Always knowledgable, professional, helpful, fair -- I can't say enough about SH&A. They had replaced our HVAC system last summer, and now in Summer, the A/C was not working. So we replaced the thermostat, (which they had kindly advised us to do last Spring but we kept putting it off), but still the A/C wasn't working. Called them, they arrived on time, asked me questions and thoroughly checked everything out. It turns out the HVAC system is doing great -- but they found an indoor leak (*not* caused by the HVAC system) that is getting water on the water-detector "puck" next to the furnace. That puck -- which SH&A put there for me last summer -- is doing it's job by shutting all HVAC things down / alerting me that something is wrong. They restarted the system, advised me on what to ask for when I talk with the contractors (to fix the leak) and showed me photos of the problem. I need to add that John and his colleague both spent time checking out the indoor and outdoor parts of the system. They didn't charge me anything -- likely because of a warranty period from the HVAC install. Honestly, I'm so thankful for a company that doesn't try to upsell me, or use fear tactics to make me buy something extra or take advantage of my lack of knowledge (though I'm learning as I go). SH&A keep it professional -- they focus on the problem and not how to up their profits for the day. They are the gold standard of everything HVAC. After notifying Signature Heating and Air that the thermostat was older and was not responding, they promptly set up a time to send a technician to my home. First, a special kudos to Jonathan. He checked every part of the furnace, including the wiring that he had to work with before he installed and set up the new thermostat. BUYER BEWARE!! If you are looking for a new furnace that has been sitting in a warehouse for 6 years...this is the place for you!! When it's discovered that the "new" furnace is 6 years old, don't expect a resolution of any kind but do expect a defensive manager. The analogy I was given " if you buy a 2017 car sitting on a lot for 6 years, and has zero miles, it's still new." Seriously? Even if the car has zero miles, it's not new in 2023. Worse experience I have had with a business. I wasn't even calling to get a money back for the customer but needed clarification if this is normal practice and his answer was, the customer should know and continued to just talk without allowing me to speak. I literally had to talk over him hoping he would shut up. Manufacturing date is not on any receipt from them so how is the customer supposed to know? They should disclose this sort of thing. Very sad and all I can say is, BUYER BEWARE. If you have used them for new equipment, I suggest looking at your serial number and get the manufacturing date. The manager said "he gets calls like this all the time and doesn't care. It's not their problem." Obviously this is normal for them. I have contacted other HVAC companies and they have all said "6 years old is excessive". I'm truly surprised at their positive reviews. read more

The installation went smoothly and an explanation of how the humidifier worked as well as answered questions professionally and with knowledgeable acumen that left me very impressed with the lead technician. Heating system needed a blower motor replacement. They were charging $488 for a new blower motor. I pulled up the same one online and told the tech that the most expensive one I found of that same brand/model was $200. He stated that they charge more for parts due to the convenience of having the part on hand, which is fine. So he added $288 as a convenience cost for having the part on hand. I own 11 rentals in the Denver-Metro area and I will only use Signature Heating & Air. They are honest, trustworthy, and never try to up-sell something you don't need. In early January 2017, during sub-zero temperatures, I had a heater go down at one of my rentals and I needed immediate service. My previous HVAC independent contractor retired and closed shop in December, so I hit Google and got what I thought was a local independent. The tech showed and after 5 minutes told me that my heater was shot and they could start installing a new one for only $6000. I paid their service fee and asked them to leave. Next I found Steve Major at Signature. Over the phone Steve had me read the code off of the board and we determined what the issue was. He had a tech onsite with the correct part and heater repaired less than 2 hours. Total bill was under $200. Since then, Steve and team have done all of the repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections on all of my properties and home. We rent a property in Aurora with an ancient heater installed. It's not quite my age, but close. We knew that it wasn't going to survive much longer, but we also didn't know that Denver was going to get a blizzard yesterday. Funny how things coincide, isn't it. When all the carbon monoxide alarms were going off, we called the property manager and Xcel. Side note: in the blizzard, with 100k+ houses without power, Xcel was still onsite in under an hour, when I was expecting a day or so, so hats off to Xcel. My property manager (Shari at Star and Stripes, look em up.) called Signature and they were out the next day. OK to be fair, they had been in communication prior to the storm about replacing the furnace and yes, they were planning on coming out Monday, but when the furnace died, they were out the net day. They kept in contact with me in advance, let me know what they were going to do, and best of all, got our house heated in three hours. They took care to keep from getting snow, mud and rust everywhere. They did the install, tested it out, showed me what I needed to know to maintain it. I can't speak to the price of the equipment or service. I'm sure it'll be reflected in the next lease, but I really appreciated the work they did, and the respect and professionalism they showed. read more

A few years ago we woke up to below zero temps and no furnace heat. I immediately tried to relight the pilot light. Nothing. Jumped on the Internet looking for help. Heating companies were not answering their phones, or too busy to do so. I finally reached Steve Majors who was driving to a service call. He sent me back to the basement and talked me through a relighting of the pilot. I liked him, thanked him and told him I would call for a inspection. Never did. It happened again a couple years later, bitter cold; no heat, and one more time Steve took the call and helped me get the furnace going. He was always eager and friendly. That summer the AC was not doing well and I called Steve. Who else deserved my business? We got everything new! Great experience. Update: the invoice for the services rendered was $500.00 and not as I originally stated. Typo? The internet cost of the board they replaced was in the range of $50 - 139.00 and the markup I referred to in my review was based on the higher internet price and not the exorbitant "Carrier factory list price" of $349. Exact same board from internet sources. Does your service provider have the responsibility to tell you that a board could be procured from other sources for less money especially when the price variance is so great? Or are there other reasons? Finally, the technician who diagnosed the furnace problem stated "there is a burnt resistor on the board". This is the reason given on the invoice and on the telephone. I based my purchase decision on this faulty diagnosis. This diagnosis was INCORRECT as I have the board and tested it as I have the equipment and knowledge to do so and there is no burnt resistor on the board. I can present that board for inspection. Pictures of the board are also available. That "burnt resistor" statement by the technician was WRONG and started this issue. read more

I called early on a Friday after Xcel came out and confirmed a gas leak at my furnace. They said that they could send someone out before noon which was great! Especially since we couldnt use our heat until it was repaired. A gentleman arrived at 10:45 or so and confirmed that it needed a new pilot. He had the part and began work. He was super friendly and worked quickly. I believe he was in and out in less than an hour. I then left for the day, returned 5 hours later and smelled gas again. I called Signature but there was no answer, I believe it was after business hours. I called Xcel to come out and do a check again. They confirmed the leak right away and showed me the gas level on their wand, registering at 2.7. The representative explained that when the repair was made, the valve that allows gas to pass through had not been tightened all of the way. Fortunately he was able to tighten it for me, free of charge. I wish that the worker with Signature had walked through what he had done with me or confirmed that the presence of gas had been eliminated. Gas leaks are pretty scary especially when you have pets at home all day. read more

I have used Signature Heating and Air 3 times in the past: 1. To fix my furnace in the middle of the winter. They stayed late into the night until the job was done and my furnace was running. 2. To replace the furnace mentioned previously when I sold my last house (It was almost 30 years old). 3. To add a 2 ton central air conditioning unit to my current home. On each of these occasions they completed the work for the agreed price and showed up exactly when they said they would. Wow! I honestly for the life of me can't recall the last time I have been so impressed with any service, contractor or not. Our AC stopped working last night and I called this morning. The voicemail was full but after an hour I decided to call back and get the text number to text my service request. The mailbox wasn't full. I left a message about 9:45 and within about 15 minutes, Steve called me back and told me he could make it to my place around 11:00 to 12:00. (So make sure if the voicemail box is full to call back!) I have worked with signature heating and air for about 10 years now. They are very good at scheduling appointments quickly, and for emergency situations Coming out promptly as well. We used them at both my house and my mothers house. They are very honest, and very in tune to their customers. When my mother used to have problems With her furnace, often times user air because she did not know how to use the thermostat, Steve would come out and explain it to her and replace any parts that were needed. It was always very affordable. They always solve my problem quickly, are very honest in their diagnosis and pricing, and super friendly and easy to work with! I like them because they are customer oriented, and do not have a big business attitude. It was easy to schedule an appointment with Lisa and Johnny (tech) was friendly, knowledgeable and made his visit quite enjoyable. I like that they offer veterans as well as senior discounts although their service fees are already reasonable. In addition, they were running a seasonal discount so I was able to realize great service at a discounted price. Johnny recommended a regular system inspection, he found my AC compressor refrigerant to be 1.5 pounds low so he refilled it; seems even colder now. Kent from Signature fixed my furnace on a holiday weekend. Arrived earlier than forecast. I had called about six firms. Signature was one of the only ones with availability and they were also the fastest to respond to my call. Took Kent only 15 min but solved a problem I likely wouldn't have figured out... resetting the over-temp sensor. He could have easily charged me more to remove & replace the part but it wasn't necessary and saved money.
