This place is gorgeous! It's the perfect location for large parties. Lots of parking and the view is very nice. The service is wonderful, all the servers were attentive and kind. The restaurant sits on top of a hill with amazing large windows to enjoy the view. We had dinner here so we were able to see the lights of the city and the rain/snow. Lighting was dim enough to be an intimate setting but still able to read the menu. The bar area was really cool! We had the Mini Chili Relleno as an appetizer and it came with this fabulous green chili dip! The rellenos were bigger than we anticipated, definitely worth the order! My husband had the fish tacos and I had the sizzling shrimp fajitas and both were really good. I would probably try something different next time. The drinks were wonderful! We splurged for dessert when we heard they had a strawberry shortcake biscuit...which is unique as most places do shortcake on a sponge cake but the biscuit is so much better!! Had the french dip. Was excellent. Their dessert menu was much to be desired and the "sundae" was sub-par. The service was spotty as well. There was a 30 minute wait so it was relatively busy but I put us at around 12-15 minutes before a waiter came to the table initially. Then from there he was pretty slow to return each time. I would go back if I was local but had driven about 30 min from Aurora to get there and there are better places nearby, but overall it was fine. I didn't have the margaritas but heard that is what they were famous for. I cannot confirm that, but the margaritas that I did see, was not impressed. read more

Reading the recent reviews and it seems like a lot of people did not have a good experience. Luckily, we were not one of those. We had an amazing dinner there. The main dining area has an incredible view that overlooks the airport nearby. We sat on the patio area. Our server was attentive and we all loved our food. This is my girlfriend's favorite place to come to. I'm slowly coming around I highly recommend making reservations (if you can) for dinner. It's impossible to get seated right away without waiting during dinner. I went there on a Friday at 5:45, and they were packed and still waited 40 minutes. Once seated, the service is great. I love the ambiance. It feels very high end and modern. I haven't found an item in the menu that blows my mind. But the food isn't horrible. They're all decent but nothing really stood out to me. Definitely need to go back to try some other items. It's a great place for GNO or dinner with friends without kids. Parking can get insane. I've been to Sierra a couple times, once during a large group event, and the other with friends who prefer table seating. I arrived early enough to get a solo bar seat (my fav). After sitting unacknowledged for a few minutes, and observing a later-arrival patron get served, I was about to bolt. Side-note: I struggle when there are multiple bartenders walking the bar aloof, yet no basic greeting. Bartender Gloria appeared and saved the day. She changed my energy w her good energy! Excellent service from that point on. I had the happy hour chips, guac, salsa and queso w a sauv blanc to start. Wanting to go lighter than a full entree, I opted for the iceberg wedge w added grilled chicken. The champagne vinaigrette was a refreshing tart, and this salad was a full meal! Upon my next visit, I will def lean toward an entree (the halibut looked great) and test the bar service again. read more

I've dined at Sierra twice. Both experiences were wonderful! The restaurant has a beautiful view and a large patio. Upon arrival both times we were kindly greeted by multiple staff without any wait time. The service was great and prompt! We ordered the shrimp fajitas, ribs, Classic Margarita, Jalapeño Margarita, and Annie Oakley Margarita. The shrimp fajitas were cooked on their wood fired grill. They are delicious and simple. My partner ordered the ribs. There wasn't a drop of food left on his plate! Classic Margarita on the rocks was simple and not too sweet. Annie Oakley is more of a dessert drink. The jalapeño margarita had a bit of a kick to it but not too much. The first time visiting, we didn't make reservations and they were able seat us right away. The second time, we did make reservations. We arrived about 20 minutes early and they again were able to seat us right away. I will definitely be going back! read more

Had dinner here in January, our first time eating here. The reason for 4 stars...We had a reservation but waited 30 minutes before we were seated and the hostess, who I am sure was overwhelmed with the number of walk-ins and people with reservations waiting in the reception area came across a little salty. Otherwise, it would have been an enthusiastic five stars. The restaurant is big, beautiful and was bustling with activity, which I love. The service was outstanding. While we waited we decided to have a margarita. The male bartender was absolutely gracious, fun and made a mean margarita. Once seated, our wait staff was amazing, offering suggestions, checking in often and was incredibly helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, we shared the mini chile renellos and fajitas, 10 out of 10 and was plenty of food for 2 adults. Overall, a good experience, just need to get the reservation wait time sorted, 30 minutes wait with a reservation is just not acceptable. read more

We celebrated our 34th anniversary here; had made a reservation at sister restaurant La Loma and noticed at the last minute that the wait was not long on a Saturday evening, so pivoted to Sierra, which we'd always wanted to try. The music, atmosphere and views were great. Our server was Kira, who's also a bartender, and she was fantastic! So warm, friendly, attentive, and knew a lot about Sierra, La Loma and the upcoming Hummingbird. My frozen margarita was awesome, as were our chile rellenos dinners (the diced jalapeño topping was !). Host told us to have a seat at the bar if we want and he would come get us. 7:10 rolls around and we watched no less than 5 other groups of 2 that walked in after us get seated. First and last time dining here. We had a noon reservation. We ended up in a bar booth for comfort. We do not drink alcohol at noon due to driving I25 for 50 miles.The waiter was not very informative after we declined an alcholic drink. We went with ice tea and cokes. We had one soup and two lunch sandwiches. I asked for a side salad, instead of a mountain of mediocre fries as a side. Never received and the waiter NEVER checked back on us. The sandwiches were delicious just on the small side, rolls and meat. No dessert since waiter never appeared again. The bill came, with tax and tip we spent over $100.00 for not great wait service and tasty but small soup and 2 sandwiches.The amount of fries given were absurd for 3 women. Ridiculously overpriced! Two salads (one with added grilled chicken and one e with added shrimp -5 shrimp), total bill with tip was $88! I had requested bread or crackers, server said all they could do was some grilled garlic bread. I said great please bring some. Well, the bread arrives with the check so I said no thanks, I am done with the salad. The salads were ok but definitely not worth the price and the service was average. This restaurant has gone dramatically downhill and extremely overpriced for the quality. Last week, we picked up a take out order. They served raw bacon that was part of the wedge salad. The bacon was not cooked, it was completely raw. When I called to explain and brought the raw bacon back, for cooked bacon. There was no apology, no discount on your next order, nothing offered other than a low grade "Annoyance". We will never return, you should be ashamed. ***To the manager of Sierra, you may not be aware but serving raw bacon to a customer, could land that customer in the hospital if ingested. "Eating undercooked or raw pork products can also lead to serious illness from parasites, including: Tapeworms: These parasitic worms live in the intestine and cause abdominal pain, weight loss and blockages in the intestines" read more

This is such a cute place. The ambiance is everything. Perfect place for a date night. They have a nice view and a huge patio for the summer weather. I was annoyed that dogs are not allowed. But other customers told me they have seen dogs, and not service dogs - all the time on the patio. Came for a quick bite and it was happy hour. We so tried everything they offered on the happy hour menu but the chips and salsa and was disappointing that the tacos and slider had the same exact topping. In my opinion they both lack seasoning and flavor. The petite rellenos was my favorite. But you have to eat it right away before it cools down. When it's cold- it's just not the same. The reason why these are my favorite is because of their green chili - it is my favorite. It's so good and I would smother that on everything! It completes the meal. The service is great! But they do need to tell you that happy hour is only in the bar area and ask if we would like happy hour or not. read more
