Best Mexican restaurant in Alabama. Their steaks are phenomenal! The Queso is the best.

Ok, so this is a Mexican restaurant, but you must try the ribeye or hamburger steak. You can choose to have either on a sizzling plate, which I recommend. The baked potatoes are also really good. Sometimes they have a roasted tomato salsa that is awesome. You have to ask for it, and it's not always available. Highly recommend you give Sierra's a try if you haven't already!! read more

Friday, 8/28/20. First time eating here. The staff was great. The food.....AWESOME!!! We had the "Sierra Bowl" . My wife had the shrimp and I had the steak. It was sooooo good that we went back on Saturday for...the Sierra Bowls, again. read more

Food here ok, kind of salty. But my big gripe is their billing policy. If you want to use a credit card they charge you an additional 4%! When asked about this the cashier pointed to a small sign that described my choice of credit card choice, for 4%, or cash discount. I asked what is the cash "discount"? There is none, it's the actual check amount! Really? I've heard of cash discounts if paying cash, but this is no discount! She then said it's part of the billing system, the restaurant doesn't get it. No business I know is paying 4% for credit card services. And I have to pay 4% on the sales tax and tip too! You will not be disappointed by anything on the menu. The staff and the owners treat you as family. A local hometown favorite. Lunch menu is great but I recommend dining here for your evening meal to enjoy the full experience. read more

Great American Mexican food and a good selection. The food is seasoned well and good portions. The waitstaff is very attentive and respectful. I got shrimp instead of Chicken but they fixed it very promptly. I would definitely suggest this place for a quick meal !! read more

Everything I've tried at this place has been good. The tamale is great as most mainstream Mexican restaurants don't offer it. Any type of salad is good here and the ranch taste homemade. I've eaten the ribs and steak her and they are great. I usually get the burrito enchilada and tamale dinner combination. The salsa and chips are really good here as well. read more

Was pleasantly surprised. As we drove up we were a little concerned since it was in a dark corner of a shopping strip. From the moment we entered the customer service was outstanding! Everyone was very friendly & was very prompt with all food and beverages. They did not skimp on the food either. Food was delicious. The only negative comment I would make would be that the salsa was not the greatest however everything else was so wonderful we would definitely return. Well done! read more

Traveling thru Arab and decided to stop and eat Mexican. Picked this restaurant of the two Mexican restaurants because it had a good Yelp rating. Service was good and the warm chips with salsa was almost immediately on the table. It was interesting that they brought my wife's meal probably 5 minutes before they brought mine to the table. My California burrito was huge but not sure how much was chicken. Lots of rice and refried beans. Flavor was okay but nothing special. I am used to grilled chicken that has a good grilled flavor. The food is great and the servers are very attentive. This makes for a pleasant dining experience. Love their grilled pork chops. They are thick cut, juicy and delicious! The owner goes out of his way to ensure you are happy. He has said many times to us that if you don't like it, you don't pay for it. Well, we have never gotten anything there that we didn't like! It's also a good place to take a group. We celebrated a birthday party there a while back, and they were very nice about it, even helping us to serve the birthday cake. This is a "dry" Mexican restaurant in a "wet" town. No alcoholic beverages are served. The beef taco and burrito my wife ordered were dry and unappetizing. I ordered a ribeye steak which was good but a bit fatty and definitely overpriced at $15.50. I also ordered a guacamole salad but was served a dinner salad instead, which consisted mainly of lettuce with a couple of cucumber and tomato slices. Since most people want a margarita or other alcoholic beverage with their lunch or dinner, I cannot recommend this restaurant. I enquired on the telephone about their getting a license to serve alcohol and they replied that they had no plans to do so. read more

The food there is disgusting and poorly prepared. The customer service is slow and unfriendly. Zero stars. I'll never eat there again. Would not recommend. My chicken was supposed to be seasoned and grilled but it was boiled and bland. My husband asked for coke and was given Pepsi without being told. The waitress was very inattentive and inexperienced. My husband and I eat here at least twice a month. After eating here, we do not want any other Mexican reataurant food. This is the BEST there is. The buffet is outstanding. The meat is so tender, it falls off the bone. The mashed potatoes are the best I have ever eaten anywhere. I have never ate anything that was bad at this restaurant. The salad bar is out of this world. Fresh, crisp, organic lettuces. I would reccomend this restaurant to anyone. Great hospitality here also. read more
