I have been attending classes, on and off, since july 2019. I'm an amateur that is taking boxing…read moreclasses just to stay in shape. Jalel, boxing instructor, has always made me feel welcome, I've never felt singled out or ashamed of missing weeks, sometimes months, at a time. Whether you are a professional or just trying to get in shape, Jalel will always make sure you get some of his time and knowledge that fits your level. The class attendees themselves have always been smiling and full of life, again reinforcing the welcoming feeling, much like the rest of the team that works there. Which I think is HUGE for those with self confidence, or weight issues. It's an odd feeling for someone that has those issues. You are your worst enemy, you feel bad in your own skin when you walk into ANY gym. Yet at Ultimate Boxing, you feel like they see through the outside and look at you as a peer. Always respecting. Always kind. Always there to help you on your path. I would even go as far as recommending them as a form of mental therapy for that reason alone! Thank you again for being open, warm, tolerant and just simply a fun location for all ages.

Update: this is not an ethical business. This gym tricked my husband into signing a contract. He…read morewas lied to by Mike the owner and Heather the manager. My husband went to this gym with a Groupon in Spring 2025, a contract was proposed and my husband declined entering a contract. My husband does not do contracts with gyms. My husband proposed a month-to-month contract to Heather and Mike. Heather asked Mike if that was okay, and Mike said that it was. Heather then provided my husband with a document and explained it was to accept gym rules and waive liability, which he signed. My husband needed to cancel his membership in December 2025 and requested that through the billing department email which is just Heather. Since the payments didn't stop, he attempted to resume going to this gym two or three months later, but this was during the period when this gym had no physical operation. He showed up two or three times at the new address and didn't find any gym there. This was a very distressing and confusing situation for him. I tried contacting the billing department, but there is no billing department, it is just an email address and they don't take calls. My husband had been trying to get ahold of the "billing department" as well with no luck. I explained the whole story about what happened in an email to the "billing department." Heather said that she would cancel the contract but that this would just go to collections. In another email, Mike told my husband to "tell your wife to f*** off." Today, we received that bill from collections. My husband never understood he was signing an annual contract and was explicitly told by Mike that he could do a month-to-month arrangement, and Heather lied to him about what he was signing. After all this happened, I looked back in time at Yelp reviews and found that this business has been doing shady and dishonest behavior like this for at least a decade.

You can't find a better martial arts school in Utah. Whether you are an adult, a kid, a black belt…read moreor a beginner, Denda will make you feel at home. Both my son and myself attend classes twice a week and it's something we look forward to all the time. Why is Denda superior? First of all, it's not a chain or a corporation, but a family-owned business. And as such, they also give back to their community, whether through anti-bullying presentations at local schools, self-defense lessons for at-risk youth or mutual support of small businesses in the area. Their commitment to better the community is truly admirable. Denda also has an after-school program that includes transportation, as well as a summer camp and a day camp when most schools are out. As a working parent, it's something invaluable, especially since their camps and martial arts lessons are affordable, compared to some other schools. Denda's primary focus is taekwondo, but the instructions incorporate elements of other martial arts such as kickboxing or Muay Thai. They teach traditional forms, sparring, self-defense, grappling, weapons (bo staff, nunchucks, sword, eskrima) and the philosophical component of the arts. If you ever thought of exploring martial arts, Master Dutson and Mrs Dutson will ensure you'll have a great experience regardless of your age, fitness level and skill. We love Denda.
