SCAM. Went to this dentist 3 years ago. She insisted on refilling old fillings because the original was "poor quality." This is LAUGHABLE because now I had to go get the fillings redone again because they were rotting from the inside...my new dentist said they looked 10+ years old from the state they were in. Nope! Dr. Silva A. Arejian is unprofessional & hung up the phone on me twice for no apparent reason. Tuesday (8/3/21) @ 9:21 am (6-min call) - First called to get info on their teeth whitening services as I have no prior knowledge/experience. Was told teeth whitening would be $299 for the Zoom service & that it'd be a 1-hour service. Person I spoke w/ recommend I get a cleaning first. I already used up my Dental insurance allowance for the year, so I asked how much was cleaning w/o insurance which they said $123. They asked about scheduling and I said I need to think about it as the purpose of my call was to get info. I thanked the person & said I will think on this. Wednesday (8/4/21) - The next day I contacted my main dental office (in DTLA) to ask about their dental whitening service which they gave me 3 options but said Zoom was the most popular. They said the Zoom service is $750 & that it'd be a 2-2.5 hour service. I told them that I called another dental office in DTLA (Dr. Silva A Arejian) that quoted me $299 for Zoom & that it'd be a 1-hour service & was curious to understand why $750 and 2-2.5 hours. They said they couldn't speak to what the other dental office was doing & that I should call them to find out, but they explained that they've seen the Zoom service range from $500-$800. They explained that they put a gel like material on my teeth and the laser activates it and that it takes about 2-2.5 hours. So at this point, I'm confused since the price/time difference is so great. Wednesday (8/5/21) @ 3:19 pm (3-min call) - So I decided to call Dr. Silva A. Arejian's office to understand their pricing/service in detail since I was confused at the price/time difference & want to be an educated consumer. I actually called w/ the intent of getting educated enough & book my cleaning & Zoom service w/ Dr. Silva A. Arejian's office all in this one call. I just though there were different options for Zoom, similar to like a 60-min vs. 90-min massage. Unknowingly at the time, Dr. Silva A. Arejian answered the phone herself as her staff member was on her break. I mentioned that I called earlier in the week to ask about their Zoom service & that I was quoted $299 for a 1-hour service. I told her that I then contacted my main dental office & was quoted $750 for a 2-2.5 hour service & that I couldn't understand why the price was so different & wanted to understand what their Zoom service entailed. I understand Dr. Arejian isn't a salesperson, but when a person calls & says a competitor is that much more expensive, that is a sure sign of hooking them in & selling your services & getting that person as a customer. Instead, Dr. Arejian oddly took the approach of getting defensive & just said that I'd have to contact my dental office to ask about their services & that it might be a better option to go w/ them & then HUNG UP! Yes, I couldn't believe it. Mind you I'm having a good day & I'm not rude (I'm from Hawaii) over the phone to justify such behavior. It was obviously extremely unprofessional & rude, but I just thought it was a disgruntled employee that was having a bad day & no one else around to see this bad behavior. Like I said, I didn't know I was talking to the actual Dentist/Owner herself. If so, I wouldn't even have called back, but I did thinking I could just ask for a supervisor or the Dentist to get the info I needed & book my appointment. Wednesday (8/5/21) @ 3:23 pm (13-min call) - So I called back & Dr. Arejian answered (still didn't know I was speaking to her) & the first thing I said was "that was extremely rude to hang up on me like that". I asked why she hung up on me like that as it was uncalled for. Dr. Arejian said that she didn't know how to help me as she didn't know what the other dental office does & that I'd have to contact my dental office to understand their services. I explained that I already contacted my dental office to ask about their services & was calling to ask about your services. Dr. said she misunderstood, then went on to explain pricing & service, about teeth cleaning first, then when I was about to ask a f/u question, the Dr. said her staff is back & that I could schedule w/ her & just left me on hold for 30 secs. When the staff answered I asked who that person was since they were rude & the staff made it seem like she didn't know. I said I was about to ask a question which the staff said they could help, so I then reexplained my story. I got additional info the Dr. didn't mention. I had another question, then all of a sudden the Dr. answered, I asked who this was & this is when I found out it was Dr. Arejian the whole time. She said we were on the phone for 15-mins & she didn't understand what else I wanted & said am I going to book an appointment. I said we spent most of the time wasted cause she hung up & that I had further questions & I was intending to book an appointment. She said this isn't the right place for me & then HUNG UP again. I had a good experience at Dr. Arejian's facility. It's in a great location- right off of the freeway and the service was timely and painless as far as dental work goes. Dr. Arejian took the time to talk with me about what work that I wanted to get done and i appreciated that. Ana conducted my teeth whitening procedure and she also assisted with my cleaning . I liked her attention to detail, and really-- you can tell that she likes what she does and takes pride in her work. I had a bunch of questions about future work that i wanted done and she answered them in detail. Across the board, when we talk about customer service, it's the little things that matter. I had the ABSOLUTE worst experience at Dr. Arejian's office. As a student from USC, I had trust knowing she has her degree from USC as well. However, I had purchased a groupon cleaning discount, which was obviously too good to be true. It had been 8 months since my last cleaning and this was the most excruciatingly painful cleanings I've ever experienced. When I asked her why it was so painful (she was literally digging into my gums with her tools), she said I had gingivitis. Please note: I am a non-smoker and I floss 1x a day. On top of this, she claimed I had 4 cavities. All in the upper corner row of teeth, which would be hard to decipher myself. They quoted me nearly $2,000 to get these filled. I asked them to email me my x-rays, they never did. Recently, I went to TWO new dentists who both claim my gums are in perfect condition and I have absolutely NO cavities. They even did 4 x-rays to double check since I had told them I was mislead before. This place is a SCAM. Her degree does not mean anything, so do not let it fool you. She should have her medical license taken away. Not only did this "dentist" inflict pain (I told her so multiple times), but this office is also willing to con a college student for several thousand dollars on phony findings. read more

Went to get a cleaning last month for a group on promo. I was surprised, after receiving the X-Rays, Dr. Silva A. Arefian told me that I had 11 cavities! I brush and floss everyday so I thought this was unusual. I received the cleaning and told them I'd get back to them about getting the work done. I don't have dental insurance and the bill came out to $3,294 which included a night guard in addition to the cavities. I called back several weeks later and left a message asking if they could email me a copy of the x-rays. Nobody ever got back to me... One month later I went to a trustworthy dentist, which happens to be my moms friend, and decided to get a second opinion. I had to have my X-Rays taken once again since Dr. Arefian's office never got back to me. Turns out I had 1 cracked filling that needed to be replaced and she did recommend a night guard, because I grind my teath at night, but that was it! She also recommended doing the teeth cleaning again because my previous cleaning apparently wasn't very good. My bill today for a tooth cleaning, x-rays, and 1 filling was $200! I know I got a good deal since this was my mom's friend. Now I know why Dr. Arefian's office never got back to me with those X-Rays! To say she over diagnosed is an understatement! 3.5 stars. I bought a Groupon to get my teeth whitened by Dr. Arejian and was super disappointed to find that the dental assistants actually preform this procedure. The procedure was super quick and easy but I was not pleased with my results. My teeth really weren't that yellow to begin with, but I was looking to leave with some serious PEARLY WHITES and I didn't really get that. After seeing that I was a little disappointed, the dental assistant told me that I should buy white strips to get better results. Um, no. I expect to not have to use white strips after using the ZOOM system. They gave me some Sensodyne to help combat the sensitivity and I was on my way. Probably will not go back for the teeth whitening (lasted about 50mins). The office is small, clean, and cute. Dr. Arejian (USC School of Dentistry grad) was very nice, as were all the assistants in the office. I was there for about an hour and parking was $8. Not sure if they validate parking. read more

Dr. Arejian is great. I've visited the office three times now in 2021, and each time, she and her staff ensured that I felt comfortable right away, being generally attentive, asking if I needed anything while I waited (the office is always stocked with coffee and water), and ensuring a less-than-fifteen-minute wait. The one time I had to wait more than fifteen minutes, I was thankful they were seeing me at all--I'd explained over the phone just the day before that I really had no other day or time that I could reasonably drive out there in the foreseeable future, and they'd squeezed me in last minute. They'd gone out of their way to get me seen, so the wait I experienced was absolutely fair. In fact, I've been able to get seen within a week every time I've reached out for an appointment. The only negative, really, is that the parking costs add up fast. The office is usually able to validate for up to fifteen minutes to help offset the charges, but toward the end of the month they do tend to run out of validations, as I learned on my last visit. This is of course not the fault of the office and so doesn't affect my review. The parking fees are more than made up for by the superior customer service of this office. Also, the goodbye goodie bags with floss and other products don't hurt. And for those who, like me, worry about going to the dentist's because of COVID: the office adheres strictly to CDC guidelines, creating a safe, non-stressful environment for patients. In sum, Dr. Arejian and her staff are wonderful. The office is itself pleasant and inviting, with the only downside being the parking costs. You won't go wrong coming here for your dental health needs. read more

She, her staff, and her genius hygienist​ took all of my past experiences into consideration. They not only explained every procedure to me in detail, but they outlined all of the pros and cons regarding price, overall health benefits, and possible pain issues. I never felt pressured to pay for anything or get anything done. But of course, I followed everything they suggested because it's clear they're masters at dental health and, although I was initially hesitant, I fully trust them. She made up 7 cavities for me (7!!!!) when i have NEVER had anything done to my teeth, do regular check ups and cleaning! This dentist is a crook and has no problem drilling into your perfectly healthy teeth just to take your money. Check the other reviews on here that say the same. I came to her after buying a Groupon deal for a cleaning and exam, which was a good deal. However, she told me I had four cavities that needed to be filled and that I also needed a special deep cleaning in all 4 quadrants. Even when she pointed out the "dark areas" on my x-rays, I couldn't really see what she was talking about, but I trusted her because she is a doctor and I am not. I walked out of there with an estimate for over $2,000 worth of work. I have now seen two other dentists since her who have both told me I have ZERO cavities and that I do not need a deep clean. Went over the top and didn't charge me for extra intraoral images that I had request. Explained all of my options with a clear breakdown of fees and how long treatment would take. This was the worst, most unprofessional, painful and disrespectful dental visit I have ever had. This lady dentist was either sick and medicated, or drunk. She first slipped with the drill while working on a cavity and cracked a perfectly healthy tooth. I could literally feel it crack. Then, moving on to another part of my mouth, she jabbed the needle into my jaw to numb that area, which not only hurt horribly but also apparently hit either some optical/cranial nerve or extraocular muscle because my eyes went cross immediately. The doc realized what had happened and just walked out without a word, while I am sitting in the chair panicking. What must have been a few minutes but felt like eternity, the assistant that had originally checked me in comes in and asks if I am ok. I was freaked out, not knowing what exactly had happened or if things would get better. The assistant tried to assure me that this 'happens sometimes' and will normalize soon. She offered to finish the work 'next time' and I said yes. I had to sit in the chair for prob another 20min until I was able to stand up and walk out of there. Definitely WON'T be a next time. Still cannot believe doctor Silva Areijan just left and never came back to check on me. My eyes uncrossed after about 40 minutes total thankfully, but my cracked tooth got worse and a cavity started forming around the damage. Wish I had made a bigger deal at the time but honestly by then I was in a panic to be there and just wanted to get out. BEWARE is all I can say. read more

I bought two Groupons for my College aged Daughters, Never has one of them ever had one cavity, Upon the visit with Dr Silva she told both of my girls that they needed extensive work done, One of my girls was told she had 5 cavities and the other she had two. My eldest daughter got Bambuzzled into getting 500.00 dollars worth of fillings Etc. of which she most likely did not need. Upon my second daughters visit that is when i smelled a crook. My daughter called me from the office and told me the Dr. said she had 5 cavities i told her do not get the work. done. We went to a Dr Lee in K town and he told her she did not even have one cavity so now this leads me to believe neither did my other daughter who now had dental work done on her other wise perfect teeth. I was in for a teeth cleaning with my groupon deal, and was told by Dr. Silva A. Arejian I had three cavities to fill. By that time I did not know whether I have insurance to cover the procedure, so the doctor pulled out her calculator, did some math, and said it would just be $191 if I'm without insurance. I gladly took the procedure, and I figured out I did have dental plan, so the Dr billed the insurance agency. It was only later when I received the bill from the insurance agency saying I had to pay extra $533 on my own. On the bill it says the Dr.'s office billed more than $700. I do understand they usually bill insurance agencies with a higher amount, but $533 to $191? My first thought was, well, there must have been some kind of mistake, so I called the office, but only was told there's no proof that the Dr. had ever made any promise that I could pay $191. It might not be a huge amount like it appeared on others' bills, but it was still a big deal for a college student, and I do get the feeling of being deceived. I feel bad for what I experienced. The other dr. (the guy) who did my teeth cleaning was very helpful, informative and kind. Dr. Silva A.
