Unfortunately the 2025 season took a dive in the bar. -New…read morephone only ordering, problematic for us with one patron being low vision and one with a dead phone -Food was barely warm -Season ticket holders don't get a discount anymore -had to ask for waters -less food options than previous years -plating is off putting since huge plates with no sides (sides ordered separate and delivered separate **service staff are lovely as always and.. Assuming staff will see less tipping since this is a food running and bussing bar vs full service Less cafeteria options to choose from too, will be bringing more of our own food since indoor options are so limited on storm days

This used to be our favorite place to eat when at the old Sugar Bowl lodge (although the Poke Bowl…read moreat the Judah Lodge is really nice as well, praying they didn't mess with the formula there). But the quality of the food compared to prior years has definitely dropped off. They changed up the paninis/grilled sandwiches which used to always be winners. Bread was stale, one side was overly toasted, the other soggy and disintegrating like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. Fries here used to delectable. Now? Stale, either over or under seasoned depending on the fry, and tasted like they had been cooked an hour ago. Hopefully still great for watching games (note to Bay Area kids, this is a "Kings Bar"). Sadly, we may scrap convenience when staying at the hotel and head over to Donner just up the road for aprés ski. Shame, such a difference from prior years where we ate here once a week through the winter season. I will say, the service was as friendly and accommodating as ever, but not much they can do about the kitchen/menu.
