WE GOT ROBBED! We had a minor problem with our air conditioning. The technician that showed up (Eric) told us it was an easy fix and the part was not expensive ( a capacitor) about $40. I said GREAT, but then he said it was still a very expensive job. I asked him why and he mumbled something about overhead and cost to do business. He offered us a one year warranty on a capacitor or a 5 year warranty on a different capacitor. One was $650 the other was $850. By the time he got done we had a $967 bill for a job that averages $200. Look it up, and avoid this predatory company at all costs. 5 stars for Technician; 3 stars for Customer Service (only because they were nice): After paying A LOT of money for a whole new HVAC system, I was hearing a noise, so I placed a service call on a Wednesday and was able to get an appointment on that Friday. Service technician Greg Martin was OUTSTANDING, explained everything in detail and was a true professional. I will specifically request him in the future, if needed. (Noise was just the pump working extra hard on these hot days) However, Customer Service (over the phone) promised an 8AM-12PM appointment and my tech arrived at 2:30 pm because they sent him somewhere else first. Although CS very nice each time I called, I had to call 4 times asking where my tech was. I believe on my 2nd call I was told Nicholas would be there by 12:00 PM. On my third call I was told 2 PM and my tech was now Greg. Therefore, I asked "So, at 2 PM when I have to call back, are you going to tell me he is stuck in traffic?". I was assured he would be there by 2:00 PM. Not the case and when I called back at 2:00 pm, lo and behold, I was told he was stuck in traffic. Get your stories straight customer service!!! Don't tell your customers falsehoods to get them off the phone!! Wondering who is going to pay my wages when I had to take the whole day off??? I did get a call from Corporate apologizing but only after I called my initial contact complaining. No invoice transparency at Sila Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electrical. I had an appointment on February 16, 2026, to troubleshoot a no-heat issue on the second floor of my home. I was told the repair would be $1,500. Although hesitant, I agreed to proceed because I needed heat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The repair was completed, I paid $1,524.90, and the technician left. I later realized I had not been provided with an invoice, so I called the company directly at 781 438 4114. The person who answered the phone emailed me an invoice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The invoice listed an HVAC diagnostic fee of $69.00, followed by "HYD 170," with no price or itemized breakdown provided. I understand that professional services and parts can incur significant costs, it is unreasonable that the part alone could account for the entire charge without any supporting documentation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I respectfully requested a detailed breakdown of the invoice through multiple phone calls and emails; however, the responses I received were dismissive and failed to provide the clarifications I sought.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am specifically troubled by the lack of transparency in the invoice I received for the installation of a combination fill valve and backflow preventer. The refusal to furnish a comprehensive itemization of the charges is unacceptable. As a customer, I believe it is my right to understand how the total was calculated, including labor, materials, and any additional fees. Transparent billing practices are essential to maintaining trust and ensuring fair business dealings. I will never use them again. read more

He does great work is incredibly fair and once found a tiny spare part in his truck that he had on hand making our repair significantly less expensive since he saved something just in case in his truck. I had a problem with my heat, the pilot light wasn't turning on. A tech (Nick) came said he can try to fix it but can't guarantee it would work and that would cost $3000 or I can replace the system for $26000. And I'm not exaggerating twenty six thousand dollars!!!!! He said if I decided at that time they could start work tomorrow. I told him I'll have to talk with my wife cause it's $26000 which is more than some brand new cars. I was still charged $180 for him doing nothing.... I called another guy, he came and lit the pilot light in like 10 minutes. I asked him asked him about the quote to change to new system he quoted me $14000. I do plan on changing the whole system but definitely won't be using Sila for anything at all. He was the pervious home owners technician and was familiar with the home and the units and was super helpful when giving us the run down on our new home and inherited units. We had some renovation ideas and he was super helpful with providing recommendations and suggestions with how to go about them with plumbing and even how Sila can provide electrical services. I give them five stars for the service people (especially Greg who was so knowledgeable and pleasant). However, maybe only one star for the way they schedule appointments. We had a confirmed appt (from email) but they didn't tell us they would call a half hour before our appointment to confirm. We were outside with our grandchildren and didn't hear the phone so they never came. When we called the office, we got so much attitude and they never apologized-it was our fault! After all the gas lines on our street were replaced, the gas company turned it back on in our home and relit the water heater and burner. The tech noticed they weren't drafting very well and recommended we call an HVAC company. We have a maintenance contract with Sila, and they arrived the next day. Our tech Ray J. was excellent! He showed up on time, was friendly and polite. He quickly diagnosed the issue, clearly explaining the problem, which was more involved than we thought due to the age of our home and previously neglected repairs.
