fast-paced mediterranean with a wide range of options you can choose from. they offer create your own pitas, wraps, and bowls, which all range from $9-$15 each. You can also get a pita combo for $11.95 that comes with fries and a drink, which is a pretty good price. workers are quick to make your order, the restaurant style is a lot like cava/chipotle as you can choose whatever you want to add on. I got the gyro, which was insanely soft and tasty. the red onions and spicy feta are a must, and I loved the garlic sauce they have. would def come back to try other things. their portions are massive. they also have a lot of seating available. lot of people were in during lunchtime, so it seems like a popular office lunch place.

Pretty good Mediterranean food on Broadway. We stopped by for a late lunch and ordered a Mediterranean Chicken Bowl and a Steak Bowl. You get several options for the base and the toppings with a pita on the side. The staff was super friendly and helped with recommendations for toppings and sauces. The place has plenty of seating and cold water in clay pots which was cool.

I ordered takeout from here and got a bowl with spicy rice, Sila's chicken and several toppings. The chicken was really good- the flavor and texture were great. The sauces were also very good. The spicy sauce was just spicy enough that it was hot but didn't take away from the rest of the bowl. The pita (included with the bowl) was a nice touch. The service was solid. They were quick and willing to let me sample a few sauces before deciding on one. Even though I ordered takeout this time, I really like the restaurant. (I've dined in on several occasions). The Mediterranean decor provides a unique fast-casual dining experience. If you're not looking for a Michelin quality meal, but instead just want something quick and tasty, I can't recommend Sila's highly enough. PS- the Athletic Brew tall boy in my photo was purchased down the street, not from Sila's.

Really good in the neighborhood. The menu is just the right amount of choices and the offerings seem authentic. Very clean and well appointed. Plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy your meal. Some of the better Mediterranean and gyros I've had in Lakeview. Full of flavor with homemade tiziki and pita bread. great choices on side dishes like the fried potatoes are excellent and non greasy. Surprisingly good price points and an all around an excellent choice for lunch or dinner on Broadway in Lakeview.

Amazing, delicious, fresh, omg I'm obsessed. I live in west loop and I want to move to lake view just for Silas. We ordered chicken bowls with a base of white rice, potatoes, and carrots. 100/10. For sauces we had Silas sauce and the Garlic sauce. Also had a side of the creamiest hummus I've ever had. The portions are very generous. I can't wait to go back.

I've been here several times last year and always had a good experience. It appears that business has picked up since my last visit they hired two new people. They'll get you in and out in no time. I usually get a sandwich whether it be their daily specials or one of their hand-made beef gyros sandwiches with delicious ingredients and a can of pop runs $12.00 with tax. They are busy on the weekends, so you're best bet is to take the bus or Uber, as parking is nearly impossible.

Love how customizable the dishes are! Went with the pita and it did not disappoint! The pita was so fresh and delicious I'd go back just for plain ones to have at home. The pita was so stuffed I ended up taking the lentil soup home for later. Also tried the baklava (which is vegan). I love traditional baklava and while you def notice the missing honey, it was still very good! Can't believe it's taken me a year to try this place and I look forward to trying more off the menu.

Food: The shawarma at Sila's is absolutely delicious! The chicken is super tender and flavorful. You can add as many topping as want to your wrap or bowl. You must add hummus and harissa sauce. It's the perfect combination of creamy and spice. If you decide to add rice to your wrap go with the spiced rice, it's earthy and pairs really well with any protein. I can't wait to come back. Service: Fast and friendly! Ambiance: I feel like I've been transferred to a happy sunflower field. It's just a delightful place to escape the gloomy days in Chicago.

Silas Mediterranean Restraunt really is a sight to see. The inside of the restraunt really is like going back in time. The food was good since one can build a bowl of their choice! The only thing that I didn't like was the temperature of the inside of the shop.

Service was nice - they explained how the ordering works. The gyro was good and you can pick some sides and sauces. The inside of the restaurant is quite cute. If you're in the area, it's worth trying! Down one star because one of the workers went into the bathroom and was in there for a super long time. All the while they have their own employee bathroom. It was really annoying waiting to just wash my hands when the employee could have easily gone to their own employee bathroom.

Service was quick and easy. This is a great spot to grab a fast meal if you are craving mediterranean food. There are plenty of options and all the flavors are great. I ended up getting the falafel wrap which was so good. I love the ambiance with all the sunflowers around. I highly recommend!

Aba Restaurant review -- Fulton Market, Chicago…read more This was my husband and I first time visiting Aba Restaurant, and we left impressed on every count. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We had an 8 PM reservation, but since we were in the area early, Chris B. kindly accommodated us for an earlier seating. We settled on the rooftop deck, which set the mood with a vibrant, buzzy vibe. The service was outstanding throughout. Our waiter greeted us promptly, with a trainee at the table. (My apologies for forgetting their names). Both were exceptionally pleasant. The trainee did a superb job walking us through the menu, explaining the concept of ordering. We decided on a variety of dishes, and Aba delivered: - Wild Mushroom Hummus: A smooth earthy dish with roasted mushrooms folded into a creamy hummus, finished with truffle oil and herbs. Yummy! - Tuna & Watermelon: A refreshing pairing of tender tuna balanced with juicy watermelon, cucumber, pomergrant seeds and mint. Loved it! - Green Chili Shrimp: Served in a metal dish used for escargo. The shrimp were covered by breadcrumbs and lots of butter with a slight kick to it. Great for dipping your bread in. It did not disappoint! - Pan Seared Halibut: A perfectly seared, delicate fillet, moist and flaky that highlighted the fish's clean, buttery profile. And from the cocktail menu, the Aloe? It's Me. It has a kick to it. Loved it too. Everything was excellent--the food was inventive and delicious, the service was great and the rooftop ambiance added a memorable layer to the evening. Highly recommended for a refined yet relaxed Chicago dining experience.

I tried the smoked garlic hummus (comes with pita bread), short rib Shakshouka, crispy potatoes, and the beef and lamb kofta! This was for two people and we had left overs. The hummus was fantastic! I highly recommend getting the crispy potatoes as well! I have never tried shakshouka with meat in it before and didn't love the texture. However, the flavor was sweet and savory! The only thing that was not ideal was that an optional surcharge was on the receipt, when we tried to get our server to help remove it per instructions on the receipt no one was to be found. That was disappointing and potentially strategic? I would have rather just tipped. I'm not sure how others feel about the surcharge?

Part of me wishes that we got the chance to sit down inside, but maybe that will be the excuse to come visit another time. The Blueberry Clafoutis was my favorite dish. The blueberries were sweet, and it was like eating a blueberry crepe/pancake. The sweetness level was not overpowering, which was what made this dish so enjoyable. The "Bhel" Hummus and Spicy Whipped Feta were both very tasty. I loved the fruitiness of the "Bhel" Hummus and loved how the Spicy Whipped Feta had its pomegranate bits. Each were so unique, and it was an adventure with each bite. Excellent service and food overall. It was a pleasant new experience.

I arrived 25 minutes later and they hadn't even made my order. From there, 3 different people told me it'll be another 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 15 minutes. I ended up waiting 20 minutes and during that whole time there was no apology. One of the workers handed me a tea and later I saw they included dessert in the bag. It was a nice gesture but I was frustrated that it wasn't acknowledged by the staff at all and part of my order was still missing. I paid $2.25 for a Yogurt & Cucumber Sauce which I never received. The Caspian Mix Grill with Albaloo Polo was very good. The filet mignon & chicken breast were both juicy and well-seasoned. The Albaloo Polo is plain basmati rice mixed with saffron, caramelized onion and sauteed sweet & sour cherries. I liked the rice but it felt like they just threw the cherries on top rather than incorporate it into the rice. It was very filling, enough to share with 2 people, and good value. The Bamieh & Balava were also fresh, sweet, and a nice bite to end on. Ultimately, I would give the food a 4/5 and the service a 2/5, hence my 3/5 rating.

Nothing really went together and it was warm, which didn't make sense and made it worse. The steak was cooked how I asked, but the sauce was extremely oily and had this strange burnt flavor which likely was from the onions? The onions were extremely burnt, nothing like a typical caramelized delish onion. The chicken had the same issue, everything had that same burnt tasting oil and the chilies sitting in it just made it more intense. It was honestly just edible and nothing I would come back for or recommend. I love middle eastern food and know that even with a midwestern there are some considerations to take with the flavor profile but the burnt onions, burnt spicy oil in the chicken, and a warm salad are all indications for poor execution. As for the actual ambiance and experience it was my birthday and there was no acknowledgment at all not even someone to check in on whether the food was okay. I did not want to order a dessert after the salad, steak, and shawarma all missing the mark. The seating was very uncomfortable. It is cramped and communal and at this price point I expected a much better experience. Will admit I should have looked into the actual dining set up before booking a late night reservation but even still there are so many better places in Chicago where you can get better food and actually feel comfortable. Overall it just was not worth it. I would not return or recommend this spot.
