Stopped in on accident since the holiday inn express next door was sold out.  Lucked out, this little motel was just renovated with a brand I had never heard of before.  Walked to the casino for a concert.  The road was a little dark between the 2 places but it was a pretty short walk.  Would definitely come back here again.

But the overall stay felt like something was lacking. When I asked to check out and a print out, they weren't able to. For late check out they charge per hour. Even as a Hilton Honors member. Felt like i was put on the back burner for sure. 4/5 Room Room size is spacious with a king bed. And pull out couch. However there was no remote for the TV, weird. The mattress felt a bit old and worn out. 3/5 Breakfast Food options were mediocre at best. Waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, bagels and fruit. I've stayed in hotels and the weekday menu has slightly less options compared to the weekend but this just felt like less overall. 5/5 Parking Lots of spots around the property. They even have a few plug in spots for those electric cars. Overall a newer hotel, with options to eat out nearby. 3.5 to 4 on the stay. Psalm 88:1, God bless

This time around, there was a bit of confusion with our room booked, through Booking (not the actual hotel), and Rene, Denise, and Jay were all extremely helpful in getting us the room we needed. I came last year in June and September, when renovations were happening, and now that they are done, the hotel looks great. I always enjoy their full breakfasts, in the morning, and a coffee/tea station that is always available. The past few times, I have visited, now include different tacos each morning, and many breakfast items to choose from. They also have Social Hour on Wednesdays, which is a nice touch. Social Hour seems to be more regulated than a few times before when people, who were not guests, were coming in causing a major disruption, both in the kitchen area and pool. One area that should be highly considered is the overall cleanliness of the room, especially with these new renovations. My bed spread/top blanket was not clean. It smelled musty and dirty as if it's not being washed between guests. I pulled this off and never used it during my stay. The thermostat was also very dirty with dirt and whatever else. I always bring sanitizing wipes to clean down surfaces and they came in handy. In addition, I always use the kitchen area to make something or use the dishes. On many occasions, including this visit, every dish, glass, or utensil I pulled out had crumbs, dry food, or smudges on them. There is no soap or sponge in the kitchenette, so I do bring my own, but these should be fully cleaned and sanitized before each guests arrival. Upon leaving, I did a full dishwasher wash of every utensil, glass, and plates/bowls in the cabinet. My stay here is usually quiet, safe, relaxing and comfortable, and overall, this is a great place to stay.

For a long stretch I was here…read moreconstantly: several times a month, hundreds of dollars a visit, all on my Fantasy Rewards card. So when I say they lost a genuinely loyal customer, I've got the play history to prove it. And they lost me over twenty dollars. The short version: I had a $20 cash-out ticket that went a little past its expiration. Took it to the cashier. Rather than pull up the rewards card that was literally in the machine when I printed it -- the thing that proves the ticket was mine -- they voided it, took the paper, and spent the whole interaction insisting they weren't "keeping" my money, just "voiding" it. Either way, I walked out with nothing and no explanation, and they walked off with my $20 and, as it turns out, all my future business. As for the property: it feels old and worn to me. The machines and the floor give off a tired, run-down vibe, and if you're not into sitting at slots there's basically nothing here -- no sports bar, no variety, not much atmosphere. I've never had a meal here I'd recommend. The one exception, credit where it's due, is the Rock Yard; the outdoor shows are legitimately fun and the only part of this place I'll miss. Here's the real tell, though: Agua Caliente, which isn't even a place I'm crazy about, treats its guests noticeably better than this. And Augustine is on another level entirely -- the service they give locals and regulars is genuinely excellent, the exact opposite of what I got here. When the casino you don't even love is better, and the locals' spot is in a completely different class, that says everything about where Fantasy Springs put a loyal regular on its priority list. The point is a casino looked at a regular who spent real money here consistently and decided a $20 voucher was the hill to die on. They won the twenty. They lost the customer. I'm taking my money to Augustine, where they actually act like they want repeat guests.

So what differentiates this from other Palm Springs area resorts? The service, by far. The property is phenomenal and the upkeep and maintenance is good, on par with other places. For example, at the pool, we found straws from the previous guest, etc. not a deal breaker, but something to observe. But everyone I interacted with genuinely seemed like they wanted us to have a good time. If it was fake, it was very good acting. From the valet to check in, amazing! Javier checked us in. 7 out of 5. Stress free. The pool area, 8 out of 5. Off the charts. Attention management: I stay at a lot of hotels and resorts. And though I'm sometimes overly generous with my ratings, I can honestly say Dru is the best server I've had, ever. She should run the joint! I wish I could give her a raise. Evan was pretty bad ass too and should be commended! Will I be back? 100 percent. Amazing property, rooms are great, staff is awesome. Food is good, but avoid the breakfast buffet at Rockwood. $40 for powdered eggs is no bueno! Other than that, you'll love it here!

The staff was attentive, and everything felt well organized. We had dinner at Aquifer65 & JW Sushi Bar one night, and it was fantastic. The rooms are a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the property, but the overall experience more than makes up for it. The pools, grounds, and amenities make this a great place to spend a long weekend. I'd definitely recommend staying here--just be prepared if you're visiting in the summer. The 104-degree desert heat is no joke, so plan on spending plenty of time in the pool and staying hydrated!

Because it was the weekend of the Coachella music festival, the entire resort was full and it was extremely busy. Check in was quick and easy with friendly staff. Since it is a WorldMark location, we were offered the timeshare presentation (marketed as a "tour of the property"); we politely declined and they never bothered us again about it. The following items really annoyed me and I am not sure whether this is the norm or if it was because it was busy and the resort was full. - The resort DOES NOT provide additional towels. You can only replace dirty towels by calling housekeeping and trading your dirty towels for new ones. I have never seen a resort/hotel do this and did not like this practice. Just really annoying. - The resort does not offer housekeeping, even though we stayed for 4 nights! Our room was never cleaned as a result and we had to take the trash out ourselves. I even tried leaving the trash outside my door so that housekeeping can just grab it, but I found that it was just left there all day. Some other cons... - The AC does not work in the bedrooms. It is strong in the living rooms, but there is no air in the bedrooms for some reason. Being in the desert, it was sooo hot getting up to the high 90s outside. AC is necessary! - The food in the market/cafe is pretty mid... With WorldMark Indio being a large well-known resort in the area, I would expect the cafe food to be better. Pro though - I like that they have a market/cafe; definitely helpful to get a quick lunch in before heading to Coachella. - The security becomes very aggressive if you do not have their resort wristbands on. I accidentally left mine in the room on the first day and was almost not let back onto the property even though I could tell them my full name with ID... The best and really the only PRO I can tell you about is that there are shuttles here that take you to the festival! It is run by a private company called LF Festivals. It is very convenient and costs $145 per person. It is expensive but it was convenient and made it so that we had one less thing to think about. One thing they could work on though is the wait times. I waited over an hour sometimes to get onto a shuttle since the line was so long. Sometimes though there was no wait and I got onto a van immediately. Okay, I know I have a lot of negatives to say but it's a solid place to stay. I guess I just had high expectations because of the high price. Overall, nearly every staff I interacted with was very friendly and helpful and the front desk is quick to answer the phone when you need assistance with something. The room was clean and there is a microwave, fridge, freezer, and stove. Very convenient.

As such, I have stayed in a long list of Marriott brand properties, all were great, however, the Renaissance Esmeralda stands out above the high standards of the others. My first experience staying at this magnificent property was over the 2018-2019 New Years. Not only did we get to enjoy the wonderful experience at Renaissance Esmeralda, we went down to the great New Years party in the lower level between the bar and stairs/fountain. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the following year to celebrate New Years and have stayed a few other times when we had family and friends visiting. More recently, while celebrating my 50th birthday, I stayed at five different Marriott properties over the course of my birthday and the days leading up to it. The fourth stay/night was at Renaissance Esmeralda and was by far the best! My experience there exceeded the wonderful stays I had at the other four Marriott properties, one of which was a W. The Renaissance Esmeralda also exceeded my expectations compared to a stay at the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage a few months ago. From check-in to check-out, my experience there was outstanding to say the least. Charlie checked us in and provided exceptional service, as did Jonetta at check-out. It happened to be the eve of my birthday, so I was able to wake up at my favorite Marriott property ever! I was upgraded to an absolutely beautiful and large suite, which had panoramic views of the beautiful mountains, the one-of-a-kind resort style pool area and more. We arrived and found the suite that was absolutely impeccably clean, and a very nice and thoughtful surprise, a piece of birthday cake along with a bottle of wonderful wine. We also very much enjoy and appreciate the updated suites with their mid-century modern style, especially the cool bathroom wallpaper with some of Palm Springs' best mid-century modern homes. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast where Amparo provided exceptional service and food. In both the evening and the next morning, we took time to enjoy the refreshing pool area. I also very much appreciated the covered garage parking with complimentary EV charging, where we were able to charge my truck, so we didn't have to stop in the morning before heading back to Redondo Beach, allowing us more time to enjoy all the greatness Renaissance Esmeralda has to offer. Finally, we like to walk each morning with my service dog, and the property and surrounding areas couldn't be better, as there are many grass areas and some nice shaded spaces. We are already planning on returning the Renaissance Esmeralda in November when we will have family visiting, and since they are golfers, they can enjoy the adjacent beautiful course. I highly recommend this outstanding resort and property for any couple or family who wants to experience the absolute best that Marriott and the Coachella valley offer.

Unfortunately, while I was showering, I noticed that the water was not draining. Because I was so tired, it took me a moment to realize that my feet were standing in several inches of dirty water. When I removed the drain cover, I was horrified to find a large clump of thick black hair measuring approximately 3 inches by 3 inches and about three-quarters of an inch thick blocking the drain. I immediately got out of the shower and thoroughly washed my feet, but by then I felt physically ill. I went to the front desk to explain what had happened. The staff seemed less than sympathetic and offered me two options: move to a room that was not as nice as my current one or wait for housekeeping, although they could not tell me how long that would take. I explained that I simply wanted to take another shower as soon as possible and asked if housekeeping could be expedited. My request appeared to inconvenience them, despite the fact that I remained calm and courteous throughout the conversation. When housekeeping finally arrived, the experience became even more disappointing. The housekeeper came without any cleaning supplies. Instead, she picked up one of the washcloths from my bathroom and used it to wipe away part of the hair. No disinfectant or cleaning products were used. She then looked at me and, in a rude tone, asked, "Is that all you need?" I was completely shocked by both the lack of professionalism and the absence of any attempt to properly sanitize the shower. Fortunately, I had taken several photographs of the hair before housekeeping arrived. I returned to the front desk and showed the pictures to another guest relations employee, whose reaction confirmed that my concerns were justified. She immediately called over the manager on duty. After seeing the photos, he apologized and offered to move me to a pool view room with a larger balcony than my other pool view room, which I appreciated. However, by that point the damage had already been done. I was still nauseated from having unknowingly stood in filthy, backed-up water containing someone else's hair, and I was emotionally drained after what should have been a relaxing start to my trip. After such a long drive, this was the last experience I expected, and it significantly impacted my impression of the hotel. I hope this experience is taken seriously, not only because of the obvious sanitation concerns, but also because guests deserve to be treated with empathy and professionalism when issues like this arise. I sincerely hope steps are taken to improve both housekeeping procedures and customer service so that no future guest has to endure a similar experience.
