I literally found this place on accident and it was the best accident of my life lol I ordered all appetizers chicken sauté, shrimp rolls with sweet chili sauce, chicken and pork dumplings, and chicken wonton soup. Have only really gotten food to go, but it never dissapoints! Best dumplings I've ever had and the massaman curry is just sublime.

First time visiting and definitely will be back. We had 7 in our party and all enjoyed their dishes. Shrimp rolls were very authentic and the calamari was also very good. I had the Kra Pow Kai Dao with pork with a 4 in spicy and that was perfect! I'll try the chicken or beef next time. The staff was also very attentive and friendly! Since we moved to Rock Hill from Charlotte we sought out another Thai place we could say is our main stay and Sila Thai is that. My husband loves the Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken and I love the pineapple curry and also they have pumpkin curry, which was new to me, but delicious. We have tried other dishes and they are always great!! One of our fav desserts is the pumpkin custard which they seem to have not only in the fall but most of the year. The manager/owner Gof is always personable and the staff provides great service. Even though the exterior is a little worn the decor is very comfortable and pleasant. read more

I went here during both of my work visits in York. The first time I had Thai tea, pad Kee mao, and mango with sticky rice. The second time I did green curry and taro bubble tea. Each time the spice level was just right for Thai food and everything was fresh and tasty! This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. It really made me miss being in Thailand and that mango and sticky rice was perfect. I'm sad I won't be in York anytime soon because this restaurant along made me look forward to the trip! read more

I asked a friend of mine who is Thai where is the most authentic Thai restaurant in the Charlotte area? Without hesitation he said Sila Thai in Rock Hill, I immediately went to Yelp to check it out and saw the reviews which seemed to back up his claim. I took the family with me to Sila Thai and when we got there at night, there were no cars in the parking lot and the building didn't seem to meet my high hopes. I walked in and the place was completely empty, a young man walked up and asked carry out or dine in, I said well let me look at a menu first. I took the menu outside to the car where my family were waiting and we pondered over and over whether we wanted to take a chance or not, so I finally said let's do it. We walk in and the decor is definitely of Thai theme but still not knowing what to expect we ordered appetizers to get started (calamari, spring rolls) and when they came out I wasn't impressed with the calamari because I do have high standards for such a delicious appetizer, the spring rolls were good as should be expected. I ordered the Pad Cha, my wife ordered the Basil Saute and the children had Green Curry with chicken. From the first bite to the last, I was thoroughly impressed and savoring every bite. The Pad Cha was very spicy just as I like and I honestly could've had another plate but the portion size was perfect. My wife loved her Basil Saute with chicken and the kids ate all of their dinner without a complaint. When we finished eating we all looked at each other and laughed because we realized that looks on the outside can be deceiving and we are very happy that we took a chance on Sila Thai. After speaking with the waiter, he told me that they do a lot of to go orders, so that was one of the reasons that the restaurant isn't packed. So Yelp family, Sila Thai is definitely worth taking a chance on if you're looking for great Thai cuisine and we will be making frequent visits here. We just moved to Rock Hill, and we found our new Thai spot! They knocked it out of the park, every dish was so yummy. My husband ordered the chicken pad Thai spice level 4 and boy oh boy they brought the heat. He absolutely loved it! I ordered the Panang curry and it was so delicious. Best curry I've ever had. My sister in law ordered the Pad See Ew level 3 and she absolutely loved it. My son got the fried rice and he loved it. All hits all around. Everything was so fresh, crisp, and delicious. I had a craving for Thai food so we stopped by for lunch today and I'm so glad we did! Sila is a small place which I easliy missed driving around, luckily my boyfriend and his coworkers have been here before. There was a good crowd considering the out of the way location during weekday lunch. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated for our meal. The menu is extremely simple but everything looked amazing so I had a hard time deciding. I ended up sticking to my guns and trying my most favorite staple, Pad Kee Mow at a 3.5/5 spice level. The bf got the Sila Fried Rice at the same spice level. Both entrees and included egg drop soup cost $7. We also ordered a mango bubble milk tea to split for $3. Pretty reasonable given the quality and quantity of food. The egg drop sound was a nice, unexpected treat. It was also packed with tofu and peas, a great textural addition, had to add some salt and pepper. Each entree was presented with a steamed dumpling swimming in low sodium soy, I appreciate the effort, it was good..not wonderful though, but hey...its free. I loved the Pad Kee Mow! It nailed the veggie to noodle ratio and had a great kick. The spice was encorporated through out the dish, not just sprinkled on the top like some other Thai joints. the fried rice was good as well and also had the proper spice level we were looking for. The veggies were flavorful and crunchy, hard to find. Unfortunately, we did not care for the mango bubble milk tea...it was a little too thick and the pearls seemed old as they were soggy and falling apart within the drink. Had to dock a star for this. We will definitely be back here. Sadly, the owners are going to Thailand for the holidays and will be closed for 2 months starting this Saturday. Everything was simply delicious. Don't let the outdoor appearance or decor fool you. This place is awesome. I go here every time that I am in Rock Hill and have eaten here at least 30 times, 10 or so of those before changing to a WFPB lifestyle and I have always been impressed. Last night I took a coworker from the UK who was married to a woman from Thailand and owned & operated a Thai restaurant for 15 years to see if my belief that this place is top notch authentic is accurate and he concurred. Today I had the great pleasure of coming across this restaurant during my dull work trip and let me tell you, this is hands down the best Thai food I have had in the US. Sound the alarm - Sila has kao soy on their menu! The fella and I ventured back in, and it looked like they had updated their offerings. Kao soy is my absolute favorite Thai dish, and I've only been able to find it at two restaurants, one of which was in Toronto. I tried not to get my hopes up, but I shouldn't have worried. IT WAS AMAZING. I actually made myself physically uncomfortable because I ate so much, but it was completely worth it; my belly wanted me to stop, but my mouth said no. The fella got something else that I barely saw because I was literally face down in my dish, but he really liked it - Asian broccoli with chicken, I think? The atmosphere still leaves quite a bit to be desired. They had a storage closet in the front of the restaurant with the door was wide open so we could see all their junk, and the lighting makes the place feel dark and a little sad instead of intimate, but the food and service make up for it. read more

I'm in love with this little place. Thai food is one of my 3 favorites and this place in GREAT & I don't have to drive to CLT. I had been here several years ago and was not overly impressed - they seemed to be closed for sometime but I've just recently rediscovered them and so glad I did. The lunch prices are very reasonable and the dishes fresh & flavorful. They also come out in a very timely manner. I've had a stir fry and a couple noodle dishes and both were so good, a nice sized portion and perfectly spiced for me with 4 stars. I was not in love with the Laarb a bit too sweet for me but everything else I've had is awesome. I look forward to trying them for dinner soon. read more

So, I dont leave many reviews normally. I do feel I need to speak up now. This is my third time eating at Sala Thai and each time I give then the benefit of the doubt. Let me backtrack. My first visit was due to the location of my new job a couple of years back. Went for lunch and had Basil Chicken, one of my favorites when mowing down the thai food. Well after about 2 hours it seemed it wasn't agreeing well with me. Spent the rest of the evening on the porcelain throne. Not a good first impression. I did think about what I had eaten prior and any of those items could have been the culprit. Second trip about 6 months later, same dish, same time, oh and same crappy breakfast. Guess what? Same results. Again not going to complain. Well today was a co workers last day and we all went here for lunch. Guess what I had ? Yep Basil Chicken. I had a light non greasy dinner last night, followed up with a glass of Oj only for breakfast. This was science... so we eat. Tick toc tick toc. Its now 9 pm and I have been on the shitter 10 times. NOT EXAGGERATED AT ALL. I want this devil food out of me. Never again will I eat here. Should have known that when the food arrived 3 mins after ordering I was in for a rough night.
