanship and my relationships with businesses , therefore I won't be back ever. read more

Worst customer service ever! Went into the store just before it was closing at 4:20, They close at 4:30. The owner was incredibly rude and refused to help us. Was on the phone and refused to acknowledge us. Basically told us to leave because he was closing.I would NEVER go back there or give Siena Tile any business! Great selection of tiles, great price and awesome customer service! My husband and I couldn't decide on our kitchen back splash. We wanted a unique design for our focal point. We went to many stores in the area, and have visited this store more than once because of indecision. Until we ran out of time to order anything that would arrive before completion of our kitchen renovation. I probably dealt with every single person in the store each time I've gone back, to a point of now knowing the entire crew. Despite of it all, each person I have dealt with was so helpful. From Trish, Rachelle, Maddie to Russ - you all rock! Maddie helped me pick the tiles, quickly drafted a sketch and ensured they were ready in no time. While Russ made sure everything was ordered perfectly, and that we had the write amount. Usually, a custom piece takes at least 4 weeks and Siena Tile managed to get our order in 2 weeks! Don't bother going to Coliseum Tiles across the street. Customer service is horrible. They are snobs! read more

I must say that everything started out great, the salesperson was very helpful in helping us on selecting tile for our whole house and coordinating the colors. I called them to tell them that one of the mosaic accent tiles that we ordered was wrong and that it was suppose to have some travertine in the mix of glass but there was no travertine in what we received. I was told that we receive what I asked for and it was in her notes that we did not want the travertine and we should have reviewed the order, but if you look at there invoice the line item for this tile says "Mus/Custom Blend 732203 with 20% Equ/Nirid-137" I am not sure about you but I have no idea what that means and I should not have to, they wrote and they should take responsibility but not, out of over $10,000.00 spent there I am asking them to fix $563.20 worth of tile and the salesperson and the owner both said NO. I will NEVER EVER go there again, they have the WORST customer service I have every had in a long time. Be warned. read more

So I went in today for the first time after finding them on Yelp and their customer service is horrible. I walked around and passed 5 people and not ONE person acknowledged my presence even though they were not busy nor helping customers. First of all, I do not personally know anyone that works at or owns Siena Tile. My husband and I walked in to the Livermore showroom 6 years ago and ended up very happy customers. However, a lot of that should be given to the tile installer. We were helped by Rabia. I told her we were on a budget and wanted to do quite a bit of tile in our Master Bath. I also told her I liked slate. She immediately helped us find a slate looking ceramic and also told us (from a design aspect) that a lot of time you can place one type of tile on the horizontal surfaces and another on the vertical. We picked two tiles (one slate looking) and also a nice travertine insert strip. When a tile installer walked in while she was helping us she said this is one of their best installers. We hired him and he did all the ordering and pricing and included his install on the quote. Well we were AMAZED at the end result. He did so much more (design wise) than we could have ever imagined. So where you buy your tile is probably not as important as the installer you hire. We are going back this month to pick out tile for our guest bath and using the same installer. (why I am posting this review now because of the haters on Yelp) I would recommend this place for the quality of their product, the amount of product to pick from and the design help. Also if they have more installers like the one they recommended to us then this is the place to go. PS: my installer still uses this place and is why we are going back and why I even knew they had this location since the Livermore store closed some time back. Sometime people have a bad day. I recently purchased tile from Siena Tile and Stone for my kitchen, pool bathroom, mudroom and bonus room. I had a large order. I was in Siena Tile and Stone many times to go over and over my selections. Almost every sales person there assisted me over the length of the project. They were always helpful. The person who helped the most with the design and selection of tiles was Rabiah. I visited many other tile showrooms and would never go anywhere else, but Siena Tile and Stone. Rabiah is a pro. She is unbelievable with color and symmetry. In our bonus room, we built a bar. My designer, picked out a green, quartzite stone for the top of the bar. Without even seeing the green quartzite, Rabiah chose a green effervescent tile for the backsplash. Rabiah layed it out in a herringbone design. At first I thought it wouldn't work, well was I wrong. Every person, contractor and worker who sees what she designed literally stops to admire the design. It is spectacular. Every time I went to Siena Tile, Rabiah was always willing to spend time with me. She has a calm manner. She is not a pushy salesperson. I wish I could post pictures of my house. It is stunning. I get so many compliments. You will not be disappointed with Siena Tile and Stone. read more

If it weren't for the helpful souls in this place, I could never have built my dream kitchen. I went thru a total rebuild, and the kitchen was a priority because I love to cook. I did not hire a designer, so I had to design and select all of the materials myself. I was doing ok until I came to the backsplash. As it was the last thing to go in the kitchen, I wanted to choose something that wasn't going to take 2-3 months to come in, and wasn't going to break the bank. I think I lived at Siena Tile for 3 weeks while I agonized over every tile board they had. Thankfully, everyone was so helpful. There was a gorgeous redhead that helped me initially, saved a sample board for me at her desk when I called in to ask for it. Thereafter, it was all Thomas. He would greet me every time I went in (which was daily), and would ask me if I am coming close to deciding. He helped me by patiently answering all of my questions on lead times, cost, etc, on every single tile I looked at. Which was a lot. He let me borrow sample board after sample boards to mull over. And would ask pertinent questions to help me decide on patterns. They have just about every tile designer you'd ever want, save a few (ann sacks, Sonoma tile, artistic tile, fire clay, heath were the few they don't carry). After 3 weeks of getting to know what I want and don't want in my kitchen, Thomas ended up steering me towards a beautiful gray marble from a local company with 4 days lead time, and the cost was half of what I was going to spend on a ceramic tile designer. As soon as I saw the sample board, I knew it was the one. Thomas also steered me toward a plaque that complemented the marble tile and my kitchen marvelously. Again, very agreeable lead time and 1/5 of the cost of the plaque that I originally wanted. He was also always available on the phone whenever I called with questions. Thank you Thomas! I was totally nervous walking in here. I am redoing my master bath and my contractor sent me here and told me to pick out some tile. I had a few pictures of things I liked but really no idea about tile or materials at all! Everyone was extremely helpful! I first met Thomas who greeted me warmly when I walked in. Rabiah then took me around he showroom, asked me lots of questions and showed me a lot of things until we determined what I liked and what would suit my bathroom and my lifestyle. My experience with Siena Tile & their team is that they are very disorganized - More then 1 person was working to assist me (place orders, process returns, process credits & place new orders) and the orders were placed incorrectly, no one called upon receipt of orders, orders were lost, returns were not processed correclty and the BIGGEST item was NO ONE knew what was going on with any of it. I do not generally take the time to give feedback (particularly negative) and I am trying to be polite but I just had to write to share "what a frustrating experience it was!" With more training of the staff, a database with notes that more carefully track conversations as well as the orders, more quick phone follow up & returned calls I think this place could be great because their tile & stone are beautiful and they offer nice variety. Don't go there.....it is over priced. It seems to cater to those who feel that they are only getting good value if they pay too much! I would strongly discourage patronizing this business as their prices are at least double if not triple what you can find elsewhere. In addition should you decide to buy something there...beware as there is a 30% restocking fee...even if you buy a tile that they carry in the store! I returned 6 tiles that were 3X the price I had paid ( for the same thing) at Tile Importers, and I was charged $15 to restock. This was on a $60 purchase. Ridiculous. I can see a re-stocking fee on something that has been special ordered. but this was something they already had. The manager was the guy who was processing the return and when I questioned the amount, he just shrugged it off. Don't go there.....it is over priced, poor customer service, a total rip-off. read more

CONTRACTORS BEWARE!!! If you are sending your client to look at tiles this is not the place to send them! First let me start by saying that we own a construction company and had previously sent a client there, he purchased THOUSANDS of dollars in tile. It was supposed to be at Siena Tile in 3 days. That was the reason the tile was purchased there. It took 90 days!!! Held up the whole project. When we asked if they could at least deliver the tiles we were told no. We went with another client to choose tiles and the owner spent a bit of time help her decide. As often is the case the client ended up changing her mind. Another one of our clients went in and due to the prices decided themselves to not buy from them. We recently went in with another client and I was approached by the owner of the company who told me he did not want to say in front of my client, but HE SAID HE DID NOT WANT TO HELP US. Apparently he got butt hurt when our last client decided to not buy from him. He told me I spent a lot of time with your client (a whopping 15 mins) and I heard about your husband. Really whats that I asked. He said he gets ideas and then buys somewhere else. Well thats what Ive heard he says, really from who? Oh the vendors (yea right). I told him my clients need to know that you will not help us and I will never refer another client here again. If he was smart he would've realized that we had brought another client into his business and she was ready and willing to purchase. And guess what...as many business, construction and sales people know, sometimes you spend hours, days even months with a client and then they change their mind. Thats the way it goes in business!! He just got butt hurt because he could not close the sale. The clients were sent there and if he wasn't able to sell his product then thats his problem, not mine. Obviously the owner of the company isn't very smart in the business dept. Also he was rude which is to be expected but his girls in there are just as unfriendly. Like they have better things to do than at least acknowledge you when entering the store. So the moral of the story is this...if you are looking for tile and aren't quite sure what you are looking for do not bother going there. Go to Garcia Tile in San Leandro and see Lourdes. She is very friendly and will always greet you with a smile. The store is small but they have alot of stuff and Im sure they can get you what is needed if they dont have it. Final choice was made with help of friends as sales personnel remained less than engaged with assisting in selection. We did a total house renovation and were our own general contractor, so we came in contact with a lot of sub-contractors. Working with Siena Tile & Stone was a bright spot in the process. I spent A LOT of time at Siena tile because we had tile needs for our master bath, guest bath, fireplace and kitchen. Every single experience I have had with Siena was positive. When I began the process, I wasn't sure where to even begin with the Master Bath. Sunol helped me draw out a plan and begin the tile process. When she had to go out of town, I began to work with Thomas. Thomas helped me through each rendition of exploring various options for each room. Being able to take home samples was helpful. When we finally made our selection, Thomas helped manage the process of what to order. We had to order a few additional tiles for each room several times along the way and I could always rely on Siena to know exactly which tile I had already chosen. No matter who I talked to when I called, they would look up my record and know exactly what to do. I'm very type A but with the whole house remodel, I had to let go on some things, and when it came to working with Siena, I felt okay letting go a little and trusting that they were on top of it. They always were. Nick was always super helpful and pleasant. He always has a smile on his face and makes you feel welcome. And he was always welcoming to my pup, Kora. That always scores points! I also worked with Russell and Sam who were helpful, too. You can't go wrong no matter who you work with at Siena. Highly recommend. Thank you VERY much Nick and Thomas!!
