I was hesitant to complain about them (I didn't want them to come after me), but seeing that I'm not the only one who feels that the employees at SIG don't give a crap about you. I have been completely disappointed with the service here for quite sometime. Over a year ago, I would see "upcoming" properties and to contact whomever was listed. At that time, the woman was short with me and said "it's not ready." I wanted to put my name on a list and she prompted me to call back when it was ready. Why list it then? And why ask me to do all of the work??? Fast forward to a year later, I found yet another property that I was interested in. I submitted the application and paid the fee for both my husband and myself. After several phone calls to them, we found out the owner did not chose us. This was not the issue. There was another property coming up in the area and I asked if we could see it. I was told there were tenant issues and they couldn't show it. I called again, same story. I pleaded for a phone call when it was ready. Last night, I saw the property listed on MLS through another broker I'm working with. These people do not care about customer service. I guess they feel that once they have your application money the rest of the work is up to you. They could not care less about the people who come to them in search of a home. read more

Interesting business model here. I requested to review a copy of my lease before I sign, and property manager Stephanie became hysterical. I very seldom deal with nasty people like this, so needless to say I was caught off guard! She began to stammer, and ramble about how she wasn't going to go "all the way to" where the apartment was to finish the deal? This is the danger in hiring lazy, unhappy people to work for you. They literally let money walk right out of the door. The one positive was that my application was processed immediately thanks to the friendly office staff. Anyway, Stephanie was an unpleasant, aggressive woman and I would hate to see how she interacts with tenants if she cannot even play nice to get someone to sign. #SIGPM never refunded our security deposit even after we mailed and emailed 3 demands for full security deposit refund. They did not do it and now we filed a complaint with the BBB. I have been a tenant at 1702 Victory Blvd in Burbank since 2003 - Sig Property Management bought the building a little over a year 1/2 now. Just recently Angelica Idiaquez who is the property supervisor for SIG offered a complete upgrade of my kitchen and bathroom! When I received the email from Angelica I almost fell out of my chair. I was in complete shock. Was this really happening to me?? In the email she states that they will give me a complete upgrade of my kitchen and bathroom. This consisted of new flooring, new tiles, new kitchen countertops, a brand new stove and microwave, and finally paint in the kitchen. The bathroom would get new flooring, new tiles in the tub area, new bathroom vanity and sink as well as complete reglaze of bathtub too. I couldn't believe it! I have been dealing with plumbing issues and a bad kitchen sink and bathroom for several years now. The tile on my bathroom floor was mixed and matched and ugly. It didn't look cute. Angelica not only was able to knock out the whole renovation process within 2 1/2 weeks she also stayed in complete communication with me every single day informing me of the whole process and what the next steps would be. Everything went so smoothly. If you have ever worked in the contracting world you know there can be a lot of setbacks with scheduling and timing. It was amazing that she was able to coordinate, schedule and get everything done in such a short time. She knew I was going to start working from home in November so she was able to get everything done before that happened. WOW!! I am a very happy tenant and my place looks amazing. SIG is great! I rented a property from SIG for a year, and I have to say that Stephanie is great! Sometimes their staff that answers the phone seemed a little inept, but as soon as Stephanie would get my messages she always handled EVERY issue I had. Whenever I needed maintenance done, she always got it done within a 24hour turnaround, and they always came at the time they said. Also, I ought to note that when I moved in the house was disgusting. There was another potential renter who would pay more, so because of the landlord's decision, I had to take it as is. BUT, that being said, the few things that actually needed fixed Stephanie took care of quickly, and when I moved out I was NOT charged cleaning. (I wanted to point that out because another review said they were charged for cleaning when the house wasn't clean when they moved in. Perhaps they did not correctly document it on their move-in paperwork, and that is their fault. Any time you move in somewhere, always document EVERYTHING and take pictures!) Anyhow, Stephanie was great, and from what I can tell, the only issues that could have arose or took longer was because the owner didn't want to pay for things. They are just a MANAGEMENT company, ie a middle-man between the renter and the owner. If the owner is cheap, and refuses to pay to fix things, that isn't their job to do! So basically, Stephanie was awesome and I would definitely rent from them again if I were to move back to the area!!! read more

I have been interacting with SIG for about a year and a half now and have to update their rating from 4 stars to five. Despite a few hiccups at the outset, they have truly been outstanding on every level. For instance this morning about 9AM I reported a ceiling fan that would not turn off, and it was fixed by 2PM. Some things have taken much longer but all in all SIG has been extremely professional. Like I said in my earlier review, if you are responsible with your responsibilities according to your lease, they will be responsible for their end. No one is perfect - part of being human - but I have consistently seen in SIG a desire to be everything a property management company should be. read more

My fiance and I just moved into one of their properties a few weeks ago and we have been very happy with the process. Our previous apartment flooded so we needed to move quickly. Debbie - the on site manager - showed us the apartment on a Saturday. We applied online on Sunday. They reviewed our application on Monday and same-day we received a phone call that we had been approved! We went into their office on Tuesday (it was very nice!) to sign the lease and Misty and Liz were very helpful and professional. They made sure to have the apartment cleaned again before we moved in (because of dust/dirt from some remodeling) and we moved into a nice, clean apartment that Friday - less than a week between application and move-in! Debbie is also available after normal "work hours" because she lives on site so she was available to let us in later. Every issue we have encountered (missing nob on stove, hole in screen, etc), Misty has gotten back to us right away and been so helpful! I sent her a few small issues and she submitted a request to their maintenance right away. (We are still waiting on the maintenance guy to come but it's only been about a week and Debbie on site followed up with me and said she would check in to make sure it gets done). I love SIG's online system for paying rent and submitting maintenance requests. SO much easier than trying to make phone calls or drop off checks around our busy schedules. This is sort of irrelevant to the property management, but also wanted to throw in here that the neighbors are great! read more

I have been a longtime tenant of a building in Burbank SIG purchased a few years ago. Though an older building well kept by the original landlord, SIG improved things very quickly both outside the building itself (paint, roof, and communal portions of the property) and inside every unit (hardwood floors in living spaces; kitchen upgraded with contemporary tile floors, granite countertops, cabinets major appliances; bathrooms handled the same way... all top-notch remodeling). I can highly recommend SIG properties because I know they care, they listen to tenants, and they are responsive to tenant needs with very quick turnaround on certain needed repairs or general issues). They maintain regular market and location pricing, and are fair with tenants. I've also had the pleasure to work for the company as their Onsite Manager for the building in which I lived. The same care they put into tenant needs carries over to the care with which they treat their employees. They were able to accommodate me and my schedule as the onsite manager, and provided me with any collateral needed pertaining to the management of the property. Again... very responsive and adaptive. I was happy as both a tenant and employee, but most of all loved the building I lived in and was glad they cared just as much. read more

So let's be honest, no one really cares about property managment. At least I didn't, i thought it was just the people you send a check to. Buuuutttt!!! You should actually care. I had no idea how good we had it until I realized how easy they made it to get stuff fixed in our apt. We were w/ sig for almost 8 yrs. The 1st time I noticed something wrong w/ the stove we had a new one within the week. There was always someone available to answer our questions. For us a major benefit of SIG was during one of the summers when there was multiple "fires" going on. Our AC wasn't working, my husband who served in Iraq was having major flashbacks of not only 110°+ summer days but helicopters flying over all day & night (trying to put out the fires). Within 1 day we had a new AC. That alone made a major difference. Ive heard horror stories of Apts being horrible at fixing things. I couldn't imagine going through that w/o AC (let alone my husband). Just a few things they were great at doing (there's more). Lastly when we finally moved out they made it too easy to give our notice & got back our full deposit. Not trying to rip you off for deposit or anything. Hannah walked me through the whole process during early March 20' (just as covid was unfolding). Thats the type of service that can be expected from excellent property management. I have been a tenant in one of the properties managed by SIG Property Management and I have nothing but good comments. Yes, things may not go my way all the time, but I respect the rules of the property. I am very happy in this location in Tujunga, CA. Every time I have a request, they always reply and take care of it in a timely fashion, again it cannot be when I say it but it is done and scheduled accordingly. Sometimes I have to wait few days which it's okey, but others the response is faster than light. I had to deal with water leaking under the bathroom sink (not my fault) two nights ago. I noticed it around 2 am, so I cleaned the mess and set up a container so the water stopped running on the bathroom floor, send an email to Angelica, the supervisor of this property and by 7:15 am the plumber was calling me to let me know that he'll be here as soon as he finished in the other job. He came over, very promptly, courteous and polite and fixed it right away. Where do I begin? Bare with me readers. I saw my unit for lease back in October '16. Liked the location and the cozy small unit on Montrose. I got approved and when I went in the office to sign the contract for Nov '16, I didn't even get to review the it because Monique was in a hurry to leave the office. I barely started moving in bit by bit by mid December and wasn't settled in until January because I went on vacation. I received my gas bill in January for $60 something dollars. Never had I cooked or used any gas. I called to figure out what was going on and Jeff, at that time was the property manager of the property, said "it's stated in your contract that you're paying 'some' of the utility for your upstairs neighbor." I told him that I did not even have a chance to read the contract. I asked him for a written calculation, which none was ever given. Neglection after neglection. The first time I showered and used the kitchen sink to wash dishes, I was shocked how I didn't have hot water pressure and the tub in the shower wasn't draining well. Again, emailed nicely asking for someone to be sent out to see the property. And yet again neglected. I was told that it was all "my opinion" because for them, a needle size stream of hot water in the kitchen sink is sufficient to wash dishes and I don't neer hot water in the bathroom to wash hands a d 5-10 minutes after in the shower there was no hot water. The fact that I had water floating in the tub and the shower drain being clogged was not an issue for them. Also, my electrical sockets were upside down and not even holding any plugs in. Emails and phone calls to Jeff had been useless. By March '17 I took matters in my own hand and contacted the city of Glendale. Someone came by and saw the place and gave SIG 30 days to repair all the required repairs. On the 30th day after the notice was given to SIG, I received a letter posted on my door from SIG notifying me that someone will be coming to see the unit for "any plumbing/electrical repairs needed" within the next couple days. Finally by mid June '17, some critical repairs were completed. Throughout this entire hectic uncomfortable time, I had rats in the house. Took them about a month to find someone to put traps and catch the darn things. Later I found cockroaches too. And the so called dishwasher that was part of the appliances in the unit didn't work. Tried using it a couple times and all my plates and cups had spots and were left oily. I guess the water pressure was the reason for it and it also leaked, told Jeff about that too and never got resolved so didn't bother using it after that. Any email I sent to Jeff/calls made were left unanswered. Never got anything resolved. During the timeframe of not having the critical repairs completed, I slipped and fell and injured my elbow and hit my head on the wall. Was taken to urgent care and thank God everything was ok. One day Jeff was at the unit placing a notification for an upcoming repair date, I told him and it seemed to have worried him and he sent out a plumber to unclog the shower by the evening of that same day. A few weeks later I receive a statement to pay for the clog. I contacted Jeff via email (which I still have documented) and he spoke with his supervisor and they waived the fee of $104. He informed me that the clog was my fault. I'm sorry when I notified you of the clog and the water pressure it was all "my opinion." Things didn't get resolved until I contacted the city. Beginning of July I receive a letter of my new property manager Tiffany. A week later I get an electronic email of upcoming months rent for an additional $104. I contacted SIG via email, via phone call and still 3 weeks later and no response. I spoke with someone at SIG and made sure she was aware that I have been trying to contact Tiffany. The receptionist told me to call back again if I dont hear anything. Which took me having to contact them a few more times until I got a hold of Tiffany. She said it was an error. By end of August I get a 60 day notification of a retaliatory $300 rent increase starting Nov '17. I contacted Tiffany via email as to why the drastic increase and she said that the owner is increasing the rent for all 3 tenants. That statement was false because the front tenants never received one. This left me no choice but to give my 30 day notice and I had to look for a place. Tiffany mentioned I need to aint the until before I leave or else portion of my security deposit will be kept. Never have I heard this nonsense before. Neither were there any wear and tears in the unit nor is it mandated by law that the tenant will have their security deposit kept because of not painting the unit before leaving. I'm extremely unhappy with the unprofessional customer service I've experienced with SIG. I've never experienced this type of behavior from any property management team or landlord. I have been living at my home for almost 7 years. I was very unhappy. My property was in shambles. My bathroom looked like an unsolved crime scene. My fence was falling apart. Hazardous outlets to name a few. S.I.G took it over almost 3 years ago and listened to my situation. My house was repainted on the outside and even fixed a wall AND painted it for me. My bathroom no longer belonged on the set of CSI and I was able to pick my tile color out. New linoleum in the bathroom and kitchen. They compromised on a side fence and I was ecstatic. Stephanie Brown made that happen. She is a voice and has a presence. Her energy is fast but she is efficient. She likes to get things done and is open to suggestions. She is a strong woman. I seriously have no idea how this place has good reviews. We have been living at one of their properties for a year now and when issues arise everything is at their convenience. Emails don't get answered until weeks later after multiple emails are sent. The people they hire to do maintenance are always unfriendly, unprofessional and also do things at their convenience. I'm actually writing this in the hopes that one of my issues will get resolved if they read this, seeing as my email hasn't been answered. The house we are renting from them is poorly wired and we have had a computer and a playstation 4 die because of this issue. Well, I have to say that they used to be fast at repairing maintenance issues and concerned with hazards, then they switched my supervisor to Meagan , she did absolutely nothing about the dry fire hazard by the back door and i had to send at least two requests to fix issues to the unit. This happened more than once.What the heck? Owners hiring inadequate children to do an adult job. This is what's wrong with the world today! Stephanie was the previous supervisor. The minute I sent a maintenance request, she called me to arrange for plumbers etc.. to fix the issues.
