Tried to find Corporate Email to recognize an employee, but no luck so I will post here hoping someone at Corp sees this. I went to find a gasket for my new gas water heater for the inlet/outlet copper hoses that are sweated in place (not want to do that again). The copper hoses are fine, the washers after 15 years are worn and need replacing. I looked all over the store but could not find any these specific heat resistant gaskets for those tubes/pipes . Pete (District Manager no less) was there looking like a regular employee and asked me if I needed help as most of the Home Depot staff do with me. Pete was able to get the two (heat resistant) washers for me (since there are no replacement parts gaskets for this copper tubing to be found) in a matter of minutes. What a life saver Pete was and it was not until later did I find out he was the District Manager, just figured he was a regular Home Depot staff. It was not until I said I wanted to get him recognized for quickly finding a solution to my problem that he introduced himself with title. I was impressed and tremendously delighted at his kind, customer focused, efficient problem solving skills. On a previous visit the other day, two staff employees were unable to solve my gasket issue maybe because they do not have the authority to do what Pete did for me. Either way, I sure hope this message makes it to Corporate so Pete can be recognized for his excellent customer facing skills and attention! Thanks Pete! read more

I made an appointment for 12:45pm. I arrive 10 minutes early. I wait patiently until 12:45 which is my appointment time but clerk is helping someone else. He proceeds to ask me if he can help me-while he's helping another customer. I say I have an appointment at 12:45pm today. This guy says I don't know why they scheduled you during my lunchtime. I said well I did make an appointment. Here it is 1pm and still no help. I do have to go back to work. This is my lunchtime. He then asked me do I have a general question. I told him if I had a general question I would've asked that on the phone. I am Trying to get flooring done for my entire house. Guess I'll go try Lowe's. Unfortunately I did not have a positive experience. I brought my mom here to make duplicate house keys. When we walked in, we were looking around and I asked an employee if they had a Minute Key. He took us to the other key machine, which is not self-service. My mom asked the price and he told us $4, so she said okay. He made the copies and when we went to check out, the keys were $7 each. We found out he used other keys instead of plain keys. He did not ask us if it was okay, nor did he ask us to choose which keys we wanted. Just to be clear, we wanted the plain keys (that he told us were $4), but since we were forced to use $7 keys, the least he could have done was let us choose from the wide selection of $7 keys...After we checked out, we saw the Minute Key machine near the exit. read more

He said he parks in handicap and displayed an employee permit. I approached a supervisor and was shrugged off. I moved to San Ramon in 1990. Raised a family. Huge shout out to Ace hardware, for their plumbing department helper Dan. I had a small bathroom sink leak, and went to Ace hardware 3 times, and encountered Dan each time. (You would never be able to do at the other big box hw store.) Well, Dan helped me navigate the leak repair effort, starting with the less costly options, and due to the age of the valve, having to choose larger replacement parts. Through all this, Dan was extremely helpful, explaining what he would do in my situation, patiently answering all my questions, and never seemed bothered in spending the time explaining things to me. I managed to fix the leak myself, and couldn't be more happy with my experience with Ace in Crow Canyon Commons. read more

I bought a Husky Tool Chest online and I went to pick it up from this homedepot and they gave me a floor display model that is covered in dust. I checked everything after i got home and found a paint chip in a corner. I am disappointed in this pick up experience but it's not worth my time to go back to return it due to its weight. read more

Need to buy a drill along with the drill bit kit. They are locked up. Scanned the barcode to have an associate come help but no one showed up and the webpage from the barcode kept completing every time i scanned it. Got the sense they were just turning it off when they got the notification. Found an associate in person who told me that she did not have the key to unlock the drill I wanted but said she would find someone. No one else ever came. Left the store unable to buy what I needed. Not my first unpleasant experience here at this particular home depot but this was by far the worst. read more

I enjoy walking through nurseries and garden centers to look at all the indoor and outdoor plants. I'm always on the hunt for a unique indoor plant or for some pretty flowers. I was impressed with the variety of houseplants available at this Home Depot. The staff seemed friendly and asked if I needed help finding anything. Asked 3 different people for help and none could be bothered to leave where they were standing and chit chatting to actually help me. I needed some help cutting a trim for my house, the first gentleman I asked for help just pointed me to the aisle I needed to look in for the trim. The second guy walked past me even though I said excuse me 4 times and just acted like he didn't hear me. The 3rd guy was to busy sweeping and told me I could just cut it myself when I said I wasn't comfortable doing that he just said sorry we don't do that for you. What happened to customer service I get it maybe you don't cut wood for every contractor who comes in but maybe help out a woman who's asking for assistance. I'll be heading to Lowe's or ACE where they actually off help to their customers. Failure of Online Product Delivery I ordered a dryer online and scheduled delivery for Friday, Nov. 10. I was given the delivery window of 3pm to 7pm. By 6:30pm I got a call stating the delivery truck broke down and I would not be receiving my dryer that day. I rescheduled the delivery for Monday, Nov. 13. I was given the same delivery window of 3pm to 7pm. Yes, that's right. On Monday, no dryer delivery and no excuse given. I contacted customer service (they're in Texas) and demanded to know, "Where's my dryer?" Customer service told me the delivery warehouse was closed, thus no way to contact the driver. I formally registered a complaint. The compliant "Escalation Team Ticket" was forwarded to the Resolution Department. Today, I called customer service to get the number of the warehouse to speak to the driver to find out, "Where's my dryer?" Customer service rules prohibit them from giving out warehouse location and contact number. I canceled my order. And now profanities (fill in blank) directed at Home Depot and Whirlpool. read more

Home Depo is used by many contractors and other professionals. The store has a wide variety of building supplies. If you "know" what you want then it is a good place to see the actual product and select what appears to be good for your needs. On the other hand, if you need to ask questions, find someone that can help un-secure product or find a bunch of misplaced inventory you may have fun. Brick and mortar stores are still trying to compete with online resellers. Home Depot is getting better at this. Home Depot now have curbside pickup and acceptable home delivery prices which is often free. Unfortunately HD, and many brick and mortar stores, are having serious issues with theft and product damage. Many products are now locked up thereby increasing your time to find someone. When possible I recommend: -- purchase your HD supplies from HD online -- use Reddit for product questions. Note: there are some online product resellers that have good telephone and sales support e.g. Build.com. Parking is like Disney "Autopia" ride. On second thought, the parking is more like those crash cars with electric connections at the top that spark a lot. You know those kind where you go around and crash into other cars. Well, that's what the parking is like at Home Depot. Except there's not really any sparking, and you're not really supposed to crash into other cars. But otherwise, it's exactly the same. Whenever I need more than a few items, I come to this location. It is a real pain in the neck to get here and parking is quite a challenge, but the prices are excellent. Today, I had a bunch of PVC fittings I needed to get. I managed to get inside the store without crashing into any other cars. On a weekday, it was not too busy. The service can be spotty. Today, I asked if they could cut a ling PVC pipe for me, but they could not accommodate me. I really miss Orchard Supply! Fortuitously, when I was looking at the PVC cutting tools, one of the packages fell open and I was able to use that tool to quickly cut the long PVC. The checkout in the garden center was pretty efficient. They had several check stands open, as well as a self-check. It looks like the self-check is pretty easy to use. Theres food there. However, other than that, pass on this place. I have spent 10's of thousands at Home Depot over the years. I mainly frequent the Livermore one. Staff know me, are very helpful and customer oriented. I come here today after being told to go to the pro-desk from another store. The entire process I'm doing nothing but bothering people apparently. Visual cues to asking me questions like I'm stupid, such as "if you went to Livermore, why would they tell you to come here?....gee I don't know, maybe because you have a product here that they don't? Store manager wasn't even close to willing to negotiate on a price match that Pleasanton HD had given multiple people the day before. I know it's individual store discretion but atleast come talk to the customer. Employee clearly didn't like my kids playing in the shopping cart either. That's fine I'm here for a product not parenting advice. At the end, of the experience, clearly not listening to my reasoning and wanting me to leave. That's fine I'll go to Ace down the street or get all my supplies from other HD's and drive by straight by this place in the future. read more

I don't know why this Home Depot has 2.5 stars. We usually find pretty good deals at this Home Depot. In the back area near the wood cutting tools, there is a pile of items that can't be sold and they are giving them away for free. We were able to get a bag of open salt that we are going to use to soften water for the soaking tub. Usually, the staff is pretty helpful for the items that they have in stock. There have been a handful of times that I came in with a specific items in mind and it not be available or the staff member has not been able to help me, but I've been here for years, and can't complain much. Note: Be careful where you park as it is really easy for your car to get random sings from the parking lot. read more

THD is a hit or miss. In my case miss most times as there are hardly anyone to help. I've purchased lots of items through Home Depot online as I know going in an asking questions I will get the run around. There was once couple of amazing associates that helped me get Halloween decor that was running out and they were kind enough to get the display one and sell it to me (of course open box/display being eligible for 10% discount). Another time I went to get paint samples, the associate there was courteous and helped me quickly providing me samples. Great service. That's the 2 Stars. Last few weeks I've been running to Home Depot to get some hardware - screws, door guide, and other things. I had to ask 4 associates to help me with some screws for the air vent register only to be waiting in the hardware isle. Finally I had ask someone who was passing by who was an associate in the paint department to help and the lady was kind enough to help even though it was not their area of expertise. It was a frustrating experience as there were 2 associate on another isle who after I patiently waited for my turn and asked for help only to be directed to the hardware section stating that there are couple of Associates there. I told them that there was nobody there to help and I came from that isle and need some guidance only to be told to go over the hardware isle and talk to the invisible associates in that isle. Frustrating I left the place and ordered what I needed from Amazon. This experience confirms that these big box store aren't customer friendly. Will give my business elsewhere as we have many home improvement projects in the future. 2 stars for the times when I got help otherwise I'd give this place a 0 or 1. This is the same experience in most Home Depot stores. On the other hand Ace Hardware customer service is amazing. Every visit when I had a question I was always helped and they helped me find the right solution for my needs. read more

I am extremely disappointed with how Home Depot San Ramon managed my project. I understand there are difficulties and mistakes, but there were 2 huge mistakes on my order, which was too much. We exchanged multiple emails and calls, and suddenly, the material was not available. I hope you and the company can learn from this situation to avoid having other customers go through the same.
